Food is very good but portions are small. Prices are high for lunch. It’s very noisy but conversation was possible. The couch- like seating on one side of the table is not great for eating.
Our food was very good and the servers were very knowledgable about the menu. This place is a bit higher-end for an Indian restaurant, probably due to its close proximity to the White House and Capitol Hill. You can expect white table clothes and multiple servings of silverware on the table.
I'm coming from the midwest, so I shouldn't be surprised by the higher prices of everything in DC, but it is something to be aware of. I think my meal cost roughly $10 more than a similar meal back home.
It was a birthday dinner and they bought brought a really nice sorbet dessert with colorful sorbets and liquid in it for his birthday. It was really fun.
I have been dining at the Bombay Club since it opened in the mid-80s. It is unfailingly one of the best of Asahk Bajaj's many fine eateries. The manager on duty yesterday, Beycan Atalay, has the front of the house well in hand, and the kitchen was superb, as it always is.
Great meal, waiter was very helpful and the taste was delicious. Loves the Kale starter!!
DC’s finest Indian restaurant!
While the food and the service were adequate, the setting is so lovely that I would be inclined to recommend this restaurant to someone who had never been there before.
We love the ambiance of The Bombay Club in that it is so colonial British and takes you to another place where you forget you're in Washington. The food was very good and the service was excellent.
Three of us dined on Sunday evening and had expectations of another great meal at Bombay. We were seated by windows at a lovely table. The piano player started playing very nicely but the volume was too much for us to have a quiet conversation. What was worse was the couple with a young child seated next to us. The child was playing some very loud electronic game device that was incredibly obnoxious. The piano player attempted to play louder than the game to be heard. The parents and restaurant manager were oblivious to the negative impact on diners. We should have asked to move but didn’t mostly because we were so shocked by the situation. For the entree price we should not be feeling like we’re eating at Chuck E Cheese.
The appetizers were wonderful! Crispy kale was perfect as were the crab ularthu and mushroom corn samosas. Dinner items were good except for the tandoori chicken that was a bit tough. Would not reorder that. Naan was perfect as usual and the cobra coffee dessert was outstanding! Our waiter was so personable and attentive.
Overall not a great as prior visits but will return at a future date given the vegetarian options.
Outstanding food and great ambiance. The piano music and luxurious surroundings made for a wonderful experience.
As always the food service were incredible
One of my guests is of Indian heritage and he said it was one of the best dining experiences he has had
A beautiful restaurant serving great Indian food. Presentations are always lovely. The tastes are flavorful and robust. We have been several times and will return. Staff are courteous and do not rush you. I have never had food there that wasn't delicious. A real treat
My chicken dish was a little dry and the cauliflower side dish was so-so, not great. I love the restaurant though. This is the first time my food was not delicious. Service is always stellar.
Bombay club is a guarantee for great food, excellent service and good time. We went here for Diwali dinner. everything we ordered was perfectly cooked. Their sheesh kebobs melt in your mouth; green chili chicken has just the right amount of spice with tender chicken pieces; and every mouthful of biryani is tasty. amazing time. If you have not been here, it is a "must try" place!
As always, dinner at Bombay Club was a wonderful experience. Excellent food and perfect service. A pleasure to take a visiting friend there to enjoy it with us.
Great service and amazing food!!
Out waiter was very professional and attentive, I wish I remembered his name.
Our favorite restaurant in Washington DC! We are never dissappointed in the food quaky, service and ambiance.
The Bombay Club is a wonderful place to come for lunch with good friends, family, or business associates. The food is great; the service is excellent; and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. It is great for dinners also. Just a real gem of a spot for all kinds of meetings and celebratory occasions.
Fun evening. Nice birthday party.
The experience is excellent from entry to first service interaction through entree and dessert. Attention was paid to the birthday guest as requested. It was a good choice to book early in the evening since it became busy very quickly, accompanied by more harried staff activity and a dramatically increased noise level. One note is that it would be helpful to know in advance that valet parking payment is handled inside by restaurant staff prior to venturing outside to engage with the parking attendant.
Incredibly delicious food with nuanced flavoring. Tha service was excellent. Our waiter, Shinu, was wonderful at helping us identify various herbs and spices. The pianist had a lovely selection of background music which didn’t inter fee with conversation. This was my first time at Bombay Club but I definitely plan to go back.
We went to the Sunday brunch. Some of the items mentioned in the menu were missing. The taste was very average for most of the dishes and not authentic at all. No non-alcoholic drinks, tea or coffee as part of the brunch which was very disappointing. Not going back again!
Very overrated. Doesn’t measure up to Rasika or Rasika West.
Our server, Jay R. provided very poor service, it ruined the experience. My parents were visiting from out of town and I wanted to take them to a special dinner because they love Indian food. Jay barely spoke to us, asked brusque questions and was always looking at other tables. He forgot several of our orders and we had to ask keep asking him. I understand that Saturday nights at Knightsbridge restaurants are busy, but there was a clear lack of care, almost disdain in the way Jay R. served our meal. My parents and I often felt dismissed if not invisible. Such a shame as it ruined the mood of our evening together.
The Staff was extremely professional and accommodating. We told we were celebrating our anniversary and they pulled out all the stops to make us feel welcome. The food and cocktails were absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend.
Loved everything about our birthday celebration, food service table waiter owner. All fabulous
Whenever I get to Washington I try to have a meal at the Bombay Club. Excellent food and servicc.
Everything we ate was delicious!
Sunday brunch at the Bombay Club has been a favorite place to enjoy with friends and visitors over the years. However, now I’ve experienced other Indian restaurants and prefer dishes with more spice, and a greater variety. The current menu is good but bland.
The Bombay Club continue to be my single most favorite go to place for good times and most special times and occasions, bar none. Keep it up AshokB and your magnificent team at the The Bombay Club
This has been our go-to place for celebrations but Saturday evening's experience has changed that. The food, all appetizers and main courses and naans were stone cold. The quality of the food has also deteriorated - malai kababs and seekh kababs tasted like they were steamed. The service was abysmal - perhaps you were short staffed this night but we were kept waiting through out the evening.
Service was great! Was there forndaughrers bday. We luv luv Indian food. Will return when I get a date! Lol
High quality and timeless. BC is reliable, great service, convenient, top notch
Amazing food! Everything taste good. Attentive service.
I've been a regular for Bombay Club Sunday brunch for several years. Sadly it has been diminished this summer with a marked reduction in the buffet (i.e. no salad, fruit options and not even essential Indian condiments like chutney, pickles and raita). But this month features a special regional Indian offering and the first, featuring Goa and Gujurat was simply superb and included a return to the additional buffet items. Exceptional in all respects. This remains one of the last old school, elegant non-millennial oriented restaurants in the city and all the more valued for it. It's a shame too many don't respect the ambiance in their attire. But Bombay Club Sunday Brunch is.. back... well at least for October. Recommended!
Excellent food. Wine list is pricey for Indian. Wonderful live pianist. Service was very good.
The food, as always, was excellent. But our server was mostly absent, kind of rude, and very very slow. We ended up waiting about 30 mins for him to come take our dessert order and gave up.
I have been to Bombay Club many times since its opening. The food and service as well as the ambience have been excellent as always. On this occasion it was our marriage anniversary. We got champagne and sorbets on the House. The wait staff, Renu, rendered excellent service.?
Outstanding service and quality
Excellent service, wonderful food...but incredibly loud and too dark.
