Bollywood Bar & Clay Oven
Food and service was amazing, it has a noisy environment but not the worst.
Excellent experience. Food is outstanding, especially the charred corn.
Delicious fun place, but way too loud. I ended up having a panic attack from the noise and # of people there. I had to yell to be heard by my dining companion.
I loved Bollywood Bar and Clay Oven. The food was fresh, the drinks were unique and our service was absolutely top notch. They have a great happy hour menu too. My wife and I will be going back.
Food was ok but nothing special. With Indian food, one expects spices and flavors to burst from the plate, but in our experience here we did not find that to be the case. The food was not bland, but nor was it exceptionally flavorful. Just average. The temperature was also not ideal, as the food arrived warm but not hot.
Restaurant is really loud. Tables are close together so you find yourself overhearing every conversation. Could use noise baffling.
Bartenders were excellent. They were upbeat, friendly and knowledgeable. Wait staff seemed stressed.
Bartenders were excellent. Very positive and welcoming. Wait staff seemed stressed.
The food was SO delicious and the drinks were amazing! Our Server was so kind and knowledgeable about the menu and food...I am definitely coming back!
We were excited to visit Bollywood for the 1st time. The restaurant is extremely noisy & you must shout to talk & hear your dining companion even though you are seated at a small table for two. We ordered a special drink recommended by the server & a brand gin on the rocks. The special drink was very weak& the brand gin requested did not taste like the brand. The salmon dish was not very pink-definitely not wild (was over cooked)& the sauce surrounding it was quite bland. The cauliflower appetizer was good, but overpriced at $12. The brown rice was very dry. The nan with cheese was very tasty & spicy. The desert which looked like ice cream sandwiches between 2 pairs of Lorna Doone cookies & cut in 4 pieces was ok, but cost $8. Not coming back.
SO happy this new establishment is in Santa Rosa. Absolutely delicious. Generous and flavorful portions. Restaurant week was especially great as we were able to try all of the offerings amongst 4 people. Awesome wait staff. Love love.
It was Restaurant Week so very crowded. We were seated upstairs and the noise level was extremely loud. Other than that, the service was good and the food excellent.
Went for restaurant week and special dinner was fabulous especially the crispy cauliflower and the chicken tikka Marsala. We sat upstairs which was noisy. Ambience and noise level much better downstairs
We were seated upstairs, which had a big impact on our experience. It’s got low ceilings so kind of claustrophobic. We were seated at first near a vent blowing cold air so we asked to be moved to the open table next to the original table which was fine but the ceiling was even lower due to venting. Plus bothe tables were near the upstairs service station, which was, by nature, noisy. Upstairs is where large parties are seated, so at first there was a noisy family shooting flash photography and being disruptive, and then an even larger birthday party. Fortunately we were leaving before that party really got started. That said, our servers were great, informative and personable. The food was great. My drink, the Mumbai mule, was pretty though weak. The wine list needs a dry gewertztraminer which is the perfect accompaniment to Indian food (and there are good local producers, like Paul Mathew). The verdicchio was quite good. All told we loved the food and service was friendly, and we will return but we will insist on being seated downstairs. Oh, nice selection of vegan dishes; you could indicate which dishes can easily be made vegan
Four of us had the prefix lunch menu and were delighted with our choices, all the food, in fact. Will definitely go again, but not for dinner because I hear it's very loud. We are too old!
Delicious 1st time dinner at Bollywood
Loved the place and deco
We started with the Avocado Bathura. I am guessing the avocado is there just for color maybe?, not for the taste for sure but we enjoyed it anyhow , we ordered Crispy Cauliflower which we loved , perfect amount of heat, delicious dish
Our Chicken Tikka Masala was ordered with sides of wild mushrooms, brown rice quinoa, apple chutney and cucumber raita. Great flavors in all dishes , hot food was served hot and the portions are just right
Good selection of wine by the glass.
Didn't have room for dessert but will return and highly recommend.
Bollywood came highly recommended and based on my experience was unwarranted. The noise level upstairs was unbearable at 5:15pm. Being upstairs is not where you want to be. It was very difficult for the waiters to properly service their tables. The menu was very unique, but hard to understand. However our waiter was able to assist us. We had a total of 5 dishes of which two very good. The other 3 I would not order again.
This is my second time to dine at Bollywood and it's a great place. The ambiance is classy and full of energy. Everyone on staff was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious.
The cocktails were outstanding...happy hour prices are great....shrimp appetizer not recommended...lamb shank a bit dry and the beans were in a too sweet/smoky sauce and somewhat undercooked. Naan with ghee was very bland. Dessert was some coconut dish, well executed and tasty
delicious food. Can get pricy. Place is done nicely. Service is good and wait staff friendly
This was our second time to Bollywood and we will definitely go back. The Indian Fusion food is creative and delicious. We especially loved the Ahi, Cauliflower, Saag Paneer, Pokoras and the Avocado Naan. My husband also really enjoyed the charred corn and the mushrooms.
