That food wad generally good, except there was a very long strand of hair in our calamari platter. They took it away, but never really apologized or replaced it. Ultimately, we weren’t charged for it, but nobody took any steps to make it better. It’s kind of disappointing for the level of service they portray themseles are in. I’ll have to think twice about combing back.
Food tasted very good, quite large portions.
Excellent food, service, atmosphere. Will be back!
Springsteen on Broadway! Great pre-show dinner! Amazing Strip Steak! Appetizers, atmosphere! Get the S’more Pizza for dessert. So much fun. We’ll be back!
My daughter and I were so excited to visit this restaurant bc we heard nice reviews, and it was across from the theater. We were greeted kindly and seated quickly downstairs, which was lovely. Nice atmosphere (interesting lighting, TV screens with scenes of water like we were lake/oceanside), a good cozy but comfortable table for us ladies (bigger guys might feel tight). We waited for a while until someone took our drink order. Then our main waiter showed up and provided a gluten free menu when I asked. Both the regular and GF menus were very limited, but there were a couple of selections for us. I ordered the lobster/avocado salad but was then told they didn't have it. I ended up with a "Marilena" salad (who? Apparently, the owner's wife), which had pomegranate and chicken (the chicken was not all that tasty; felt kind of "old"; not as fresh as I would have expected). We shared a burrata which was excellent. The freshest tomatoes and basil; really delicious. Ma daughter had the steak which she said was "good". The second glass of wine was forgotten, as was the dessert. The bill was provided before we received dessert. The waiter was apologetic but we are pretty easy diners, no high-maintenance requests, and it seemed he just couldn't get it right. I wasn't impressed. In (our most fave and local) city, which is chock-full of great restaurants with fantastic and professional service, this one fell short. Not likely going back. Won't recommend to others, either.
Service was attentive and friendly when we first arrived but slowed considerably as evening wore in and show time neared. Took over 25 minutes to get coffee and very dry chocolate chip pecan cookie (not recommended). The appetizer and entrees were delicious and the price about what we expected.
Always a great pre-theater option. Food consistently good. Lighter options and full dinners. Has been one of my favorite go-to restaurants in the theater district for years. Never disappoints.
Location is everything and Bond 45 is in the ULTIMATE location. Across from the Hamilton Theater, the massive and popular Times Square Marriott and close to the Shubert Theater, along with a dozen others, you can have a lovely pre-theater meal and not panic about making it to your show on time. The food and service are perfection. Try the antipast plate as a starter. So many wonderful veggies to chose from and then you won't feel guilty about the pasta or entree you are about to embark on. Lunch and dinner, this is the place to be (reservations are highly recommended).
The location is great. The food was very salty. We had difficulties getting the attention of the wait staff.
Solved that we could share an antipasto plate with plenty of food, even had leftover. There were creative choices and very delicious.
Great pre-theater dining in Theater District -- and not what you'd run into every day!
Tables a little close to each other and place was very busy but didn't give you the feeling of being rushed!
We just had meals and no dessert -- reasonably priced and very good!
Great food, attentive staff. My kids were happy, too! Perfect spot for pre theatre dining.
Slow service- we arrived before any other patrons. Extremely salty food from the starters to the main courses- everyone’s food was over salted. Expensive for what we received. Would not recommend.
Food is really. It that good. The famed chicken Parmesan was cold and soggy.
The burrata was also not very good. Lacked texture. Just goop.
My new favorite go to restaurant in the theatre district !! Can't wait to go back !
Tasty. Efficient service: it was a pre-theater dinner w/time restraints (to make an 8 curtain). Pleasant, lively ambiance.
Excellent services. Good portions small but very good..
The restaurant is clean, has good lighting ,spacious and waiters are pleasant and very attentive. The salmon was superb, the margarita pizza was phenomenal but the eggplant parmigiana was mediocre. Dessert ( cheesecake and Black Forest cake) was wonderful.
My family enjoyed this restaurant.
Service was sub par, the food was decent. Eggs were over priced
Excelente como siempre!!
Fantastic food & service in a cozy environment. Would definitely visit again.
Miss the old space but this is a smaller version with the same great atmosphere. They still bring around the tray of chocolate chip cookies and have the toffee in the bowl on the way out but I did miss the chocolate mousse and whip cream served out of the bucket - they do still have the mousse though. Chicken parm with vodka sauce was too delicious!
The food was incredible, and the ambiance was perfect.
Nice ambience for our group of 5. Friendly service. Terrific appetizers and cocktails. Entrees were almost superfluous. The gluten-free menu was a bonus. I’d definitely return.
