Food was delicious, but the service is what sets this place apart. They made a graduation celebration very special with decorations and a nice complimentary dessert. There may be (a very few) better places for a meal, but this place takes the prize for those times when you want something a little extra.
Overall it was a disappointment for the money. We have been to Bones for special occasions before and enjoyed the food and experience.
1. Our table was next to a busing station with plenty of chatter and spillage onto the floor. Lesson to note: never accept a table like that.
2. The steak was great; the lobster not so much. My wife ordered the 2 lb lobster; whatever dried topping is added to the lobster just detracted from the great lobster experience remembered from past occasions.
3. The side mushrooms were very ordinary. We make a better side dish at home.
4. The staff and servers we fine.
We don’t mind spending the money for a higher end restaurant and enjoy the experience but next time we will go elsewhere.
Best customer service, great steaks, sauces and sides. Perfect for any special occasion
We felt rushed - we had not even finished our cocktail and they brought our dinner then kept coming by to try to take our plates and we wanted to sit and talk and enjoy the glass of wine we ordered with our dinner but dinner came during our cocktails! My daughter wanted to finish her food slowly and enjoy it. They wanted to take the bread so we said to leave it as we were taking bites.
There was a very loud table next to us so I indicated noisy!
Food as always was excellent! We appreciated the birthday dessert for my daughter.
Family dinner celebrating my son’s graduation and the staff went out of their way to make the occasion special and memorable. The service and food are always fantastic making a lovely experience. I love going to Bones and highly recommend this restaurant for both special occasions as well as date night.
fabulous! still our family favorite!
The hosts, especially Isabel, are so welcoming and personable, that I always feel like a VIP when there for business lunches.
Thanks to the wonderful hosts and servers for an awesome birthday evening exactly how I envisioned and planned it. I appreciate the friendliness and the courteousness extended. And the food...was exquisite. Cannot wait to visit again.
For my money, Bones is not only the best steakhouse in Atlanta but one of the best in the country. We've never had a meal here that was less than outstanding. This time was no exception. Caesar Salad with white anchovies and lobster bisque were excellent starters but the stars were the entrees--wild salmon and the dry-aged rib eye. Both were a perfect medium rare and perfectly delicious. Worthy of note is that although Bone is know for steaks and chops, their seafood preparations are always excellent. In addition to the food and drink (Bones "Private Reserve" cab pairs well with red meat and is a bargain at $20 the glass and $70 the bottle), the service is polished, professional and comes with just the right amount of friendliness. If you are fortunate enough to get Mark as your server you will be assured of a great evening. He's a real pro and it shows. Thanks Mark. We'll be back the next time we celebrate a special occasion (or before--lunch is terrific here too with one of the best hamburgers you'll find in Atlanta.
Wonderful atmosphere, great food, attentive staff. Sit at the bar!!
Never have bad steak in my life like this, for high end restaurant I embarrassed for them.. service very poor , management don’t even come to our table to ask us about our experience.. my bill is more than 800$ with out of tip for 3 people.. very disappointed..embarrassing.. much better restaurants around Chops , Hal’s and Little Alley Steak 1000% better then old Bones!!! Never will give other chance to them..
Service was impeccable as always. Thank you for always providing that model of consistency. Most places can’t.
This visit was a little off. I made a note on the reservation we were celebrating a special occasion. All other visits the message went through and the staff were prepared. But not this time. Our meal was fantastic but the wait for the food was unbelievably slow. Maybe they experienced a number of kitchen call-outs. We will give them another try but for the amount of money we spent I expected better attention to detail. There are a lot of very nice restaurants in Atlanta to try.
Ken was amazing and gave not just great but amazing service. The was the best I have ever eaten either in Boston or in Atlanta bones is hands down the best place to eat.
Great mother’s day dinner. As usual, Our dinner at Bones was terrific!
Excellent food and service
Best Lamb we ever had! Cocktails are amazing! Bone-in Filet had to be returned to the kitchen for re-do. Still did not get it right second time. We absolutely love the atmosphere and the restaurant overall! Will continue to come back despite the Filet!
Very pricey. Not worth the value . But it was fun and the waitstaff was great.
