Great place, wonderful food. A friend said it was the best shrimp and grits they’ve ever had. Surprised it wasn’t more crowded for how great it was!

We were seated next to a VERY loud party of 6 who were obviously drunk (or something more) and obnoxious long before we arrived as they were on dessert. The staff was obviously upset about them and manager should have dealt long before we arrived.
The entrees were mediocre, my wife's chicken was dry and came with a very small portion of mashed potatoes and under-cooked asparagus. I ordered the burger with a side of root veggies (which I paid an upcharge for.) Burger was OK but the portion of root veggies was way too small.
Their mojo chicken is the best and the sides are fresh and succulent

My husband and I had dinner here two nights ago in celebraton of our wedding anniversary. The staff were very friendly, our waiter (an older gentleman who was very kind) helped us with our food selection, and everything was great. The only suggestions I would make would be to have a few more wine selections, and maybe cook the sugar snap peas a bit longer. Overall, the food was delicious. We will definitely go back if we are in the area again!
We had 6 in our party and were looking forward to an enjoyable evening with friends and good food in a restaurant that was new to us. The waiter was attentive and accurate, but not very friendly. Most of us ordered the Denver steak. It was just okay (not much flavor). Nothing was terrible, and we all enjoyed our evening. I would return if some friends really wanted to go, but this would not be my top choice for steak.
Not really sure what happened here. Asheville's food scene is outstanding and usually I can trust the reviews online before trying a new place but this couldn't have been more wrong. Maybe the Chef had the day off but experience was supremely lackluster. The entrees were flavorless. I tried 4 different dishes. Salmon overcooked. Pork belly dry and flavorless. Prime rib was bland and pretty mushy. I almost asked our excellent server if they forgot to add sauce/spice to the pork belly but didn't want to offend her since she was doing such a great job. Mashed potatoes were the only thing with flavor and it tasted like it had all the garlic and salt in asheville on it. Very disappointed. Cocktails were fine but will not be trying this establishment again for the price.
I am very sorry that you were unhappy with all your food. I wish you would have said something to your server, They are trained to help you have a great experience and happy to do so. Lamb chops were good but the Brussels Sprouts were outstanding! Nice to have 1/2 price wine bottles on Wednesday night!

On the recommendation of our B & B concierge, we had dinner at Bone & Broth. The decor is nicely done, with hints of the what were historical touches typical of the building's origins. The specialty dish for the day was Mac & Cheese with a touch of crab meat, and we ordered this as an appetizer. It was creamy and made with a very tasty white cheddar. We most definitely recommend that dish. Because we'd had a late lunch earlier, we had burgers as our entrees. One was Bison and the other was a Beyond Burger. The Bison had Pimento cheese that gave it an extra zip to the already savory flavor of the Bison. This was our first time trying a Beyond Burger, which was not as hoped (or shall we say, hyped by the media?). This is not the fault of the restaurant, and we're sure anyone who prefers a meatless burger would find it to be as close to the real thing as could be.
Our waitress was simply outstanding and helpful. She was attentive and concerned about our enjoyment. The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff is definitely a big factor for us when dining out, and our waitress and the hostess were ideal. And a big plus was the parking lot that was adjacent to the building, so we didn't have to search for an on-street spot, or walk blocks to get there (it was raining pretty good the day we were there). Overall, we would absolutely recommend the Bone & Broth to others and will eat there again the next time we are in Asheville.

Basic bar and grill accommodations. Wood-topped table mot as clean as it should have been. Our wait person was excellent and knowledgeable about the menu.
While the ingredients used were all of good quality the cooking did not do them justice. The smoked white fish was very nice. The fried calamari with pickled vegetables appetizer was very skimpy on the shrimp and all vegetables. The lamb chops were properly cooked but the accompanying mashed potatoes were so garlicky they spoiled the dish. All vegetable sides were seriously undercooked. The restaurant was quiet so it is surprising the dishes disappointed more in terms of preparation than ingredients.
Overall a disappointing first visit and hard to recommend it in a town with many excellent competitors. Maybe it was just a bad night.

We had a very nice evening and experience at Bone & Broth. The service was prompt and friendly. We had the manager come by several times to check on us. It was obvious they were focused on providing a top-notch dining experience.
The food was very good. My spouse raved about her shrimp and grits, saying it was the best she's had in a long time. I had the aged bone-in steak and it was grilled exactly to my request. A very nice cut of meat, well seasoned and enjoyable. We started with calamari and the bread plate, both of which were nicely done. The drinks were very nicely done.
The only minor glitch was my mashed potatoes were not hot, but slightly warm. I know I could have sent them back and I'm sure they would have taken care of it, but they were quite busy and I felt the steak would have cooled off by the time I got them back so I let it slide. Not a huge deal, but surprising.
Overall a very pleasant evening and a place I would recommend.

