Lovely dining room. Great service. Food was rich and heavy. Appetizers were not impressive. Dessert was very sweet and overbearing.
Food was very hit or miss. The amuse bouche and steak were great, the duck was rubbery and the portions were tiny. The endive salad was disgusting and the pickled pear tasted like sweet tarts. The ambience was poor, it was way too bright, and the space had no art or POV. A very expensive meal that wasn’t worth it.
Had a really wonderful experience in terms of food, service, and ambiance. Highly recommend!
That chicken is phenomenal. The uni caviar tartlets and cheesey bites were an amazing way to start it off too
Unfailingly interesting and delicious food, with a beverage list that matches well with everything on the menu. Knowledgeable staff too; the bartenders in particular are patient and will answer any questions you may have about matching your food with the beverages the restaurant offers.
Amazing ambiance and excellent service. The food is absolutely spot on. Also, you must finish with the St. Honore dessert. It’s possibly the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had.
Food was ok but service wasn’t good. We weren’t as dressed up as others and received subpar service. Other tables would have their water glasses refilled and waiters/waitresses would just walk by us without refiling. Also, tables on either sides of us were told about the chocolate soufflé but not us. After we ordered menus were left on table until the food was delivered and they were in the way. Minor things but for the price and considering options in the area didn’t make us feel welcomed.
Every dish we ordered came out like a piece of art; however the taste wasn't surprising. In the end, it was the dessert that save the overall dining experience.
Did not care for table upstairs by food. But there was nothing else. Meant for 4 not 6
Excellent service and food
. Amazing. Will definitely be back soon.
My husband and I had a drink at the bar first. The bartender was friendly and handcrafted my cocktail. Our drinks were added to our dinner tab which is much classier than when they make you pay separately. Our food was outstanding and the service was great! There was a timing error with our coffee and dessert so they comped all of it. We will definitely go back.
Loved it. Highly recommend.
Almost everything about our visit on 11/16/19 was perfect. The appetizers, main courses and desserts were terrific. The restaurant was very busy, and we struggled a little bit to get our waiter's attention. Other than that, we had a great time, and look forward to returning.
Great for date or meeting with friends.
Did not have the English Pea dish I remember from the first time I went. Too many of the dishes have alcohol in them which really restricts the choices.
The disco was way undercooked and the sprouts were tough. My partner ordered the cheesy bites and was very disappointed.
Appetizers were expectedly small considering it was french but both delicious. The tomato tartare and chicken liver mousse were superb. The salad was quite substantial and tasty. Both of us had the flat iron steak which was very good and the accompaniments even better. Many of the restaurants in and around the Music Center are mediocre for the price, Bon Temps is totally worth it. We've been going to the Ahmanson for over 3 years and dine down there each time and Bon Temps is on the short list of restaurants we would go to again.
We enjoyed the food and the service very much. Met our expectations! 👍
We had an absolutely amazing meal at Bon Temps. The food was unbelievable - possible the most perfectly prepared Jidori chicken I have ever had. The one fault I had was the entire service was slow. Our reservation was for 830 and at 1130 we finally got the check. We had to wait for everything.
Duck entree was below acceptable minimum. Service was terrible.
Aptly sized portions, well thought out plates, and quality flavors brought together for a memorable meal. Nicely decorated interior, outside, where we ate, left more to be desired. Drinks were subpar in flavor but strong. Service was impeccable, and thorough from entry to departure.
We celebrated a birthday here and stepping into the restaurant was already such a treat. The architecture (which we have Klein Agency to thank) is insanely beautiful. They created and sectioned off different spaces of the warehouse restaurant to make it feel intimate and cozy. I’ve seen the open-space warehouse trend and it causes for loud noise bouncing off the walls, which make it hard to hear the person you’re sitting across from. Bon Temps has the opposite effect.
Their food not only looks as beautiful as the restaurant, but everything I put in my mouth was delicious. We also ordered the soufflé in advance and it tastes like Mexican hot chocolate.