We went to Bones on May 11th to celebrate our anniversary. While the food was very good, the service was highly inconsistent. Lane and his team were great out of the gate. They were very personable and attentive as we ordered drinks, salads, and our main courses. After the salads and drinks were delivered, Lane and team basically disappeared. A request for more butter was ignored and was not met until the main courses arrived. After dinner, our plates sat on the table for almost 20 minutes before someone came over to pick them up. Desert orders were then taken and service picked up, but the wait staff was very cold and almost unfriendly. At the same time, the table next to us was also experiencing poor service, too, so I assume that our wait team was slammed or more focused on other customers. While the food was very good, the overall experience was poor and I expect to be treated much better for the prices charged by Bones. I will definitely think hard before I go back and drop $300 on dinner knowing that I can have a better experience elsewhere.
Great steaks and outstanding service! We had the bone-in filet! It was super tender!
Family dinner! Excellent service and food as always.
This was our first time going to Bones as we had heard great things. We have tried Ray's on the River, Hal's, Ruth Chris, Chops, Seasons 52, Stoney River, Rathbun's and other numerous Steak Houses. I unfortunately wasn't wowed. My steak was good but it wasn't the best steak I have had had in Atlanta, that for me still goes to Hal's. I ordered the 12 oz NY Strip and it had just to much fat on it. I like some marbling but not as much as this steak had. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon and she had the same impression, really good but not the best we have had. We had the Asparagus and Mashed Potatoes as our sides and all though they were good, I still loved my sides at Hal's better. The interior is definitely that of a Steakhouse that has been around 40 years and in that essense it reminded me of Hal's but my wife and I like a more modern interior and prefer Season's 52 or the scenery of Ray's on the River. I also had the Pecan Pie for desert and again it was on the good rating but not the best. For dessert I have enjoyed the Creme Brulee at Ray's or just going to Cafe Intermezzo after our dinners. I was not a big fan of how close the tables were as we could clearly hear the other dinner guests at the tables beside us. We also had the unfortunate circumstance of being near a table with a newborn who was quite fussy but the parents refused to take him outside or to comfort him. Instead they just let him cry in the restaurant all while using their cell phones which it clearly states on the menu that they ask you to refrain from doing this. Not the restaurants fault but it did dampen the mood for a romantic "quiet" dinner date night.
In summary I would still keep Bones on the top list of Steakhouses in Atlanta to check out and would rate it in the Top 10 but there are others I have enjoyed more.
Not a bad place. Best ribeye I have ever had but the grit fritters are just ok. Great potatoes !
One of our many trips to Bones. Excellent as always. Ryan and his team were the best. Planning my next visit.
Phenomenal place, there is a reason they are rated #1 Steakhouse in America.
Excellent food, “ power steakhouse”.
Clean and cozy environment with excellent service. Experience justifies the price.
Time and time again. Bones ALWAYS delivers. I’ll be back!
Bones is always a great restaurant. An ATL original. If you want to great atmosphere a great steak and one of the best restaurants services this is it. Try the hashbrowns unbelievable. My favorite side dish.
Bones always meets and usually exceeds expectations. Always the most professional service to go along with an abundance of superb food and a top notch wine list. What else are you looking for?
Excellent service, excellent food! A definite must-have experience!
It was for a meeting of all of our partners from outside Atlanta. Service wasn’t good and some of the servers were pompous abs jerks. I go 10 times per year. Will reduce that severely
Food was great. Best steak you’ll ever have. But our service was mediocre. Would request a different location and server next time. Really detracted from the experience.
Love everything about a lunch at Bones! Great staff, creative menu, and perfect table setting.
Everything one would expect from a traditional restaurant...professionally operated, excellent food, service! Best of all we could actually have a conversation without shouting over loud music and loud diners!
Definitely fine dining at it's best.
Absolutely wonderful! It was the first time there for myself and my new husband of one day. Knowing we were celebrating a special occasion, the staff prepared a special table for us with decorative rings. At the end of the meal, they surprised us with a 'mountain' of ice cream cake on the house. This is now definitely a go to venue for intimate celebrations.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. I love the ambiance and the steak is always cooked perfectly. I highly recommend the lobster bisque.
Went for our one year anniversary and it was well worth the 2.5 hour drive! Highly recommend it!
