It’s wonderful that after everything that has happened a meal here is still extraordinary in every way.
We had the nicest time at The Bombay Club. Per usual, the food . was delicious. Loved the crispy kale appetizer and the lamb vindaloo. Aside from the food alone, however, was the service. We had the friendliest waiter, who gave us great menu suggestions. And several people checked on us throughout the night, in a non imposing way. Lastly, the piano player made the ambiance complete. Just divine. We love The Bombay Club and will be back soon. It’s just so good.
This was an absolutely wonderful meal experience. The wait staff was very attentive. This was our first time eating at this restaurant and it has easily become one of your favorites. Can’t wait to come back.
Horrible service - we were rushed out even though there were other tables. We told waiters not to take our plates 3 times and finally someone took 2 out of 3 plates leaving the third person to eat alone. The food was not warm. Disappointing as I’ve had good experiences there in the past.
Another perfect evening at this gracious, all time favorite with the usual excellent food and service.
Hadn’t been for decades. Literally over 20 years. And it was just as good as back then. Was there for a birthday and they made it feel very special. Top notch on service and the food was as good as I remembered.
Great food and service. Beautiful dining room
Phenomenal! Best Indian food we’ve had in a very long time.
Great food and Great service!
Excellent overall experience. Knowledgeable staff, thoughtful management. Well run and high quality
Classic flavors of Indian cooking. Comforting.
Best decorated and most comfortable restaurant in DC!
We came during reduced capacity period of Covid. Everything was as good as normal or better. Perfect evening except government rules about table capacity. We had to do 2 tables but Bombay set them as close as possible and it was still wonderful.
Had a wonderful dinner here. The Dal is the best I ever had. Everything was delicious. Service was impeccable. Great place to take your significant other.
Great food, service and drinks! Good attention to Covid safety
Excellent food and service
It was an overall excellent experience and we would definitely return for another date night.
Loved it! Very pleased!
We very much enjoyed our first dining in experience in over a year. The food was excellent, the service impeccable and the tables well socially distanced. I really enjoyed having Bombay Club’s thali meal again.
Wonderful meal with great service. Heaters made a chilly evening very comfortable.
Old school elegance and service along with excellent food
It was my friends 50th . The Bombay Club team made it the best.
Food and service was great. Our waiter Raj made sure we were well taken care of. The outdoor space was set up nicely and everyone on the staff was masked. Always a great time here.
We had a last minute reservation and were seated straight away to a beautiful table and had the most romantic and delicious dinner. The staff were spectacular. I highly recommend going here and they are very careful with regards to COVID guidelines.
Wonderful service! And the piano player was great!
The food is divine as is the overall atmosphere. I love the live piano music -- something you don't find in many DC fine dining restaurants any more.
Absolutely some of the best Indian food in DC with great ambiance, so glad to see the jazz pianist back on Friday nights!
Fabulous place. Gorgeous decor and environment with beautiful architectural touches and live plants. I felt like I was in an exclusive club. Waiter, Depot, was amazing, helping me choose the perfect dishes. I had the crispy kale, Goan shrimp curry, and a type of carrot cake. All fantastic. The cocktail and wine were spot on and they even gave me a complimentary dessert wine. The piano player was a wonderful touch, playing my favorite tunes. I can't wait to go back.
The food was really good, so was the service. We loved the live piano music, ideal for dates and romantic dinners. I had the chocolate tart for dessert and it was heavenly.
This was my 1st time having Indian food. Everything was absolutely wonderful
I look forward to returning to Bombay Club soonest !
So first time trying out this place. I thought being a higher-end Indian restaurant in DC, I could compare it to Rasika or Punjabi Grill. It wasn't even close.
It was the same flavors and taste as any neighborhood indian buffet. Went for restaurant week, was disappointed in the options on the menu. Everything seemed premade, they couldn't tailor to spice levels - not cool. The meal was served with rice, which 2 out of 5 in our group thought was stale. The naan was good, the garlic one at least.
Service was good, ambiance was awkwardly quiet and I noticed every time I looked around, someone was staring at us. Whether it was the host, a busboy, food runner, or the waiter. Which has it's pros and cons. Pros - they were very attentive with water and requests. However, it's hard to eat when big brother is watching your every move.
Lastly, I noted that our table was not flat, it was on a curve/slant. My phone and spoon both fell off the table. Not good if you're having hot indian food. They should check that out.
Loved the ambience. Our appetizer took forever to arrive, but all else went smoothly and pleasantly. The food was good; the restaurant week portion sizes were small which was nice as it meant I didn't have to ask for a to-go bag, however, I felt the pricing was a bit high. I think we would visit again for a special occasion.
Amazing food and special nye preparations for a 4 course meal. Perfect blend of traditional Indian with a little fusion and innovation. Service was really good too and outdoor space preparation for cold was too good. Would def recommend dining here.
It was our 25th Wedding Anniversary and even though we had to sit in a tented enclosure because of the virus, Bombay didn't disappoint. We had a wonderful evening!! The service, food and ambience still lived up to the quality that we've come expect vert many years we've been coming here!
Amazing service all around. Greeted with champagne upon arrival as I was celebrating my graduation from college. My dad and I were thoroughly impressed by the food and service.
Great service. Even better ambience. Food always top notch
Bombay Club has an old world charm. The food is presented well, and the menu is well chosen. Some of the curries are not as robust in flavor as one would expect (especially the chicken tikka masala and paneer curry that are tomato based). But others such as the spinach were outstanding.
Service was excellent and the wait staff was very attentive throughout.
As a response to the pandemic, tables are assigned further apart, menus are disposable, everyone is wearing masks and we could see that the tables were being cleaned thoroughly after the guests left.
My wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at The Bombay Club and our experience at the restaurant went way beyond our expectations. Service, Food, and Ambience were fantastic and they really made the evening special for us. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a top notch place to dine.
As it has been for years, The Bombay Club sits at or near the top of my "go to" list in DC. Even in these difficult times, everything was as it has always been -- which in my view is 10/10. The cocktails were distinct and delicious. The Indian dishes are creative and perfectly prepared and served. I had the crab appetizer and the duck entree -- which I haven't had before -- and they were special. The crispy kale, which seems a first cousin to Rasika's famed crispy spinach, was perfect. The kitchen-made chutneys were spot on. The service remains impeccable. The subtle, quasi-colonial decor was relaxing. The impact on attendance because of the virus was palpable, which made the usual quiet murmur more meditative (apart from tasteful classical music in the background). And did I mention the service? Each staff person was outgoing, pleasant, and attentive, but not too much so. 25 years and going strong, and this gem will survive on the merits if people will come and enjoy.
