BONDST Ratings and Reviews
The Szechuan yellowtail, salmon ceviche, cauliflower tempura, wild yellow tail sushi and squid ink pasta were excellent.
The bread pudding may have been the best that I’ve ever had.
Spicy tuna roll was good but overpriced. Scallops were mediocre. Wouldn’t order it again. Drinks tasted good but really didn’t have much alcohol. The lychee martini tasted good but I expect a martini to be strong. Drinks were way overpriced. Not worth ordering the cocktails. Wouldn’t have minded paying $18 if the drink was strong.
This place is worth every minute waited, every dollar spent, and every ounce of hype. I took a friend from China here who is regularly unimpressed with NY dining (felt eh about Eleven Madison), and he loved it!!
The kakiage inanawa (seafood tempura) noodles were insane. Almost like fish ‘n chips from Japan; the broth was perfection, and the seafood tempura came as a pancake. Perfect for sharing or solo. We also loved the grilled wagyu steak. It came sizzling on a dish, and cooked to perfection on a bed of kimchi and root vegetables.
For the main, I cannot emphasize enough how incredible the Chilean sea bass was. Oh my god. Best in the city, hands down. I know this is what BondSt is known for, so you may want to be unique and order something different, but you’re missing out if you haven’t tried this. Just perfect.
Dessert was inventive and beautiful! Special, really. The ricotta cup sounds odd, and it was, but I don’t regret ordering it. Wouldn’t recommend because parts of the parfait were still frozen, so they haven’t quite nailed the textures and temperatures, but the concept was there.
Overall, a gem of a fusion restaurant, with amazing cocktails, vivacious servers, and a foolproof menu. Will be back soon!
I spent New year's Eve at Bondst with my family, my father is Japanese and travels often to Japan, he said "this sushi is better than the ones I've tried in Tokyo".
The unaghi niguiri was just awesome, also the blue fin tuna and the mochi green tea ice cream.
I highly recommend this place, we had such an amazing dinner!
My husband and I have been coming to Bondst for 15 years. The food never has disappointed us, it’s always delicious. We live in Bethpage and do not mind the drive, that’s how amazing it is. My 9 year old daughter is obsessed with the spicy crispy shrimp! She gets her own order when we bring her. Spicy tuna roll is the best I have ever had and I love sushi! Thank you Bondst you are the best😍❤️
Enjoyed food immensely, nice atmosphere and wait staff was very attentive. I ordered the sea bass and it was delicious and the steamed vegetables were a perfect accompaniment. Very nice wine selection, we had the Pinot Noir from Oregon (bottle only). Celebrating my friend’s birthday and she truly enjoyed it!
Was overall realty pleased with the food and service. The broiled Chilean sea bass, chicken dumplings, and octopus were some highlights. Decent cocktails but nothing to write home about. Same for dessert overall, although the banana tarte tatin was really nice.
Given how similar upmarket sushi-places can be, BondSt has fallen behind the times when compared to the likes of Nobu, and even Koi. The portions are smaller than both for no good reason, and the server was haughty.
Wine list was great and sesame shrimp roll was phenomenal, but overall, you're better off going to one of the above. More bang for your buck.
Absolutely amazing food every time we go! Our favorite restaurant in the world, and we have been going for 19 years (since it opened) and never been disappointed.
I recommend sitting at the sushi counter, best experience chatting with the Sushi chefs. The food is fresh, creative and always superbly served. I can’t find enough words to say how much we enjoy BondSt
AMAZING as always! I've been several times already and BOND ST simply NEVER disappoints. It's always very busy, no matter what day you come, service is EXCEPTIONAL (very professional, friendly, discreet, seriously top notch), and the food is just 100%! So worth the money -- I will say that yes, it is expensive, but if you're looking for truly authentic & good quality Japanese, this is it. This time we came on a Monday evening and were seated in the back area by the kitchen and it's been my favorite experience so far. Was amazing seeing the chefs work & interact and there was a guest at the bar who celebrated his birthday and when they brought out the birthday cake all the chefs stopped working and sang "happy birthday" and it was truly heartfelt and so energetic, really great! Our waiter was amazing, food was amazing, everything was top notch & truly perfect. Will always recommend!
Little loud, little tight, the food took a little while to come out, the service comped 2 drinks. Besides that, the food was excellent, every single course was on point not one slip, highly recommend if you are into food. Cocktails and saki was very good, dessert was good. Overall I would highly recommend bondst if you don't mind the tighter space and some noise.
Terrific service. Food was quite good, but one dish was inedible. Server removed from our bill without us asking, which was nice. The problem was the crowd - loud, rude, and crude. It was the absolute stereotype of rich, disconnected, inauthentic 20 and 30 somethings.
