Bond 45 - National Harbor Ratings and Reviews
When there the day after Valentine’s Day. There weren’t too many people so service was prompt. Heard a lot about the meatballs but they were lackluster in my opinion. Would not get again. My husband got the scallops w/ mushroom risotto. I got the lobster ravioli. Both were delicious! The staff were great. Polite and responsive. Will return
I was one of the first customers who went when 45 openedmy only issue is you used to get warm cookies throughout the meal and they were bigger and the type of popover that they used to serve were different so it seems that they stream line the menu to cut costs and I definitely understand but I’d like to see some of those things come back but I was happy Also the cowboy ribeye
This was my 4th time at BONDS45, the first 3 being under the guise of a steakhouse. As a steakhouse, I found it to be rather expensive for a not-so-outstanding steak. This last visit was during "Restaurant Week", and I ordered all Italian dishes, as the restaurant considers itself to be an Italian Restaurant. Needless to say, it fell way below my expectations. I do not expect to return.
We were there to celebrate two retirements. The manager, John Edward, greeted us and could not have been more customer friendly and made us feel as though we were the only people there. We talked with him about the restaurant as well as the one in New York. He is truly an asset to the restaurant. Following him the server was excellent as well. Again, they made it a fantastic celebration and very memorable. The food was great and the desserts were phenomenal. This was one of the best experiences we have had. We highly recommend the restaurant!
There were 5 tables in this private section, currently being served. One (1) table, of just 2 guests, decided that it was too hot for them in the room. Instead of asking the other paying customers if they were warm/hot also, a hostess comes in and turns off both heaters, one of which was directly behind me, and opens the doors that led into the main restaurant. I thought this was very unprofessional and very unethical since we were paying guests, with a larger party, also! Because I was cold, I myself, turned the heater back on to a low setting which was what she could have done as well. NOT turn the heat completely off.
Food was excellent and so was the service. They don't have a kids menu which I didn't like, but the waiter went out of his way to find chocolate syrup so he could make our son chocolate milk. Very nice atmosphere but a bit on the noisy side. It was a bit pricey but everything in that area was pricey...
Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Bond 45! I had the chicken parmigiana and it was delicious--and huge! Our server immediately brought us bread and butter, and his service throughout the evening was great. Very attentive, but gave us plenty of time to enjoy our meal uninterrupted. After we were finished eating, someone came around with complementary freshly baked mini chocolate chip cookies which was an extra special treat. I can't wait to come back!
We celebrated my husband's birthday on Saturday evening and everything was terrific. We ate family style and there was so much food! Many people in our group felt it was the best Italian food they've had. Thanks for a wonderful evening and delicious food! We will definitely be back!
We visited there for my fiancé’s birthday. From the moment we entered, it was perfect. Our waiter was amazing! They sat us in this private room with a nice view. It was perfectly lit for our romantic occassion. The wine, complimentary prosseco, entrees and birthday dessert were amazing! Will definitely be back!
Bond 45 was delicious! I highly recommend the chicken parm, it was unlike anything I have had before. Our waiter was great and the meal was fantastic. However, one thing distracted me the entire time. We were placed right next to the hostess station. The entire time she was hunched over the desk with her head resting in her hand texting. I have worked in the industry and this is a major no no especially when there are customers sitting directly next to you. I realize it was late but I couldn’t help but be annoyed and wished we had a different seat.
I had the NY strip w/ broccolini ($5 up charge for the broccolini b/c I didn't want the mashed potatoes that it normally comes on the side). I asked for Medium and even asked the server if I should order Medium-Rare just in case the steak gets too done, he said I would be good to go w/ Medium -- inevitably, the steak was cooked Medium-Well, but still had great flavor and juiciness so I kept it. Broccolini was slightly overcooked, but not terribly mushy -- had great butter and garlic flavor to it.
Husband had the surf and turf w/ broccolini, again a $5 up charge for that veg over mashed potatoes. Filet seemed pretty huge and was cooked Medium-Well again, although he asked for Medium. Lobster was meh, a little over cooked so it was a little chalky, but with butter it wasn't too bad.
