BONDST Ratings and Reviews
very expensive for very little.very expensive cocktails that are basically 3 sips. the appetizers were good - but the sushi...i could definitely get much better for less money. waitress not very attentive and after just 10 minutes of signing the check, the maitre d promptly came over to tell us we had to leave because there were people waiting for our table. after laying out $100 each, i could definitely get a better meal elsewhere. last time i ever eat there
We were looking forward to dining at this restaurant given the hype that surrounds it. However, the experience was less than pleasing on all accounts. We went on a Wednesday night and had to fight our way through crowds at the door. We were then left at a table for half an hour, clutching our drink and food menus. We had no specific waiter appointed to us and only managed to order a drink after hailing down a rather unimpressed looking staff member. The food was average, the noise level was ridiculous and we would not bother going back.
The food at Bond Street has always been highly rated. The sushi was good but I wouldn't say it was the best sushi ever. I've had more inventive sushi at other restaurants. Bond Street's reputation is that this is a hot spot and it was jumping on a Wednesday night. Service was good for the amount of people in the restaurant. My experience was just "good" - not fabulous and certainly not a place that I'll head back to anytime soon.
Went there for the sea bass I herd was the best. Its equal, but overall the rest of the appetizers and remaining food were ok.For my money and an overall New York experience in a resturant,You can,t beat the Blue Water grill in Union Square.Everything at blue water is allways spot on and the scene is "NEW YORK". Bondst is much more expensive for less. Not dissapointed, just wasn,t what I had hoped for.
I loved BONDST....the food was outstanding. The mini tuna pizzas drizzled with white truffle oil were delicious. My favorite was a scallop maki with a jalepeno dipping mayo. The scallops were sweet, tender and melted in your mouth. I have to go back and try other dishes. My only problem was that their martini glasses are so tiny for a $16.00 Grey Goose...three sips and its gone. Its like what you are served at a cheap wedding. Get larger glasses so we can have a substantial drink please. No good restaurant in N.Y. serves any kind of martinis in glasses like that anymore....
very nice night at bondst. sushi and cod entree were delicious. very good options. we went on the earlier side - at 6pm on a monday. it actually worked to our benefit because it was nice and quiet at that point. by 8pm it was hard to carry on a conversation... but all of it was well worth the food and the ambiance was ideal.
went for Valentine's day dinner with Craig, some of the best sushi/food either of us has ever had, hands down! Great atmosphere, nice service, wonderful menu and amazing experience! Loved the king crab crispy rice, the sundried tomato and avocado roll, the banana milk chocolate dim sum dumplings, the donuts with matcha hot chocolate, the lychee martini, the complimentary edamame and liked the sesame crusted shrimp roll. Craig loved his special tasmanian salmon sashimi and his short rib appetizer and liked the yuba dumplings, hitachino beer and the tuna crispy rice. mmmmm, cannot wait to return, absolutely worth every dollar!! an incredible dining experience
Went for restaurant week. The food was good but small portions. The "main dining room" is more appropriate for big groups as it is VERY loud. I was a little turned off when the maitre d' told me to take the elevator up to the "upstairs dining room" but was very happy once I got up there. Much more appropriate atmosphere for a couple.
Food and service were excellent, and ambiance attractive. However, bar downstairs wasn't clearly marked, so went there by mistake. Was sent to 3rd floor, then to 2nd floor, then back to 3rd floor. We requested a quiet table, which they gave us. All was going well until a party of 10 arrived, then another large party. The room became so noisy we had to shout across our tiny table for 2. After a short time, it was so oppressive that we left instead of ordering more.
Restaurant week menu was fantastic. I have dined here several times before with my family and it is always one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Sashimi and rolls are terrific and I have yet to have sushi this good anywhere else in NYC, including Nobu, Masa, etc. Also the shrimp appetizer and sea bass are absolutely incredible and always cooked to perfection.
I love BondSt. I have eaten here three times and been impressed every time. The food is always flavorful and fresh and prepared creatively. When I was eating the spicy tuna rolls I closed my eyes and was transported to another world. It's expensive, but worth it!
I went to Bond Street during Restaurant Week, so my meal was different than what many may be eating at the restaurant. Their restuarant week menu was plentiful and delicious: soup or salad, a plate with sushi or sashimi, a few little rolls and appetizers, delicious shrimp, and sea bass cooked in a tasty sauce. I also had the sake pairing, which was wonderful. I really enjoyed the food and the experience and look forward to eating at Bond Street again.
Went for Restaurant Week, it was amazing! One of the best Restaurant Week menus I have had in a long time. They covered all the bases, amazing appetizers, bento box, and a fantastic piece of Chilean sea bass, not to mention the Sake Flight..I cannot wait to go back there and try other things on the menu!
we were sat at the table by the kitchen, which the guests in our party didn't like. If they had told us (which we witnessed) that in 15 minutes, the rest of the ground floor would pretty much be clearing out since it was already past 10pm, perhaps we would've waited for a table where you'd hear less kitchen noise of plates clanking around. other than that, bondst was good as usual.
We returned to BondSt this weekend after being introduced to it a couple of years previously by a local friend. We were visiting from out of town and remembered our great experience and wanted to return. We had reservations at 10:00pm, and were not seated until after 10:30pm, also after 2 couples were seated before us that came in after us. My husband gave stern looks to the hostesses and we were finally seated. This is all part of the game of trendy NYC restaurants. I hate it. But, BondSt redeemed itself when the waitress brought over a complimentary appetizer to start and then also comp'd our drinks and dessert since we had such a long wait WITH a reservation. The food was as delicious as we remember and the table service is excellent.