Really love this place. Can’t wait to try their breakfast pastries over the weekend.
Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait 30+mins. for our table.
And then once we got seated there was no service, no one helped us or even checked on us for a VERY long time...finally a lovely young woman stopped and helped us in our desperation, because I was starving at this point...and it turns out she wasn’t even an official wait person there but because she jumped in in a pinch we were the first table there she got to serve. She did a great job!!! So what seemed at the beginning might have been a poor restaurant choice, turned into a lovely evening. So just know they are definitely still working out the kinks!
Also couldn’t help but over year the table to the right and left of us also had to wait a long time for there tables as well and both were comped drinks...they didn’t even offer us that. My friend was peeved!!
While I distinctly enjoyed portions of the meal itself, there was a lag in getting us seated and then the pacing of the delivery of dishes was all over the board, with long pauses followed by a rush of plates all at once. Unless it was just a bad night, it seems like they still have some front of house and service issues to still work out.
Descent but pricey. Typical French small portions. The skirt steak was very good. I had the lamb. Three small medallions which were fine. The squid app was good. The crab cake app was fine. The pecan dessert was very very good. The soufflé was a letdown though. They use raw sugar on the sides which looks very appealing but provides a gritty texture I found unappealing for a soufflé. Instead of a creme anglais they pair it with ice cream which was icey in texture.
The Jidori Chicken and tomato tartelette were amazing. Best chicken I've probably ever had in my life to this point, which is saying something. Everything was on point but will agree the price point to enjoy the full Bon Temps experience (tartelettes, appetizers, and the chicken) will run north of $150 before tax and tip for 2. Would definitely go again with a larger group to dry more dishes.
Great staff! Lovely food
Great food and service.
All of the food was delicious, except the prawn appetizer. Although the sauce was very good, the prawns weee over cooked and rubbery. The lamb was delicious but insanely overpriced. Three small pieces for over $40! Also, the Cabernet franc wine was terrible and cots $60! However, the food, ranging from the crab appetizer to the salmon, and all of the desserts, was really first rate
The food is the best part of Bon Temps, which is all you can really ask for. The service was good - certainly nothing bad, but also nothing spectacular. It is on the pricier end, but expected for a restaurant of this caliber in LA. The drinks are good, too; there are some very interesting cocktails on their menu. I find the space a bit odd, though. Most of the dining is set up on the second floor of the space, making the ceilings there a bit low. Other than that, honestly no complaints!
From the speciality cocktails to the dessert and everything in between was outstanding. The spicy El Smoke was an excellent way to start off the evening and a chocolate soufflé to finish things off. The flat iron stake was tender and cooked perfectly and the scollops were cooked spot on all with great flavor. Will definitely be going back.
Excellent dinner with classic details. Krystal’s wine list is best in class. The wines are brilliantly chosen for the cuisine and offer an interesting and diverse selection that is a refreshing departure from most of the other monotone wine lists in LA. We will definitely be back! Jidori Chicken was outstanding as was the tartare and the Dungeness crab
Great food, great service, and great drinks. It was not too loud, either, though it was late so not very busy when we were there.
It was amazing. I think the price was reasonable for the level of food, service, and ambience you experience. The presentation was excellent. I would definitely come back.
Be sure to get an outside table. The service is fantastic and the menu is a lot of fun. Very yummy desserts.
All the food here were so good in taste and presentation.
And the desserts are gorgeous.
Overall the food is very good. Dungeness crab, gnocchi, and steak tartare were all hits. Service is was a bit slow/uneven. The back dining room isn’t as beautiful as the front or the outside so being seated in the back was a bit underwhelming.
Amazing food great service!
I loved the delicious food especially the octopus and warm bread!! Service was friendly and fast and the ambiance was amazing. The chocolate soufflé was worth the wait, nice and crusty on top and soft and delicious inside. Can’t wait to return!!!
