About Bond 45
Bond 45, a New York Italian Kitchen & Bar was originally located on 45th street in the former historic Bond Clothing Store (1948-1977), is now open in its new home on 46th street. Bond 45 is best known for its vegetable antipasto bar which offers a rotating selection of market vegetables and features an expansive menu that include specialty veal chops, seafood, house made pasta, thin crust pizza and breakfast serves breakfast all day.

Private Party Facilities:
The private dining room, called The Villa, can accommodate parties of up to 50 guests for a seated reception or 70 guests for a standing cocktail reception. The entire downstairs dining room, called Bond Bar Below, can accommodated up to 200 guests and includes 2 alluring lounge areas equipped with working fireplaces, a sunken patio, charming alcoves and 2 bars.
Bond 45’s main floor dining room can accommodate up to 200, and a full buyout of the restaurant can accommodate up to 400 guests.

When we got here it was very busy, the hostess was a little overwhelmed and one of the managers as well. As we were standing waiting and wondering if we were even going to get help another manager swooped in and took over and got us sat and on our way. From that point we had a super sweet gracious waitress (w/red hair) she did very well in the midst of chaos as did some of the other managers floating around.
The food was not very good though, that was the down fall, I hate paying high prices for mediocre food...
We went there for a pre theater dinner. It was truly chaotic! Crowds waiting to get checked in! The service once we finally did get in was very slow. We had left plenty of time for a relaxing dinner but the service was so slow we were afraid we might get to the theater on time. This being said if you go here you must leave plenty of time if you don't want to be worried.
Huge fans of the “Classic” Spaghetti Carbonara on 45th but we tried the new Carbonara which exchanges pastrami
“oy-vey” for pancetta, we were left unimpressed. Although the pastrami itself was very good and the poached egg was done perfectly, my recommendation would be “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
I am a retired restaurateur of 25 years from Brooklyn and am usually very protective, understanding and compassionate of the industry and it’s trials & tribulations.
Caesar Salad- Family Style $28. is a small head of Romaine lettuce UNCUT with 3 Parmesan crisps. $28... Really!
My kids ordered the Gooey Pizza, which was made with Burrata Cheese. Sounds good! Unless you serve it on a pizza crust that took thin to such a new level, that it couldn’t support the topping.

And last but not least; “The Uninterested Server” that would rather be anywhere except taking care of the table until they drop the check and then you get a little tickle to ensure their tip is adequate BUT certainly not representative of their effort. In fairness, the busboy staff was excellent- attentive, courteous & efficient.
In conclusion- I am living by the words I preach to my children. “Don’t complain a problem to me without offering a solution”
1- Offer both Carbonara’s- Classic & the “Oy-Vey”.
2- Be price considerate- If your preparing a classic Caesar salad TABLESIDE, then I could understand the $28 but ...
3- Pizza- you should be able to figure that out yourself.
4- The Uninterested Server! This is a big issue for me, as it was my favorite time in the business. Promote the staff that want to be there and have “Pride of Service”.
My first time there was with 20 people including my 2yo son. The server, while handling the entire table, allowed my wife & I the time to enjoy the 17 guests we invited so we’ll that we still reference him & that he made us BOND 45 fans for life.
My intention is that a little attention now can SAVE BOND 45, I remember.
I made a reservation at Bond 45 as part of a girls’ day out. We had traveled to NYC to see a show and the reviews along with the proximity to the theater made this a good option. Our reservation for 6 was at 12:15. We arrived at noon and they did seat us right away. The ambiance was nice. However, the service was SLOW! The waitress asked if we had time constraints at which time we advised that we had show tickets for 2pm. Our food didn’t arrive until 1:25. People who came in after us were done their meals before we got served. We ended up hurrying through half of our meal so we weren’t late for the show. I understand things happen but the waitress wasn’t very apologetic nor did she seem like she was worried about our time constraints that she herself had asked us about upon our arrival at noon. The food was a half and half review from our group. My chicken Parmesan was very good and the lasagna got rave reviews. The pancakes were served cold and without butter or syrup (had to request). All in all, maybe it was just one of those “things” but I certainly wouldn’t recommend this place if you have somewhere to be.
The food was great, we split the Tomahawk Ribeye and it did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked at Medium Rare. All in all, the dining experience was great however during busy times (when we went around 7:45) expect to have slower service. Although the service was at times was slow they made up for it with consistency and delicious food.
We tried Bond 45 at it's new location and had a great experience for dinner. You can dine on the first floor or one floor below. Both spaces are beautifully decorated and cozy and nicely lit. The waitstaff really hustles and the managers go out of their way to make sure your experience is a good one. We will definitely return for another night of great food and fun.
What a delightful restaurant! Atmosphere is joyful and delicious menu matches the mood. Excellent prepared salmon, delicious meatballs, “ginormous” desserts. And the complimentary “just out of the oven” chocolate chip cookies added to the festivities. Great theater - pre-theater!!!
We ate here before our show. What I loved about them is we were stuck in traffic in an uber and were going to be late for our reserved time and we called and they were great and said not to worry and kept our spot. We ended up being 20 minutes late and they seated us right off and took our stress level right down. We had a great spot in the restaurant too for the 6 of us. Some of us like our food a lot and other thought it was ok. The two that had the spaghetti and meatballs said it was beyond excellent. The ladies all got salads and it was ok. The apps were great. The friend artichokes, YUM! And the bread they give you was to die for. I would definitely go here again but would skip the salads. They had plenty of other items. Our waiter was a bit slow to our needs but the waitstaff helper was awesome. He should have gotten the tip.
We eat here after seeing Kinky Boots. The ambience was beautiful, we were seated downstairs, and perfect for casual or a romantic experience. The food was delicious! The bread they served was baked fresh, the Fettuccine Alfredo which had chicken and truffle oil was outstanding and the Cab from Mondovi vineyards was superb!
Ate downstairs based on previous review recommendation. Great atmosphere, wonderful service and outstanding food. Had calamari appetizer, husband had lasagna and I had the tortellini bolognese-homemade pasta....both were excellent and huge portions. Split the brussels...they were very tasty. Topped it off by splitting the chocolate mousse -highly recommend! Restaurant was right across from hotel and just what we were looking for after a day of sightseeing!
Keep looking if you want a satisfying Italian food. The calamari and broccolini were good but the pastas were disappointing. Pastrami, as it turns out, is no substitute for pancetta in Carbonara. The paperadelli with eggplant was just a lump. Maybe the fish and meat ate better or I’ll just keep looking.
We enjoyed this restaurant. We asked to be seated downstairs near the hanging lights and they happily accomodated our request. If you want a quieter setting then you should ask to sit downstairs. The food was great, the lasagna is delicious but so filling and rich that I could not finish half the dish. Service was amazing, every time our wine glass was empty the server was there right away to refill from our bottle. Oh, and the cheesecake was one of the best we ever had.
We got to experience Bond 45 before the renovations. Kind of disappointed with the menu and changes. No baked cookies anymore. We had reservations for 2 @7:00 PM, I called in at 4:30 to see about adding 2 more to the party. They could not keep the 7:00 PM time and pushed it up to 8:15 PM.
In NYC for the day, we enjoyed our lunch here before the matinee. There was a nice selection of varied offerings - one could order Italian specialties, brunch items, salads or seafood. Everything we sampled was delicious. Our waitress has very pleasant, professional and efficient. We were greeted warmly by the maître d' and treated in a very friendly manner by all.