Service was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Nice wine selection by the glass.
Great addition to the downtown Santa Rosa dining scene!
The pork belly is amazing, you can’t go wrong with a curry and we love the brussel sprouts and cauliflower dishes.
The food is delicious, refined, fresh. We shared several happy hour appetizers then ordered several more from the main menu along with entrees. All were delicious; I particularly enjoyed the brussels sprouts with lentils; eggplant + potato were very tasty too. Our server was adept, attentive though not hovering. We'd been advised on Open Table that our table was ours for 2 hours. When the host asked if we could leave at 1 hour 40 minutes--we were finishing up--my friends agreed, not knowing I was waiting for change from having paid the check. When the server brought the change to us as we stood in the passageway, our host apologized very politely for having asked us to leave before the check was settled. I though that was very gracious & quite rare in today's world when people are slow to apologize. Both the server + our host were professional and smooth in making us feel welcome + attended to with one of us using a walker. And the food is terrific!
Fantastic food fantastic service!
Disappointed that there were only 2 entree selections for lunch. Regular menu doesn’t begin until 4:00. What we had was good but simple. I would return for an evening meal but prefer to have my larger meal midday Please serve expanded menu for lunch
Great food a little loud but it was Valentine's day
We had a lovely Valentine’s Day meal! We have been here once before and had a lovely experience as well and will keep coming back. My favorite dish there is the lamb chops and the tiki chicken masala.
You will not be disappointed on any level. And happy hour is a steal.
I had the lamb chops which were so tough I had to ask for a steak knife, they were well seasoned but challenging. My dining companion was very pleased with the salmon. I would try once more before I give up on Bollywood.
The cocktails are so fun and the food very inventive. I felt like my tastebuds might explode! Highly recommend this place for a fun evening out!
I love this restaurant! Great Happy hour food and drinks menu. We weren't aware we were there during happy hour but were glad when we found out. We ordered a great vodka drink with turmeric in it. Very tasty. We ended ordering all of our dinner from the starters menu. My only issue was I should have included a salad. Everything we had was delicious and well priced. I strongly reccommend this restaurant but make reservations as other people love it too!
We've been here many times and always enjoy it. This time we were seated upstairs and it was very noisy. I was told that they are installing noise-canceling panels tomorrow, so hopefully this will diminish the noise level. We also had problems with our food orders, but since this was due to a computer programming glitch, I trust it won't happen again. The manager very generously made it right. We have reservations again in four days...that's how much we like it!
Had a very fatty smoked lamb shank with hard uneatable chick peas. Why are people talking about this place. Wasn’t impressed when I ate there at lunch, thought I would give it a second chance. Won’t go back.
There could be more Vegan options. I thought I was going to an Indian restaurant which always has many Vegan options. The staff were all GREAT. The food was good.
Absolutely overdue in Sonoma County: a truly gourmet Indian food experience, and Bollywood delivers. The place was buzzing so loud that our server got our orders wrong--twice--but made everything right. A fabulous meal was capped off by a creative, unusual, and delicious dessert.
Great for a date or dinner with foodie friends, but be prepared to shout!
Great food, cool setting. Loved the historic building with a modern vibe.
Great drinks and good food.
Do not leave this place without trying the vegetable pakoras. One of the most flavorful dishes I've ever had...anywhere. Really enjoyed the vibe, the cocktails and wine list. The food was quite tasty and I'll definitely be coming back. The owner was super friendly and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. We had the beef curry (hearty), pork belly vindaloo (spicy), Brussels sprouts (healthy) and eggplant (our least favorite). We got a rice pudding for our friend who watched our kids and she said it was off the charts good and she'd go to restaurant just for that item alone.
Very delicious Indian. Best I've had in the area.
Very good meal overall, I would definitely go back. Loved the spinach paneer with the naan and the cauliflower.
We met for a lovely lunch, enjoyed the atmosphere and prix fixe menu that made
it easy to make selections. The portions were generous and the food was delicious!
The take away from dinner or lunch at the Bollywood Bar & Clay Oven is simple. The Indian cuisine indicative of Punjab influences, introduces a step-up from traditional Indian restaurants because of its dedicated staff and chef who serve a variety of never before experienced delicious dishes. My new must have dish is the crispy cauliflower. Also be reassured, if someone in your group cannot imagine anything other than a steak - point them to the Creekstone Farms Ribeye - a paleo eaters delight. One word of warning - once you taste from its menu, you may not be able to resist returning over and over. Last word of advice, the Happy Hour is the best deal in town...
