Bond 45 - National Harbor
First time there. Food was excellent. Great location.
Not friendly- portions small... no music... patrons very loud.
We had a good experience at Bond 45. Servers were generally attentive and courteous and the food was good. Ordered the filet mignon medium, but it came medium rare (the even the marker stuck in the steak said medium rare), we didn't send it back as we have a very wide tolerance regarding steak preparation and the steak was good as it was. There were other issues--couldn't transfer the bar check to our dinner check, which isn't all that unusual and not really a big deal (we 're used to cashing out at the bar before moving to a table), bartender didn't know what it meant to serve a drink "neat" and couldn't find the drink ordered, check included an item we didn't order or receive. For us, the difference between a good place and a great place is whether or not we have to pay attention to the details, if we have to pay attention to the details, then it's not a great place. A great place gets everything right without us having to check--so this wasn't a great place. Nonetheless, we had a good time and would go back--but will pay more attention to the details ourselves next time.
I cannot remember the last time I rated a restaurant 5 stars or if I ever have but Bond 45 deserves every one of them! The service was amazing, and everyone was so friendly from the hostess to the servers and even the cook when we were leaving. The hostess treated us immediately (as she should have but many places this is not the case). The waiters were very attentive, we never once had to ask for water or wait for anything. The most impressive thing to me was, the fact that we were one of the last reservations for the night and we could tell the staff was tired by the looks in their faces but they did not treat us any different than if it was in the beginning of their shift. All of this greatness happened before the food even came out, which was also amazing!! I had the pappardelle bolognese and Mac and cheese and they were not her flavorful and delicious. My husband had the ribeye steak which was also good. This was just an overall excellent experience.
Simply excellent and second time in three days.
The food was excellent, with the people in my party having both pasta and steak dishes. The setting is nice, with good views of the river, and is relatively quiet and it has an elegant feel. The downsides are that the steaks were on the expensive side and the service remarkably rushed for the price point and on an evening in which the restaurant was only half full.
Service was excellent - and great food with generous portions!
It was good food!
Very good place to eat, very nice setting and service in top notch
Overall, we loved the experience at Bond 45. My wife enjoyed herself.(It was her birthday celebration.) My kids enjoyed it. It was a great experience. I love the ambiance. It was only noisy because we were seated by the door, but even that was minimal. I love the little sofa-type seating. It invites you to get comfortable and stay a while. The serving staff was very attentive and catered to our every need. They took care of everything without even having to ask. I loved that. I will come back again for service that phenomenal. Thank you for making my wife's birthday and enjoyable event.
Really great food, good service, nice wine list, and overall a good place. If you want a quiet place, ask for one of the enclosed alcoves on the patio area.
It was crowded due to the Cheer competitions at the Gaylord Hotel, but I made the reservation and we were seated in time.
The overall experience was wonderful! Food and service were on point. The assistant manager was quite attentive and provided champagne toast and wonderful chocolate chip cookies for our 91 year old relative’s birthday.
Nothing special or amazing. The service was solid but the food was just ok. Shrimp scampi was over sauces and the shrimp over cooked. The lobster and crab ravioli was decent but not anything amazing. The sausage with peppers chicken dish was just odd. The waiter politely warned me when I ordered it and I should have changed my order. Overall not worth the cost or time. Decent Italian food but over priced due to quality.
It was my wife’s birthday and they treated her like a queen. Food was amazing. Great portions and kind, prompt service. Manager (Amber maybe) was so nice to us.
Food was outstanding and the service was very good. We arrived early and sat at the bar to enjoy a few cocktails before dinner. Overall a very enjoyable evening.
The food and service was very good at the restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
Amazing. The service and welcoming feeling was over the top. We will go back!!
We had a lovely meal at Bond 45. The ambiance was quite romantic and we had a table with a view of the harbor at sunset. Our waiter was very helpful. I did think the prices of the meals were a bit steep but the food was very good. Highly recommend a visit.
I had an incredibly lovely meal of lobster and crab ravioli. The herbs and buttery lemon sauce was amazing and so flavorful. I also had a delightful glass of Pinot noir, a house salad with house dressing- so good as well. For dessert, the chocolate mousse cake-rich, creamy, and delicious. I felt so satisfied and comforted with the food, the view, the atmosphere and the wait staff. It was by far my best dining experience in National Harbor. I will go again and recommend to friends.
Our meal at Bond45 was "fine." They boast homemade pastas, but I was pretty skeptical of that claim when our food arrived. We had wine that was also, just fine. Nothing to write home about. Our server was very nice. I guess I was just expecting more based on how the place looked.
