Best Indian food I've ever eaten. I could not recommend more highly.
Our sever Andres was amazing. We came back just because of his excellent service!
For some reason others review Rasika as better but Bombay Club is one of the best - 30 years running. Fabulous service, linen tablecloth elegance, soothing live piano, and impeccable service. Really cannot say enough. Lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka excellent. Kale salad and samosas to start we’re great to share. Dessert sampler great way to finish.
As always, the food at Bombay Club was superb. However, the restaurant was crowded and noisy, unlike prior experiences. There was a piano player playing very loudly, as if he was in a bar, not an elegant restaurant. The host seemed indifferent to the noise and could not, or would not, seat us at another table away from a very large party and the piano. Our waiter was attentive, but over-worked. We had to remind him about drink orders.
A weeknight would probably be a better experience. But this is not the experience I expect from Bombay Club or any of its sister restaurants.
Great food and the pianist included modern songs into his lineup.
Very good food and service was excellent
Great food and wonderful service. A favorite place of ours.
Was amazing. Wished we lived closer to come more frequently. Everything about it was incredible. The piano player was just the icing on the cake.
The food and the ambiance were top notch. Since the restaurant was busy the service was a bit underwhelming
My third visit to the Bombay Club, this time with a colleague for a business conversation. Greeted by Rinu on arrival, it was so reassuring to be recognized and looked after. Some new items on the menu were a nice temptation too. I found the kale hors d'oeuvre too sweet, but a great idea if the chef would play down the sugar. The new vindaloo was delicious -- as presented here, it seemed to me to be closer to a northern cuisine, but I loved it. A great evening, business conducted in a very pleasant environment and with great, attentive service. Well done again!
We ordered thalis and shared the dessert sampler. The dishes were perfectly prepared and seasoned with amazing service. Love, love, love this restaurant!
Visitor from out of town and first time to restaurant. Food, service, and atmosphere all excellent. I highly recommend.
Lovely restaurant with great menu options. It is a more formal restaurant and more suitable for a business lunch or date than a casual gathering.
From the moment we walked into the Bombay Club, my wife and I felt well taken care of. The food was superb, the service was excellent, the ambiance enchanting. It was my wife’s birthday and I think I can happily say that she was indeed impressed. Please keep in mind that it is not easy to impress my wife, she’s a doctor in computational physical chemistry. If she’s impressed, that means that your doing something right.
We will without a doubt eat at this venue again regardless of the occasion.
Always great food, service, and ambiance. Will be back soon.
Beautiful, elegant and friendly. Outstanding food, outstanding service. Dosent get much better than this.
Delightful place, quiet, and refined. Everything I hoped it would be.
Rinu our server was excellent. Courteous and thoughtful.
Food and ambiance great. Wonderful value.
Wonderful ambiance and decor to go along with outstanding food. Service is top notch.
The website does not do justice in promoting the dining experience. If you like good Indian food, you need to go the Bombay Club.
The best. Couldn’t recommend more highly.
No traditional Indian food items. Also NO real spice to the items. We ordered a variety of items from the appetizers to both main meat and vegetarian dishes.
Order an Indian spiced cocktail - no spice at all.
Loved the food and the piano player
Went for my birthday. Everything was perfect and having the piano player play Happy Birthday as the waiter brought me a surprise dessert capped off the evening w/ a flourish!
I love the Bombay Club and I only get there about once a year because I do not live in DC. For a celebratory lunch, this is a fantastic choice.
Haven't been at Bombay Club for a while. The place looks and feels a little tired, decor, service, food, even lighting. Used to be one of my favorites, now just average.
I love Bombay Club. We always have wonderful service and the food is fantastic. Great place for vegan and vegetarian friends. A little noisy this time though !
Food superb. Service was cold and brusk
too much noise we could not hear each other. I do not think it is worth the price. very congested place too.
We had a fabulous dinner at Bombay House. Food was beautifully presented and tasted even more amazing than it looked. The atmosphere is elegant. The decor and table settings are truly fine dining—live music provided by a pianist contributed to a truly delightful dining experience. Our waiter Rinu provided lots of information about the menu selections and was professionally attentive and warm. One of the best dining experiences in many visits to DC. Food, ambiance and service—outstanding. And the best Indian food we’ve tasted anywhere!
Food is very good but portions are small. Prices are high for lunch. It’s very noisy but conversation was possible. The couch- like seating on one side of the table is not great for eating.
Our food was very good and the servers were very knowledgable about the menu. This place is a bit higher-end for an Indian restaurant, probably due to its close proximity to the White House and Capitol Hill. You can expect white table clothes and multiple servings of silverware on the table.
I'm coming from the midwest, so I shouldn't be surprised by the higher prices of everything in DC, but it is something to be aware of. I think my meal cost roughly $10 more than a similar meal back home.
It was a birthday dinner and they bought brought a really nice sorbet dessert with colorful sorbets and liquid in it for his birthday. It was really fun.
I have been dining at the Bombay Club since it opened in the mid-80s. It is unfailingly one of the best of Asahk Bajaj's many fine eateries. The manager on duty yesterday, Beycan Atalay, has the front of the house well in hand, and the kitchen was superb, as it always is.
Great meal, waiter was very helpful and the taste was delicious. Loves the Kale starter!!
DC’s finest Indian restaurant!
While the food and the service were adequate, the setting is so lovely that I would be inclined to recommend this restaurant to someone who had never been there before.
We love the ambiance of The Bombay Club in that it is so colonial British and takes you to another place where you forget you're in Washington. The food was very good and the service was excellent.
