   The fish wrapped in leaf was a disaster. What was served totally missed the basic character of the recipe that it should not be watery. The spices did not get into the fish at al. Rookie mistake. Fire your chef.

   Our party of 4 had an excellent and elegant dining experience at Bombay Club this past Saturday night. Reservations really are a must when in DC on the weekend. We called ahead when stuck in DC traffic. The very pleasant hostess Heather assured she would have our table ready. The restaurant is beautiful inside and once seated we had a 4 star dining experience. Every dish was spot on and of course none of us could decide whose was better, it's not often you can say that.

    It was our 14th wedding anniversary celebration. Bombay Club was absolutely the right choice! The food and service were both excellent, there was a very pleasant buzz of other diners enjoying themselves, and the staff paid us special attention because of our anniversary. I will definitely recommend Bombay Club to friends and family!

    The food, service, and surroundings were all very nice. Live piano music was a plus. Had to pay extra for bread and for rice for 2 of 3 dishes. Cocktails were small. Reasonable prices.

    Outstanding experience for a birthday celebration from the moment we arrived (acknowledging our birthday girl personally), to the round table setting for 5 people, to the immediate attention for water and cocktails (outstanding selection of unique drinks!) that arrived almost instantaneously. The wait staff was very attentive and never intrusive. The menu is outstanding and easy to navigate. 4 of us chose variations of the “Classic Thalis” and we were delighted! The final touch was a delightful libation with a candle and the piano player adding Happy Birthday as background. Perfect evening. Memorable.

    I booked Bombay Club for my husbands 70th Birthday. I have never been so disappointed. Our waiter was rude and unfriendly. Quite simply he did not want to be there. Everything took forever to come, and the food was mediocre at best. The final straw was when the waiter walked over to our table with a pitcher of water and poured it into my drink. Never said sorry, just brought another to replace it and it had no ice! Stay away from this place, its a tourist trap! Terrible!!!

    A friend and I had dinner here last night. The Malai Chicken Tikka appetizer and the Kale appetizer were good. We ordered both the Veg and Non-Veg thalis which were a great way to taste many dishes at a reasonable price. For dessert we ordered kheer and gulab jamun. The gulab jamun was delicious, but the kheer was very thin and a bit tasteless. We also ordered two masala chais which didn’t taste fresh. The chai was over cooked and lacked spice. I also ordered the chicken dum biryani for home. It tasted okay, but the saffron was overpowering in taste. The restaurant service and ambiance were excellent. Overall, it was a great dinner and now I know which dishes to order and which to avoid.

    The Bombay Club continues to be one of the best spots in Washington for a special meal. The food is delicious. The ambiance lovely. You can actually hear your dining companions. And the service is the best in the city. What’s not to like?

    A generational change has occurred in management and menu … and it was done with retaining that fantastic Bombay Club ambience and style that has always made feel as if we are attentively treated as the most important people while there. The Bombay Club has not skipped a beat with its transition, and we look forward to visiting for years to come.

    We visited for the first time in 3 years or more and were impressed with the remodeling and new furniture. More modern than before but still very classy and impressive. The roti was perfect. The okra was great as was the tandoori salmon. The vegetable biryani was very good, but a little too spicy for my taste. The hospitality was top notch, from the front door greeting to the server’s personality and dedication to our comfort. The food was paced perfectly and the wine took the edge off of a long work week. We can’t wait to bring visiting family here.

    Love the Bombay Club. Hi quality, amazing food, wonderful ambiance...especially the piano and the piano player on Sat nights. Worth going just for the music; worth going just for the food; worth going for the decor. It is on the top of my list for repeat experiences.

    Food was outstanding and the service was excellent. The Kale salad was unique and a perfect starter. Lamb chops were cooked with precision and proper flavoring. Location near the White House is hard to beat. My one complaint is the absurd overcharge for a sliver of middle of the road whiskey. No need.

    Made a reservation for dinner and I was told that they do not allow children under the age of 8. The host was rude and dismissive. The only thing on their website is that they do not allow strollers nor have high chairs. I’ve eaten at their other properties but this one is the worst. They are forever off my list.