When we got the bill, the surf and turf showed up at $63, but I know I had seen it as $53 on the menu. We asked the server about it and he said there's a choice of 6oz or 8oz filet, for $53 and $63, respectively. We were skeptical, but paid the bill anyways and planned to grab coffee at the bar and check out the menu.
The bar was dead so we just checked the menu and there was no mention of surf and turf options, just the $53 one.
We brought it to the attention of the manager and he was profusely apologetic and said he would fix the bill and then some. We said we would be happy with just a $10 adjustment down from our bill since, the meal was other wise enjoyable. He insisted that he wanted to make things right and do better than that and came back w/ the whole surf and turf removed from the check. He offered drinks at the bar and appreciated us for stopping by for dinner.
We admitted to feeling bad about complaining, but he said that he'd rather know immediately of any dissatisfaction so that he could do something to ameliorate our experience instead of letting us leave salty and potentially write up a bad review -- makes a lot of sense to me!
I don't even know where to begin with this review because everything was beyond exceptional. This was a shot in the dark when I was making the reservation at Bond 45 and was just praying that it was just close to my expectations since it was a two day get away for my wife's birthday. When we arrived we were seated promptly in a small quaint back dining room which gave the feel of a more intimate environment. Within minutes we were greeted with a young lady taking beverage orders which was promptly followed by our waiter for the evening who is responsible for this glowing review. I wish I had the gentleman's name but unfortunately I left without writing it down. He provided nothing less than a royal treatment throughout the evening. Never rushing us - was not intrusive - always very polite and a professional in every way. I mentioned in my on-line reservation that this was my wife's birthday dinner without really thinking that it would be something that they would concern themselves with; however, we were served with a complimentary glass of champagne before dinner and just after dinner our waiter complimented us with a glass of very good limoncillo. I ordered their fantastic tiramisu to enjoy with my coffee. When it arrived it was accompanied by a 'birthday cake' designed from a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream with a candle in it and surrounded by a fluffy cotton candy outer layer designed into a cake shape. It was awesome and my wife was very surprised at the attention her birthday was given. The food was also as outstanding as the service which made for one of the best culinary experiences we ever had. Thank you to everyone at Bond 45 at National Harbor
We had an early dinner, so it was not very crowded. The wait staff was very attentive, but not always in our faces. Our wine, apps and dinner were served pretty quickly and the food was nice and hot so I know it wasn't sitting around. I got the crab ravioli. It was very good. My fiancee had the crab cake with shrimp, also very good. He said it was not the typical MD crab cake and was seasoned differently than just dumping Old Bay into it. At the end of the meal they brought around a cookie sheet full of tiny, warm, freshly baked cookies. I had to take one! It was delish.
What an amazing meal! Food was delicious- loved the Chicken Parm - large portion and delicious! Also the meatballs were out of this world. The manager was exceptional- so attentive- my daughter was really hungry when we got there so he brought her our some of their award tasting meatballs. Great atmosphere and delicious food. Will definitely go back!
Darren and the staff of Bond 45 were absolutely amazing. Thank you for helping make my husband’s birthday memorable. The service and food was impeccable. I highly recommend this location and while Darren is by far my favorite server I stand behind the entire staff. You definitely won’t go wrong. The parties meals ranged from Chicken Alfredo, Lasagna, Chicken Marsala, Parmesan Wings and Filet Mignon. Excellent cuisine!!!
For an “Italian” restaurant, this location struggled with the basics of Alfredo and Spaghetti.
We didn’t like our meals, offered to pay despite the situation (especially for our glasses of wine which we did consume) and were instead rushed away from the table without first being notified that no bill would be coming.
Bond 45 never fails to deliver: from the moment you walk through the door to the last sip of complimentary Limoncello offered by the manager Christine Marie, everything is absolutely outstanding. Warm hospitality, great food and a prime location make Bond the top destination in National Harbor.
Bond 45- National Harbor was one of the best dining experiences I have had. They made us feel so welcome and appreciated our attendance at their restaurant. Our waiter was very professional and knew the menu very well. The manager was over the top energetic courteous and did everything possible to make our evening magical. The food was delicious - the best Italian food I could have imagined. You definitely get a lot for the price which is already reasonable . The ambience is fine and reserved yet warm and inviting. I will be recommending this restaurant to all family and friends and will be returning very soon.
