Superb foods, the fish curry is the best curry I’ve ever eaten. Waiter was professional And personable, noise level pleasantly low.
Had a great time!
Food was good
Bombay is back and reigns supreme as best Indian in washington. On every level management, service
And cuisine. Can’t wait to go back
Definitely one of the finest Indian meals we have experienced. I highly recommend one of their Thali plates for an interesting and satisfying mix of small plates. We also thoroughly enjoyed the scallop and crab appetizers. And we enjoyed the mango cheesecake and kulfi for dessert. Really friendly and attentive staff.
We have dined at the Bombay Club many times over the years and loved it but last night's dinner was very disappointing. Service was very bad--an inattentive, confused server who would disappear; the food was tasty but not spectacular the way it used to be; the Naan baskets were skimpy. I undrstand that these are challenging times for restaurants, but we had dined at La Bise a few weeks ago and had a spectacular meal!
Nice evening. Thank You...........................
Food was mediocre, but excellent atmosphere. However, the inexperienced general manager was a bit rude. He rolled his eyes when we asked to be transferred to an inside table because it was getting very windy outside. It was a very reasonable request and I felt like he was mocking us.
The ambience is extraordinary; tables spaced with discreet distance for good conversation easily heard. The live pianist playing wonderful tunes, service is excellent & the food very good.
What more could you want?
Server was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Sommelier was condescending. Promptness of service was inconsistent, sometimes very slow. My impression was they needed an additional waiter on the floor.
No matter how many times we go to the Bombay Club, it is like the most special Occassion. We brought a friend, a vegetarian who asked the waiter for suggestions (ij an Indian restaurant there were plenty of choice) he recommendation was on target. My wife had salmon, I had duck, we had crispy kale to start and one plain. one garlic nan.
They took my valet parking ticket so our car was out front when we left - another great touch.
The spice combinations were a gift to the taste buds!
Despite if requesting a discrete table 3 days in advance the maitre d was not responsive;
Great cocktails, admirable wine list. The Chicken Tikka was remarkably tender and flavorful.
Gathering with out of town friends.
Amazing service! Best Indian Cuisine I have had! A perfect location for a business meeting.
Excellent outdoor seating; great food and lovely service!
An adjacent diner was very noisy and our server was new (he told us) and needed many reminders.
The new décor was elegant without being stuffy. Staff was very friendly and attentive, but the service was slow. I think there was a larger crowd than anticipated.
The food was terrific and portions were large and satisfying. Good value for the cost. If not for a very loud diner at the table across from us who had no concept of "inside" voice, the noise level was fine.
Service was painfully horrible. Slow is an understatement. Our waitress could BARELY pronounce the dishes, leave alone describe them. Whenever she came around (which was rarely) and asked a question, she would walk away even before we completed the answer. The bread ("Kulcha") that my daughter ordered came WELL after her entree arrived. Food was ok - nothing great.
Piano music was nice but very loud for tables in front of Resturant, so hard to talk and hear at the table we were at. Overall was great experience.
An old gem with a fresh new look -- food was delicious and service courtly.
Pleasant ambiance and servive
Anniversary dinner. Piano, perfect lighting, knowledgeable and attentive service. What else can you ask for?
Not used to this cuisine. Food was tasteful and well prepared. Server was very helpful.
Outstanding cuisine. Great service and amazing atmosphere with piano playing soft American songbook. Would recommend to Indian food lovers.
Amazing food, service and atmosphere. They were gray working around food allergy issues, also.
This was my family’s first time dining at the Bombay restaurant and it was indeed a memorable experience. The service (especially our server) was outstanding. The food was excellent (the kale chips, simply delicious). We will definitely be returning.
We came for a birthday - the service, food and ambience were all excellent. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations on menu selections. Table maintenance was on point: courses were well timed, plates were cleared, tabletop was cleaned and silverware reset all in a timely fashion but without disruption. The indoor setting was perfect - quiet enough to hear everyone at the table, but they also had live piano which we loved. This was our first time dining here, and we look forward to coming back again!
There may be flashier fine dining Indian restaurants in the DMV but there is a very good reason this one has been around for 30 plus years: excellent service, stellar dishes that elevate not overwhelm, and a wonderful ambience where you can actually have a quiet conversation with your dining companions.
Formerly a favorite which has started a sad coasting downhill slide. Perhaps due to pandemic constraints or the owner's preoccupation with his other projects this restaurant is no longer on my to-do list. The food has been degraded-the Vindaloo is not worthy of the name and the kitchen refused any accomodation until pushed by the manager. The naans are uninspired and came out cold. My dishes were served long before my date's and were also cool to the touch. Worst was a horrible piano player who either has Parkinsonism or dementia but played 60s and 70s tunes in a slow halting dirge-like hammering which was most unappetizing. The waiter kept apologizing and did not know the menu. Sorry to Tom at the Post but this restaurant is no longer worth any attention.
Awesome experience with live music and excellent food.
Everything was fine. Good service and good food
Excellent dinner from start to finish. Food, service, decor. Top notch
Elegant restaurant, good cocktails, large wine list, good variety of well- prepared food and thoughtful service. Wine list is pricey but good quality.
Great Indian food. Fantastic service.
Stunning food, great service, glad to be back!
Wonderful restaurant with amazing food and attentive service.
We dined outside on a beautiful September evening. While the outdoor dining is right on Connecticut Avenue, there was little traffic. Our service was gracious and attentive and the dishes well prepared.
The food and the service is consistently good. Great place.
We had not been at The Bombay Club for 20+ years so we were excited to go back. When we arrived the parking owners decided to do construction (jack hammer noises every few minutes). We asked the hostess if we could move outside because we could not tolerate the loud noise. They set up a table for us and we were able to enjoy a wonderful meal. We had the Kale crispy salad which was excellent and the Club Thali plus the Roasted Kasundi Scallop - again all delicious! We look forward to eating at The Bombay Club!