Chose Bone & Broth for brunch on a Saturday around noon. Nice ambiance and friendly service. We sat at a table by the window which was a bonus. Though the oysters they have for dinner weren't on the lunch menu, our server said it wouldn't likely be a problem to secure them, and she did. We shared the deviled egg trio, wedge salad, and shrimp and grits. Each was unique in some small way which was mostly successful. The eggs had a piquant buffalo sauce and smoked bleu cheese which gave them a dynamite kick, only they were a touch on the overly salty side, likely due to the buffalo sauce used in the filling. The wedge salad was huge, and the roasted cherry tomatoes were a nice touch which accentuated the smoked bleu cheese. However, the dressing wasn't very substantial and the onions were few in number. Finally, the shrimp and grits were a mixed bag. The shrimp were fried which was fine, and the creamy cheddar grits were among the best I've had in years. However, the braised collards had a diablo sauce that overwhelmed not only the greens but the rest of the dish, as well. It wasn't overly spicy hot, just over the top vinegar that arrested my taste buds. I wound up pushing those to the side and dug into the wonderful grits. Wine selection was unique, too, and though we aren't huge beer drinkers, they have quite a selection. We'd certainly go back next time we're in town just to try some of their other dishes and, hopefully, have another eclectic southern experience.

Everything we had was delicious, but the broth appetizer was the prize of the meal ... it was a cup of broth full of so much flavor. I'd go back just for that. My son loved the chicken fajita macaroni and cheese. The chef's cut the night we went was a 40 day dry-aged strip which was delicious. The whole meal start to finish was fantastic. Service was spot on.

We went for Burger and Beer Night, The burger was delicious, and cooked exactly to our specifications. The meat was high-quality, and the accompanying caramelized onions, bacon, and sauce were perfect. The paired beer went well with the sandwich. The service was very good, attentive but not overdone, and we felt like valued customers although it was only our first time there. The Burger and Beer Night is also a good deal!

We (6 of us) ordered the steak specials ($42/steak), and 5 out of 6 steaks were badly overcooked. Medium rare steaks had a hint of pink in the center but were mostly well-done. My one friend, who has worked in restaurants his entire life, had three bites of the 14 oz dry-aged strip, hoping it would get more rare towards the center, and then gave the rest away.
We had also ordered two bottles of red wine when we ordered our appetizers (which were all very good). The first bottle didn't hit our table until our steaks were all served, and we weren't drinking the wine until well into our third and fourth bites. We ended up drinking only the first bottle and sending the second back as we were already finished with our meals. I addressed all of the above with our server when I paid our tab and she politely apologized.

My wife and I have eaten here twice in the last year and we were SO pleased with the service, food, presentation and quality of the build-out inside; all are just stellar. In a town where so many Exec. Chefs are so carried away with gilding-the-lily and over-saucing their dishes, it is an increasingly rare pleasure to patronize a restaurant where the chef consistently demonstrates restraint, and allows EVERY dish to have a distinct DIVA and a few supporting actors who are not trying to steal the show.
So why not 5 starts??
Sadly, the owners feel that no fine-dining establishment is complete without a TELEVISION set (playing sports) visible from every table. So what might otherwise be a small and romantic culinary haunt, instead shares a little something with the atmosphere of the locker room at the YMCA, sadness.

Very cute restaurant with a really interesting menu. The execution of the food wasn't great. Food wasn't terrible, but it could have been much better with better execution. For example, the kitchen could not cook a medium duck and my wife's medium steak was way overdone.
Despite these snafus, the service was excellent. Definitely worth giving them a shot, just not for a special occasion.

Great grilled caesar salad with beef tips (and wonderfully smoky bacon bits). Denver steak was flavorful but a little on the tough side. Nice selection of wines and local beers. Collard greens were awesome, as was the charred broccoli. We had the buffalo deviled eggs topped with bleu cheese for an appetizer. They were delicious!

I would recommend with a caveat: Don't order any fish. I know it's a "meaty" restaurant, but most places in Asheville provide other options. My husband's vegetarian pasta was fabulous, though under-seasoned. My fish had been frozen, I'm sure. The flesh was rubbery and not very flavorful, and the root vegetables were far under-cooked. The server was pretty hand-off, which I like. It was Sunday morning, which means lots of places have long lines in Asheville. If this place got its act together, it could have crowds for brunch. There were only two tables with customers. Nice bakery next door! And the area will be booming soon, I'm sure.
Susan , I am glad you would recommend even with a caveat. You are right the Wahoo we use for the fish sandwich is frozen. That is the only fish that is frozen on our menu. We wanted to be able to offer a fish sandwich at a reasonable lunch price that is why we chose a quality frozen product. I am looking into why yours was rubbery. B&B have significantly expanded their menu. A meal of shared appetizers is a great choice as is a big hunk of red meat. Oysters on the half-shell selection is awesome. This is not a chain restaurant, though, so expect the tab to reflect that.

The Fudge Brownie was one of the best desserts I have ever had. I am going to go back just for that. My meal was also excellent and the service was spot on.

Although we go to B&B often this review is for their Thursday night Prime Rib night. Very good product and price. Our server was very friendly as she always is. Knowledgeable and helpful without being overly busy with us. B&B is our local's go to spot for a meal on short notice and we are happy they are in our neighborhood.
