Bonehead's Texas BBQ is the brainchild of a Silicon Valley salesman who chose to do something he loved rather than continue to put up with the daily commute. As a hobby, Dave Roberson (aka Duroc) has been smoking for friends, family, churches, and large groups for 25 plus years. His first smoker was made from a 55-gallon drum, a stolen grocery cart, (he says someone else stole it, he just didn't know where to return it to—yeah right, Dave) and a couple of lawn mower tires. Yep, he's a real bubba!

All of our products are prepared fresh daily… well most of them. The cole slaw, tater salad and other salads are. But our meats take days to prepare even before they’re cooked. You see, we use rubs on our meats that we allow to soak in for up to 72 hours before they’re placed in the smoker. We believe natural gas and charcoal leave a flavor that isn’t compatible to tasty food.

It's a good BBQ joint. I will definitely come back. Lots of different types of meats and different sides. When you walk in, it has a BBQ vibe to it. I'm not sure why they do reservations though. We showed up and it was a place where you order at the counter. I noticed throughout the evening, people were walking up to the counter to order. My only concern is the amount of paper that is used. Everything is served on paper plates and cups w/ plastic forks and knives. Please try to help the environment. For $45, 2 meals w/ 2 meats & 2 sides plus drinks, I would expect it on at least plastic dishes so they can be reused. Overall, it was a good meal. It's nice to have a place like this in Lafayette. Please support this place so that more places like this stay open in Lafayette.

Food was delicious, they weren't sure about how Open Table worked and they did not see my reservation. but I was seated right away and no issues.

Service and food was very good. It's a very causal place not fancy great for afternoon lunch, not what I consider a date night out with your partner.

Juicy and flavorful brisket. Delicious ribs and great selection of sides and sodas. Live music was a nice surprise. Low key ambience but what do you expect from a BBQ joint. Will return soon.
