Best Indian food and vibes in nyc
The food was some of the best Indian food that I’ve had in NYC. The ambiance is also great and our waitress was wonderful - it was clear that she cares a lot about the restaurant and providing the best service possible. The experience was great and I look forward to going back. A place that is important to support during the pandemic!
Everything was superb. The Dal Makani the best I have ever had. Sara was wonderful.
Amazing menu. Tastes divinely good. Highly recommend the shrimp cocktail and the chicken byriani.
The cocktails are great.
Loved the staff, Sara our hostess was exceptional
Excellent Sunday night dinner here, drinks are top notch and the food is also amazing. Lots of flavor, cooked perfectly and free option for garlic naan make this place one of the best for us.
Great atmosphere. Great food. Great service. Highly recco'd
Great food and service. But a bit cramped and noisy.
Mishandling of reservation and seating when we first arrived. Hostess / head waiter tried hard to correct. Overcompensation was just awkward even though well intentioned. Music too loud and difficult to have a conversation with friends. Food was fine.
The restaurant's ambiance made you feel like you were in the movie "Casablanca". It would be a great place for a romantic dinner.
We dine Indian frequently. This is the best I have ever had. We forgot to ask about spice level so my wife’s was a bit to warm for her taste but still excellent.
charming, neighborhood find. cozy, snug and quiet enough for conversation. service, cocktails and atmosphere suburb; food a knock out. everything we tried, even the fried okra, was well prepared, tasty, attractively served. not to be missed.
We heard about this restaurant on line as recommended and were most pleasantly surprised to find the level of food so very high. Apparently it will now be called the Drunk Munkey due to a dispute among former partners. It's on Cornelia Street in the West Village. Wonderful cocktails, delicious entrees and breads, and friendly staff. The music was a mixture of Indian and 60-70's American. We can't wait to go back on our next visit to the city.
Excellent food. Very good service. Best Indian food in NYC, by far. The pork vindaloo, Rogan Ghosh, and lamb biryani are among the best food I've had in my life. Although good, I suggest skipping the Tikka masala as this place shines much brighter in so many other places. The cocktails are also good.
Great cocktails. Good food. Very, very loud. Somewhat slow service.
Incredible meal. Superb cocktails. Will have to return.
If you want a fun and festive Indian dining experience, then Drunken Munkey is the place to go! Went there for my friend's 50th birthday and although the restaurant is small, our party of 7 fit right in and had the most wonderful experience. The food, atmosphere and overall experience were outstanding. Highly recommend!
