Everything was amazing as always . Service, food, ambience, view 🥂
Wonderful as always.
Our waiter Francois was amazing. As a matter of fact every person that served us was fantastic. My rack of lamb was out of this world! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Super happy that we booked a reservation with Bonaparte! Food was delicious and the service was unbelievable!
Easy to find and park. Maître d’Hotel and servers nip and tuck. Intimate, welcoming, warm and friendly. Menu had good balance and variety in both Table d’Hote and a la Carte. Food hit my “4 Ps”: exceptionally well prepared, portioned and presented with a price point that didn’t leave a bitter taste in my wallet. A very pleasant and satisfying evening.
C'etait formidable! Food and service were both terrific, can't wait to go back and have the lobster stew again.
Far frim perfection. An oK food . Very good service .
Fabulous restaurant with a delicious tasting menu and excellent service.
Lovely restaurant with kind staff. Food was tasteful and was beautifully laid out.
Beautiful restaurant with spectacular food and wonderfully attentive and friendly service. You can sit by the window and look at the cobblestone streets or by the fire.
We have eaten at Bonaparte a few times and have been very happy with everything. The waiters were VERY friendly and very accommodating during our visit. The wait time in between courses was a little long, but we've noticed that in Montreal, they don't rush to get you out. We weren't in a hurry at all, so it was okay. Some may not agree.
We will definitely be back on our nest trip north.
Have dined in restaurants world wide and growing up in NYC, I’ve had my share of everything from 1 star to 5 stars....this establishment is very good, and what’s even better? It’s consistent. My 3rd time and always perfect from food to service to ambiance. Go, you’ll love it!
Special anniversary dinner was a complete success thanks to the amazing food, service and ambiance of the Bonaparte. We took the menu dégustation which allows for a sampling of the house signature dishes (6 courses). A feast for the eyes and palate. Service was attentive yet unobtrusive. The noise level was low which allowed for wonderful conversation. I highly recommend.
Excellent French food the sauce on my fish was so delicious I will return to have that again! My husband had venison and duck it was fantastic. Perfect chocolate mousse!
It is always a truly elegant and comfortable to have a meal for either business or pleasure. I love it!
I absolutely love this restaurant. I come here whenever I'm in Montréal. The food had been consistently excellent. The service is always superb. The maître d' Frédéric very charming and had treated me very well. I look forward to returning in the future.
Excellent food . We tried the tasting menu and really love it.
The service is awesome. They know how to take care customers!
Bonaparte is the perfect restaurant for any special occasion. We had our anniversary dinner there and they took such good care of us from the moment we arrived. The service was excellent and everyone who came to our table congratulated us. We had the tasting menu and found the food to be sublime. The seafood was divine and the lamb was just gorgeous. They made us feel as if they were just waiting for us to make their day. Well, they made our day extra special and we can’t wait to return. Thank you, Bonaparte for such a memorable evening!
We took the Valentine`s Day menu and it was great all around. The staff was friendly as usual and the bartender knows his craft and shows it well. This is actually the only restaurant we enjoy having a drink at the bar before going our meal because nothing is watered down and the mix are pretty original.
The 6 course dinner was interesting. The wait time before the meat plates was WAY TOO LONG. The host apologized , but the time was too long. The meat plates were delicious, but heavily over shadowed by the long wait.
On another note, as a gay couple, we appreciated being offered a rose as we left. That was a true class act of inclusion!
What a great experience from food to service.
Many thanks to Catherine and Matthew!!!!!!!!
For Valentine's day, we had the 6 course tasting menu. Each was a reasonable sized serving and well prepared. Avoid the small room in the back of you can.
I enjoyed my dinner from beginning to end. It started with a nicely seasoned lobster bisque, followed by a delicious salmon tartare with smoked salmon, a scrumptious seafood crepe, and a spectacularly tender filet. The atmosphere was warm and cordial, and the service was attentive, prompt, and gracious. I'll be back!
Great food, great service, we truly enjoyed our evening made so enjoyable by pleasant staff.
A good place for business dinners — attentive service, good wine, and fine food.
Lovely, elegant yet cozy dining room in the old style with chandeliers and high ceilings. This is offset by modern fireplace and wine display. All personnel were pleasant and helpful and the food was excellent - and that's the opinion of world traveling foodies!
Delicious French food and French wine in a nice ambience
Incredible. Recommend 10/10
All in all a beautiful experience. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious.
I never write reviews, however, this was hands down one of the best restaurant experiences I have had the pleasure of enjoying. On a weekend trip to Montreal from NY, my boyfriend and I decided at the last minute to switch our reservation to this restaurant. Immediately we were greeted with smiles at coat check and promptly sat at our tables. We had the creme brulee fois gras with gingerbread toast which was to die for. I had the venison medallions and my boyfriend has the chicken with sage creme. Both of which were absolutely delicious. We finished with a chocolate and hazelnut mousse which had the perfect amount of sweetness (not too much). Our server went above and beyond for us and was so incredibly personable. He even wrote down markets and museums for us to visit while we were in the city. I beyond highly recommend Bonaparte to anyone, local or visiting, for a wonderful night!
My fiancé and I made reservations to celebrate my birthday and it was absolutely wonderful. We opted for the ala carte menu and tried the warm goat cheese filo dough appetizer. The kitchen was able to split this into two generous portions for us which was very sweet and not expected. It was extremely tasty, but I will say, we both were not expecting the cheese to have such a sharp taste -- still good, just unexpected. When we ordered our mains, our server was so fabulous and recommended a red wine blend for my venison medallions with mushroom ravioli. It paired together so well. The server also recommended that I get my venison rare, which I wasn't too keen on, but she convinced me to get medium rare and I am glad I did. It really did melt in my mouth and was so yummy! The only down side to my meal specifically was by the time I got around to my raviolis, they were cold which was a little unfortunate. As for my fiancé, he ordered an old fashioned and the filet mignon, both of which he said were the best he ever had. The plating was absolutely beautiful, as was the ambience of the entire restaurant. We ended the night with creme brûlée and their chocolate hazelnut cake, which were absolutely wonderful. At the end, they came out with a bite size strawberry-looking cake with a sparkler attached to celebrate my birthday, which was so lovely! I really enjoyed eating here and will absolutely be back the next time we visit Montreal.
Highist quality of ambiance, quality of food, and delightful service. A extremely complete wine list as well as reasonable priced Tabled’hote. All this in a restaurant like you just stepped off a street in Paris.
"We love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friend's home. It was our anniversary, We definitely would return to try more dishes.
Merci beaucoup, pour une super soirée. Service et nourriture était parfait!!!
We went with higher expectation.
Food was ok, nothing to stand out.
We have the degustation menu.
Good experience, a little bit expensive
A lovely restaurant in the old town with outstanding service and excellent food.
We loved this restaurant! Everything : service, food, ambiance!
Excellent service from the woman who served us: she greeted me warmly when I arrived late (!) and realized I would need a second Prosecco! She also timed when we were ready for another course. We were out in 1.5 hours - perfect for going next door to the theatre.
