We have loved the Bombay Club over the years but were just a bit disappointed in our Sunday brunch there recently. We wanted to show a friend, from out of the country, one of our favorite restaurants in DC. Both my husband and I felt the food was meh plus. Not that we needed it, but their website said red meat was always offered, and there was none. The chicken dish, by the time we got to it was mostly gravy (and we were there early). I just felt the flavors of a couple vegetable dishes could have been better. This is the first time I've been disappointed there. We will go back, and try the buffet again, but Sunday was a bit disappointing.

I've been to Bombay Club a few times and the food is always really good. Our friends that we dined with are beginners when it comes to Indian cuisine. Both of them enjoyed the food immensely. For appetizers, we ordered the butternut squash samosas, crispy kale, and mulligatawny soup and all were fantastic. For dinner, the chicken tikka, duck, lamb shank and lamb vindaloo. Everything was so tasty, the lamb shank was my favorite. The vindaloo is a little pricey for the quantity but has a great combination of tangy and spicy. For dessert, the gulab jamun is a must have for my husband. Service was excellent!

Very creative dishes not seen in your average but good Indian restaurant. Lovely setting and quiet enough to enjoy an intimate conversation.

This place is always outstanding. The starter that has paneer was out of this world. We also got the grilled seafood platter and the salmon was to die for and literally melted in your mouth. The shrimp was very well seasoned and cooked to perfection. All the curries we ordered were also very good. This place never fails.

We were at Bombay Club twice before. The last time was when Bill Clinton was our president. We just don’t make it to DC that often. It has always been a treat. We ate a lobster dish and a eggplant dish. The eggplant was spicy, went well with the lobster. We also had naan with pistachios which was delicious.

There was a lovely woman nearby at the piano who played music we were familiar with. Our waiter, Rinu, was excellent.

We will be sure to return again and again as we visit DC.

Unfortunately, I was sick (not due to the restaurant or food) so I was unable to eat any of the food ordered. The bread that came with my Club Thai was not packed with the rest of my food to take home. The missing bread was an essential part of this sampler dish. When taking my friend’s food to prepare for taking home, the lady picking up the dirty dishes from another table placed my friend’s dish on top of the dirty dishes. In addition, the extra bread that we paid for was thrown out by the same person.

Fantastic, flavorful, quality food! Slightly smaller portion sizes. Great cozy upscale atmosphere. Would definitely eat here again. If I lived closer, would make it one of my GOTO's for sure.

Ambience and service were outstanding as always. One of the best restaurants in Washington where you can enjoy good food and hear each others conversations, but not those seated nearby. Food nearly perfect.

The ambiance of this restaurant was very nice, but unfortunately the food wasn't great. Our appetizers were delicious, but each of our meals had problems (e.g. one of our meals was very salty; the other two had an overpowering flavor of a particular spice ). Perhaps it was an off day in the kitchen?

We chose Bombay Club having been several times to their sister restaurant Rasika. I think this place is better - food just as good, atmosphere more elegant, and less of a crowd issue where you think you have to leave the table because others are waiting for it. Will go back again.

Fantastic service. I believe our waiter was "Rinu" (I didn't ask, but that's what was written on the check). Easily the best service I've had in a restaurant for as long as I can remember.

Beautiful, plush restaurant with delicious food and wonderful service. The fried Kale appetizer was amazing, as was every dish and morsel we tasted. It's unusual to find such refined and delicious Indian food in such a classic, quiet environment. We were a family group of 8 and everyone was delighted from age 18-84.

This is our favorite restaurant in Washington. The food is delicious, the drinks are inventive, and the service is impeccable. We dined their post-theater on Christmas Eve, and at the end of the meal, enjoyed the restaurant’s signature flaming Cobra Coffee. We also requested a round of Grand Marnier. Our server returned to apogetically inform us they were out. Moments later, we saw another server rush across the street to the sister restaurant, The Oval Room, and return with a bottle of Grand Marnier, snifters of which our server brought to us. It underscored our opinion that this is our favorite DC restaurant!

We had never eaten in the Bombay Club on a Sunday afternoon and did not realize that only a buffet is available. The buffet selections were limited and all seemed to taste pretty much the same. I enjoy Indian food and have been a long time fan of the Bombay Club, but have not dined there recently until now. I would not rate it as highly as the two other downtown Indian restaurants in the Knightsbridge Restaurant Group.

The food and service are both great! I personally don't much like the piano music, which tends to be flowery renditions of songs from the 1930s-60s, but I still go back for the food. The menu changes around quite a bit, so there is always something new to try.

One of our long-time favorites! The food is as good as ever. The dining room is more crowded and noisier than before but it is still possible to converse, although conversation is more difficult now. We think it is one of the loveliest dining rooms in DC, an important drawing card and an asset.