Delicious dinner! Our table in the corner was nice and intimate even with a crowd around us.
Highly recommend! From the moment we arrived, the hostess made us feel welcome. Our server, Jocelyn, was pleasant, knowledgeable, accommodating and efficient. The food was absolutely delicious! Fresh tasty salads, mouthwatering homemade pastas and delicious seafood entrees. Gnocchi was to die for and cheesecake was decadent! If that wasn’t enough, we were fortunate enough to have the pleasure of meeting the AGM, John Edward, who may be the most attentive, hospitable and customer-service oriented person we have ever met. His attention to detail regarding the wine, the food and his patrons was astounding. Not to mention he is a genuinely nice person with a passion for this industry and his clientele. He went above and beyond for our table, and we had a wonderful evening. We will be back to Bond 45 when in the area, and will HIGHLY recommend this place to all we know! Thanks Bond 45 for a fabulous night!!!
Great atmosphere, rustic Italian feel, good food, good service.
We went there for our anniversary and it was a great place. So glad this is the places we picked. All 4 us ordered something different and everyone was very pleased with their code. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be a repeat customer
Nice quite with big portions. Friendly and attentive staff. We enjoyed it and will be back
We had gone to a restaurant down the street that shall remain nameless and decided it wasn't for us. Bond 45 had a table open so we thought we'd try it. From the cocktails dessert, everything was superb. I had the Rockfish which can be tricky and was perfect. My friend had the seafood dish and was thrilled to find two perfectly made crab cakes. We saved room for dessert and ordered Tiramisu and Cheesecake. My friends were a bit disappointed in the simplicity of the dessert menu until it arrived. The dessert may be basic, but it was wonderful. The cheesecake was the best my friend and I have ever tasted and we've sampled cheesecake all over the country. I would unequivocally recommend Bond 45 and plan to return soon!
Bond 45 was the perfect restaurant to take my girlfriend for her 28th birthday. She really enjoyed the many options for Italian food and also the ambience was very quaint. The cookies for dessert were a nice surprise!
Room was cold ( patio ) . The roof was leaking on us, and the server seemed to be overwhelmed with a table of 10
When your waiter starts off by telling you all the things the restaurant is out of - bread, 6 oz filet on the surf and turf, large steak, and one other thing that escapes me, you know you are in trouble. Offered to do an 8 oz steak instead for $10 more. Can't you just cut 2 oz off and save me the $10 upcharge on an already pricey steak?! Prices are crazy high even by D.C. standards - who charges $42 for a 6 oz steak with a dab of mashed potatoes? Chicken Parmesan was mistaken by my husband for a pizza which he tried to send back before the waiter explained that it was the chicken parm but just the size and shape of a dinner plate. Spent over $100 on two entrees and one glass of wine. Too much money for marginal food.
Hurried wait staff. Food was decent, though definitely not worth the prices
Bond 45 was very accommodating because we switched the reservation once 40 minutes before the original time. Atmosphere was nice and the food was delicious. Drinks and wine selection was actually what we wanted. Service was on point and they were always willing to give advice and help us if we had a question.
Food was good. Did not like how close the tables were. The drink I got Bond Cup sounded good and fruity and looked great but was just vodka. No fruity taste.
The food was pretty good but I really had my heart set on the gnocchi dish. We had a reservation at 6pm and they said they were already sold out of it!
We had a good time at Bond 45. It is definitely below the “fine” restaurants in the area, but still prefer Bond over the other chain restaurants in National Harbor. Food was good overall, steaks were best, but the seafood was only fair. Not many desserts on the menu either. Service was friendly, and professional. Great place for a date night without the kids. We’ll be back.
Sad to see a favorite restaurant go down. Service was awful my crown and Diet Coke was flat. Surf and turf was below average for 53.00. Ribeye was suppose to come with onion rings and mashed but no rings. Filet mignon had way to much rub. Put rub on a flank steak not a filet. Definitely didn’t have the same ambiance as NYC Bond 45 and no valet parking
Italian entrees were average at best. Food overpriced. Waiter disappeared after dinner ordered. Other wait staff stepped in.
It was valentine’s day so the restaurant was very full. We were seated promptly at the time of our reservation and our waiter came to take our drink orders. Our food came out very quickly considering how full the restaurant was. Everything was delicious! Some of the entrées are a bit pricey, but there is a price point for everyone on the menu.
