The wait staff were lovely and friendly. The food was delicious. The ambiance was perfect.
Had a really lovely evening out at Bolete, the food and cocktails were delicious, and staff was attentive and friendly. Also their cheesecake might just be the most perfect cheesecake around.
Took my Mom for dinner. Although nearly empty (Tuesday night), it was still inviting and had a warm feel. Decor was modern and simple, minimal but not sparse. Service was very attentive and friendly, but not overbearing. Food presentation was excellent, as was the taste: potion sizes were perfect. Cost on the high side of medium but fair. Would definately return.
It took an hour and 15 minutes from the time of ordering to the time our main course arrived. Our server was extremely apologetic but for whatever the reason the kitchen couldn't seem to produce two simple orders. The couple at the table next to us got up and walked out when their meals failed to appear. The restaurant wasn't overly busy, but the kitchen couldn't seem to keep up. Server staff was wonderful. And the meal itself was fabulous, once it arrived.
Bolete was the perfect place for us to celebrate our Valentine Day. The dishes were inventive and delicious, the ambiance was bright and lively; and everyone nearby was clearly enjoying the restaurant as much as we were. We'll return time and time again!

We had dinner before a concert. Excellent food and good service. Although a bit pricey I’d return any time.
Our experience was frustrating. We were on our way to a concert which the restaurant was aware of and we waited 1.5 hours to get our food which meant we had 15 minutes to eat and get to the concert. With that said, the food was delicious. The delay was no fault of our server. She did everything she could to help us. The restaurant was overbooked and the kitchen just couldn’t keep up with the orders.

Went here for my birthday. Our waitress smelled of cigarettes and wasn’t personable whatsoever. The food was over priced and bland. The ambiance was lovely but I think that’s about the only positive I have. Was so disappointed because of all the hype. Doubt we will be back.
Rack of lamb was excellent. Salmon mousse ravioli was just OK.
The food was amazing. Will definitely be back!

Recommended by family as they had eaten the chef's food at another location. Attended and was greeted by the hostess who took our coats. Observed that there were 3 other tables in various states of their meals. Seated at a table in poor condition extremely wobbly. The building is old I understand however many renovations were done and yet the floor had a noticeable dip which affected the table. Chairs were modern and uncomfortable. No cocktail list. Hostess was our waitress. Long wait times for food even though once again only 4 tables present. 5th table arrived towards end of our meal, would have ordered dessert however waitress had seated, taken drink orders, served drinks, taken appetizers order and served appetizers prior to questioning if we wanted dessert.
The food was good, the service needed improvement, the price point is too high for the experience obtained.

My husband & I went for dinner but it sure will not be the last time. The soup, wings & lamb were excellent! We highly recommend this restaurant!!

We have always had great service at Bolete, but on this occasion we had to wait for over 35 minutes for our cocktails!! and they weren’t even made right! Our starters were delicious but the main courses were a big let down and over cooked/deep fried.
The olive starter was great. Beef was very tasty as was the duck. Pasta needed more seasoning. Desserts were delicious. The service was excellent and the music was soft enough to allow for a good conversation.
The service was fantastic. Not overbearing, just timely and genuinely friendly. The food was fantastic. I never order a vegetarian main course, but the corn and polenta salad seemed interesting. It did not disappoint. It was light, fresh, and packed with flavor. If you’re in St. Catherine’s this place is definitely worth checking out.

Had a very pleasant time. Order the salmon tartare was excellent. The eggplant dumpling was good not great. Pork belly was outstanding. Had the chocolate Carmel brûlée : if you are a chocolate person it was very good, I’m not so I expected a creamer brûlée with a hint of chocolate but it was more a chocolate brûlée with only a minor hint of caramel.
All in all a very nice evening- will serve going back.
Service was friendly and proficient- although I felt the server let me down on the dessert as I asked if it was more chocolate than caramel and they weren’t sure - which means they either haven’t had it or it has not been explained to them. At those prices I expect the staff to know the menu

Very creative chef, perfectly prepared and presented food, all of it, the appetizer, the main course and the dessert. Unbelievable surprise to find this quality in St . Catharines after the widespread mediocrity in so many restaurants in Ontario. Go soon, before the chef is lured away.
We were looking for a fine dining rest. July 14. On Open Table Bolete’s name appeared. It was local, not far away. We viewed the write up describing Bolete and it seemed to be just what we were looking for. And it was! It’s large enough not to be quaint, and small enough not to feel franchise. The menu was ideal, a single page. The service fantastic. We started with fresh oysters (Malpeque). They were shucked perfectly, clean and well presented. We drank Oast beer, always a good choice. Humbolt squid and a salmon tar-tar were next. My suggestion, “try these as you’ll be sorry to have missed out if you don’t”. The main course was halibut, and seared pork belly, both with seasonal veggies. We opted out of desert as we were pleasantly full. And, to add to the great evening, it was well within reasonably priced. We’d easily recommend Bolete.

Restaurant was hot - no ac on a very warm evening, noise level was uncomfortable, food was good but small portion for the cost. would not return, wait staff seemed put out that we asked for my grandson's beef to be cooked a little more.
Never disappoints! Food and drinks are always top notch.
I was dining with 2 others. All was going well until 7 pm when a DJ began playing very loud, electronic type music. It became very difficult to hear each other from that point on. It spoiled what had been a great meal.
Excellent food... all courses. Will come here again.

It was a return visit for my husband and me and it met our fave review for the friends that came with us, this visit.
Great evening with some friends. I had the lamb a couple people had Cornish hen and one had the pickerel. All food done perfectly and service was amazing. We continue to go back as the meals are always fantastic.
Mother’s Day brunch after a local run; excellent meal and service, and they made a regular burger and fries for my daughter who didn’t care for anything in the menu. Only complaint is one that we have of many restaurants- no sound proofing in the walls and therefore conversation from other tables is loud and it’s hard to hear across our table. Highly recommend, however.
