Very consistent and reliable. Excellent in every respect. Highly recommend.
Everything was very good but the waiter was trying hard but was not professional enough.
I did not appreciate that you could not order off the normal menu.
Customer service at Bombay Club is very special - the waiters are so hospitable, friendly, and professional. We felt like they wanted to make us feel welcome, anticipating every need. Our waiter noticed that we were adjusting to one dish that was spicy, bringing us a side of yogurt with cucumber to cool down and complement the flavor. This is a restaurant that has something delicious for everyone, and makes service as much a priority as the food.
We had a wonderful meal during Restaurant Week. The staff handled the chaos with grace and accuracy - it was a great experience and we would happily return for another meal.
Unfortunately, we did not know that it was "Restaurant Week" where patrons were limited to a preset, price fixed menu. Nevertheless, the food was fantastic! We had several choices in each category - appetizer, main dish, and dessert. Just wish we could have chosen from the full menu - maybe next time.
Our only complaint was the damn piano player - too loud! Fortunately, we were seated about as far away as possible from it, but nevertheless it was way too loud.
We had a wonderful time at The Bombay Club. The service was fantastic. We were a little disappointed that the menu was limited to Restaurant Week selections. We had hoped to order dishes that we read about in various reviews. Regardless, the food was excellent and the experience was wonderful.
Bombay Club is one of our favorite Indian restaurants. Always great service. Fantastic surroundings, great piano music. The French Burgundy wine was excellent. However, I thought on restaurant week that the serving should have been SPECIAL. A serving of rice and a bowl with lamb fenugreek was excellent in taste but not esthetic in appearance.
The service and ambiance is always top notch! But of course, the most important thing is the food - from the starter to the dessert, each plate is full of flavor, cooked to perfection, and appropriately sized. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough - especially for a special date night. They will take care of you!
The food at Bombay Club was delicious! Everything was seasoned well and spicey as requested! The server was very courteous and attentive. They gave us a complimentary float as it was our anniversary. They also had a live piano player which added to the romantic ambiance. We'll be going back next time we're in DC!
We love the Bombay Club. The service is professional, and the ambiance is elegant. The food is great!
Food was amazing, delectable and dazzles your palate. Serene and luxurious setting with a lively atmosphere but still quiet enough to have a conversation!
The Bombay Club has been one of my favorite restaurants for years but the food was very disappointing this time. There were 3 of us and no one was impressed with their meal. It was very disappointing. The service and atmosphere was still nice.
Though I'm not from India and cannot judge it perfectly, I've eaten quite much Indian food in my life (eg in China, UK or Germany). The Bombay Club beats all restaurants I've been at, because I was overwhelmed by the wonderful taste, use of different spices and quality of the food.
We got a kind of "set menu" - there were three courses and always you could chose out of ca. 7-10 dishes. We had shrimps and paneer as first dish, fish curry and lamb as second dish (both portions normal sized) plus desserts and a bottle of house wine and finally paid 120 USD, which I found a very reasonable price for 2 menus incl wine. Service diligent and with best attention if we needed something. I also liked the kind of colonial "retro" style. Great restaurant! Full recommendation!
This was our second visit to Bombay Club, this time for Restaurant Week. The special menu for the event gave lots of choices, and we enjoyed every single bite of it all. It's a lovely place.
I am grateful that we weren't seated near the piano. The noise level was pretty bad even far away from it. People increase the volume of their voices to compensate for music, and it was hard to talk to each other much of the time. That's our only complaint.
First time at Bombay and now it may be my go to. Definitely a fine dining establishment that lives up to its customer service and food quality. The service, given by Rinu, was amazing and so considerate. He found out it was my birthday and gave me and my party complimentary champagne! His food recommendations were on par and so delicious.
I found out they have a reasonably priced bottomless mimosa brunch, so I will definitely be back. I consider Bombay club my hidden gem and I can’t wait to share with more people.
We went for restaurant week lunch and really enjoyed it. Service was friendly and attentive and the food was excellent with lots of great choices. The atmosphere is a little old school, but we appreciated the fact that we could actually converse without having to yell.
Everything top shelf - food, presentation, pro service, ambiance. Went for restaurant week.
Food was good but service was poor and was not particularly busy. Waiter was gruff.
The Bombay Club is consistently excellent, from the ambiance, to the service, to the food. I could eat here every week! Their lamb is always excellent, their Restaurant Week lamb chop appetizer fantastic. I often have the vegetable thali there, and its variety is commendable. It is generously portioned; I never finish it (though I could stand to have a little more rice for the sauces). You cannot go wrong here.
The food was amazing, the service was outstanding. It was a great evening.
The Bombay Club is one of DC's classic Indian restaurants. It is beautifully appointed, and the food is always amazing. It is perfect for a romantic evening-- or a dinner with friends. The Tandoori Salmon is perfect-- melting in your mouth. The lamb is wonderful and the breads so flavorful!
Good service. Great food. Well-balanced flavors. Portions do not look large but they are filling. Highly recommend the crispy kale and the samosas. Curries are superb!
Delicious food, beautifully presented and served.
This was our first time at Bombay Club and we loved it! Our server , Rinu, took excellent care of us, recommending the most delicious dishes we had try - and he was spot on! Don’t miss the Crispy Kale, Lamb Vindaloo and Lobster Lababdar! The truffle naan was also excellent and if you like really spicy food the green chili chicken does not disappoint! The live piano music and classical ambiance completed the experience. Can’t wait to go back!
Beautiful place, high quality food. My only complaint is the portion size is very stingy. I’m used to healthy portions at other Indian restaurants. Bombay needs to work on offering more generous dinners for their guests.
The food and ambiance were amazing as always. We love this restaurant. However, we were clear that we wanted just one mimosa, and were told that the cost for one ($12) was the same for the champagne brunch. The next thing we knew they started filling up our half-full glasses during the meal and we were later charged $40 a person on the final bill for what was in essence a glass of champagne for each of us.
We had a lovely pre-theater dinner for 3 on Saturday. Service was prompt and courteous. The food was excellent. The live piano was perfect.
Really great food but the vibe was off. Very fancy, piano player, quiet and dim-lit. I came with two girlfriends and it seemed like the server didn't take us seriously as customers. Seemed like an older crowd.
Decent food but overpriced.
We went their for family members for dinner and they were impressed to say the least. From the piano player to the service provided through dinner the night went perfect. Excellent evening for a family dinner.
Our waiter was excellent, recommended the crispy kale for an appetizer which was outstanding. We had the duck and lamb for entrees, both cooked to the correct temperature and had well seasoned sauces. We will eat here again.
Everything was better than expected -- the food and the service especially.
Terrible service. Rude waiter and buser
Superb as always. The Bombay Club retains its position as one of the very best restaurants in Washington.
Terrific, personable service. Great ambiance between the decor and the live piano music. Get the Krispy Kale.
We enjoyed our lunch very much... impeccable service.
I enjoyed the food, but would have liked some other choices for dessert. I do n ot care for either Gulub Jarmun or Gajar Halwa. Would have liked Kulfi, Kheer, or a coconut flan. The piano player was pleasant, but would have preferred more jazz or Broadway tunes--Clair de Lune and the classical pieces were rather stuffy. Some of the chairs were looking rather worn for the otherwise attractive room.
Still excellent after all these years.
Bombay Club is my favorite go to place. Thank you and keep it up🌻