We picked Bond 45 randomly due to its ratings and distance between our hotel and our show that evening. We actually had to bump our reservation a little later due to us running behind and the staff was very accommodating when I called. The staff was very friendly from the moment we got there, and the hostess stand area and bar were both beautiful to look at while we waited to give them our names. The antipasto station was right in front of us with the chefs plating dishes and we were immediately starving. We sat at our table and had a very nice and very quick meal (very much appreciated since we had show tickets) without feeling like we were being rushed. We enjoyed the cocktail for 2 (delicious and so cute), the burratta appetizer, spaghetti and shortrib meatballs (excellent), and the chicken parm (also excellent). For being in the heart of Times Square and Broadway, the pricing was very reasonable for how delicious the food was. My only complaint, and this is a minor one, is that our table was squeezed into a very tight row of 2 top tables. We had to move our table to get in and out of one of the seats and there was barely any space between us and the other patrons. It didn't bother us that much because the ambiance was great as well as the service. We would definitely go back if we were in the neighborhood again.
Good food & service but overpriced
Nice for breakfast
We waited 20 minutes even though we arrived on time for our reservation. Food was just ok and not very hot. The place was packed with pre theater customers, but then totally empty by 7pm. Wouldn’t recommend.
We were pleasantly surprised because the theatre district doesn’t generally have the finest restaurants. It’s a pretty space, especially downstairs. The staff was very friendly and kind. I loved the long bar full of different vegetables. We shared a plate of 3. The caponata was the best I’ve had. I only gave3 stars for the food because I didn’t love the rigatoni/eggplant parmigiana and the pizza was good but not great. I would return though!
Bond 45 is just a great restaurant - very good food, excellent service. Being in the heart of the Theatre district, they understand many of their early diners are going to a show so they move things along at a good pace - not rushed in any way, but drinks, ordering, meal service, and check all move along at a comfortable pace. The food is excellent and portions are healthy. I defy anyone to finish the Chicken Parmigiana alla Vodka - an entire plate of tasty cheesy goodness. I loved every bite but couldn't get it done. Our most recent visit was my wife's birthday - the staff even put a sparkler on her chocolate mousse and sang the birthday song.
My husband and I dined here before a show on a Thursday night. The staff was very friendly, but the service was on the slow side. The food was just ok. The “warm” lobster salad is not warm, kind of on the smallish side, and nothing exciting. My husband’s steak was good, but overpriced. The truffle fries are good. With all of the options to eat out in NYC, we will definitely be looking elsewhere next time.
Love this place before or after the theater.
Friendly, atmospheric olace with authentic Italian flair.
When it was announced that Bond 45 was closing in 2015 I was distraught! It was always my go-to place for pre and post theatre. So when they reopened in a new space last year nobody was happier than me! The upstairs evokes the old space, and downstairs you feel like you're dining in Italy. The food is, as it ever was, fabulous! A little pricey but worth it!
Pretty disappointing. Hadn’t been since they moved and was very excited- had great memories of the food and old space. This one felt more crowded and less tasteful and louder. I had a medium filet that was charred too much on the outside. Husband had the veal parm which was delicious. We made sure to save room for the chocolate mousse. The former presentation with the silver serving vessel and fresh whipped cream was so decadent. We received a plate with a ball of mousse. No spoons. I asked for some whipped cream when we did get spoons but they said no whipped cream. The food was decent and the service ok, but it’s just not the dining experience I remembered. We used to host out of town guests there for pre-theatre dinners often - there was something very special/old New York about it. It is decent now but reminded me more of dining at any chain style restaurant than a special spot in New York.
I had not been back to Bond 45 since they opened in their new site. I was pleased to see that the décor closely resembled that of the former site. While the menu is somewhat limited, my roasted chicken was excellent and next time we will order from the appetizer bar as well. the service was excellent and we never felt rushed. This is a great stop for pre or post theater.
THis was a great find for an early dinner after a matinee. I had great, friendly service as a lone diner and that's not true everywhere. It got crowded as I was leaving. It's good almost any time of day for a variety of meals or snacks.
We were a party of 4 for lunch. We sat with another party of 4 at an 8 top which was a bit uncomfortable. Our server started out being very attentive, but When it came time to ask for our check he vanished. Ten minutes later we received our check and then after waiting nearly 10 more minutes we needed to approach the server to let him know we would like our payment to be processed. Other than those 2 disappointing aspects, the food was quite good and the rest of the waitstaff was friendly and efficient.
Great greeting. All so friendly!
