About Bones

Tight and energetic, Bones is a chef-inspired noodle bar in the heart of Governor's Park. Our windowed corner spot features an eclectic collection of beers, premium sakes, and wines to compliment a menu that changes frequently to offer food as comforting as house-crafted steamed buns and braised pork udon to the more exotic roasted bone marrow. With counter dining for those who love the action of a completely open kitchen, or more intimate tables nestled along the wall, Bones has the amenities of a fine-dining establishment--excellent service, beautiful food--but priced and toned for a more lively experience.

From the service to the food, Bones left a lot to be desired. Whoever greeted us seemed rather annoyed that the reservation was accidentally made for 2 instead of 3 lol. Brussel sprouts were burnt and bitter. Steamed buns and dumplings were the most enjoyable part of our meal. Lobster ramen wasn’t anything to write home about, and the crispy chicken ramen was just ok. Missed the mark for me, and I️ don’t foresee myself making another visit.

Excellent service as well as fast and tasty food. Love how I made a reservation well in advance and was sat right away. Wasn't over crowded either so that was a major plus to be able to enjoy the time in peace.

My mom was visiting. I have our usual Ramen place, but dared her to try something new. She can’t even remember the name of our original hot Ramen spot. All she does is scream BBBOOONNNEESSS

I had a tremendous first date...was it the gal? Was it the food? Who knows! Couldn’t have been better on either account in my opinion.

We let our server choose our libations and food. As amazing as both bowls (lobster ramen and chicken? rice bowl) were, the escargot wontons were the hit; we’re both framing about them almost a week later!

Tried Bones for the first time for my birthday and loved it! I was looking for something casual, but with some out of the ordinary menu options and this was the perfect choice. The place filled up really fast from the moment they opened and was lively but never overwhelming. Our appetizers- the crab dumplings and a sampling of the steamed buns- were EXCELLENT, definitely the highlight of the meal. I also really liked the the cocktail I had, the Tsunami, and dessert, the churro ice cream sandwich. Probably the only part of the meal that wasn't above and beyond my expectation was, ironically, the ramen. And that's not to say it wasn't still tasty. I went with one of the more traditional choices and it just wasn't quite as exciting of flavorful as the rest of the meal - still would highly recommend overall and would definitely be opening to trying some of their other ramen.

The food was AMAZING! So delicious. I have heard of people getting food drunk before and never knew what that meant until I ate here. My senses all around became intoxicated by the food and I felt as if I was in a state of euphoria. Absolutely the best meal I've had in a very long time!

We did not care for the crab dumplings, they had a fishy smell that wasn't appetizing. The calamari appetizer was also different. It's not battered and fried, which is nice, but I felt it should have been hotter. It was warm and I wouldn't have paired the bread that came with it together.

The lobster ramen had good flavor, but wasn't crazy amount the lobster pieces. I would order the chicken ramen again next time.

Service was great!

I love Bones! We had a order of the steamed buns with pork belly and the shisito pepper to start. Yum! As always we got the lobster ramen. Really delicious - they seemed to have reduced the amount of lobster meat in this dish, though.

Noted Denver chef Frank Bonanno has properties ranging from french to Italian to BBQ and from among the very best in town (or anywhere) to simply great so this should not come as a surprise to those who know his work when I say that Bones is fantastic. Great spin on a noodle shop with creative dishes, good portions (not too large but not too small). Good value-for-money and great service. It sits on the corner between several of his properties (great use of a larger building totally split into separate restaurants and bar) and you could basically just stay on that corner for a week, dining at different places with a re-visit to your top choice to round-out the week. Not the worst way to spend a week. Especially if you have the buns to start and lobster ramen at Bones!

Lobster ramen with a soft poach egg - 'nough said! We have dined at Bones numerous times, and have always enjoyed the menu, from the appetizers to a bite of ice cream to finish off the meal. Start with the house-made kimchi and the shishito peppers - excellent.

Overrated! Very slow service with only two tables being served. Ordered ramen. The temperature of the restaurant was hotter than the lukewarm broth. All employees seemed like they didn't want to be working with no smiles or friendliness.

The waiter forgot to bring us our appetizer. He did give me
a free drink due to this, but it didn't make up for the mediocre food.
I had the beef and broccoli entree which had about 3
sprigs of over-cooked broccoli and a few bites of
very fatty beef on top of white rice. Not good.
My friend had the lobster noodle bowl which was OK, but it
only had about 3 small pieces of lobster in in for $20.00.
$60 plus tip for this. Not worth it. Sent an email to
their company office but no response.

Overall I'm happy we made the trip, but slightly dissappointed by the end. We tried the dumplings, steamed buns, and green chili congee, all of which lacked flavor and excitment considering the price. Service was okay, but got the vibe it was just their job and nothing more to them or the restaurant. It was a nice time out, but don't know if I'll be returning.
