Good for special occasions

When I came to the U.S. back in 2000, I've never thought that one day I will be so passionate about restaurant.
I started working as a bus boy then food runner, waiter and social media. This year I realized that was time for run my own restaurant.
I would like to invite you folks to come by and have this authentic classic Italian food, and share your experience with me and hopefully we can be good friends.

I made a reservation through open table and when we arrived at the restaurant there was a sign on the door saying it was closed June 24th - _____. No reopen date. Not a good sign for this restaurant. I wish there was some way open table was notified when a restaurant was closed, i.e. for vacation, remodeling, permanently. It was very aggravating going to a restaurant and then when arriving it was closed.

At 6 pm, we were the only ones there until 7 pm. Very lonesome. Also the food was too expensive, for what they offered. The service was good as they had nothing else to do. We did not enjoy it at all. The whole restaurant needed decorating, as well as a new menus.

Service was terrible. There were about 10 other customers. One hour and forty five minutes after we arrived, we still were not served our main course. We told the owner/manager that we had movie tickets, and were told dinner was almost ready. 30 minutes later we still had not been served. We canceled our order(unpleasant experience) and left. 4 friends who were dining with us stated(they didn't have movie tickets). Said when they finally were served, portions were small and not wonderful.

Worst imitation over-priced Italian food I have ever been served. The minestrone soup was diced celery and carrots in a flavorless broth. The Involtini Capricciosi was so tough I could hardly cut it, even with a steak knife. The Tortellini Annabella was fairly tasteless. There was one waiter /bartender for the entire restaurant, who ignored us as much as he could in order to cater to two other tables with people he obviously knew personally. It was outrageously overpriced for a strip mall joint: one soup, two entrees, 3 glasses of wine for $90. Never again.

First time back here with the new owner(s). Owner was friendly; but, the staff was not versed on the menu and neither of us could understand each other. Food came out burned for me and very little veal with the Marsala for my husband. Not very busy and it took quite a while to get food - kitchen was lacking something or someone! People waiting to get food were not happy! We'll try it again - maybe something off that night!

The food was amazing, and the waiters were very attentive. That being said, the service was very slow. It was our 1st time, and it was New Year's Eve, and they could have been short-staffed in the kitchen, but it took over 45 minutes to get our entrées. The waiters were very apologetic and did refill our wines for free and after we paid our bill gave us a complimentary dessert. We will definitely be back, and hopefully tonight was not representative of their usual evening, which is why we gave a 5 star rating since they tried to make up for the slow service.
