Lovely decor. Wonderful service staff. Very attentive and polite and friendly.
Food was lovely. If you’re not an adventurous eater don’t come here. There’s nothing boring or usual about this menu.
Prices average for what you’re getting and the location, setting of the restaurant.
Very small menu which I love. It means everything is made fresh and made well. Menu is confusing if you’re not familiar with this cuisine but the staff are very nice about explaining every detail and we’re very polite and patient about it.
We don’t eat red meat or alcohol so they were very thorough to let us know what we could eat.
I had a virgin mohita and it’s one of the better ones I’ve had.
It was absolutely freezing when we went there in a heat wave, so maybe take a jacket to wear once you sit down to eat.
Roof top did not open and I’m guessing this might have been as it was so hot outside? I didn’t really ask.
It was a lovely treat and my little one was very brave and ate some baby octopus! Me...not as brave ha!
It’s ok the top of the Kimpton Gray so if you’re staying there it’s definitely worth a trip.

Nice place with good food but unfortunately we were 4 and the small tapas plates came one by one with 10 minutes minimum waiting in between which was totally inconvenient especially when you are hungry ... Therefore we would not recommend this restaurant.

What a find!!! We wanted something within walking distance to the Blue Line in the loop and thought that tapas would be tasty and fast. Boy were we delighted with this meal! First we discovered it is on the roof and as it was nice, the roof was open and had a spectacular view. Our server was attentive, the food was as good as it sounded - pulpito (octopus), pork belly, yucca fries and ceviche just to make a few - all delicious. The drinks were fun and exciting too. We came for a quick meal and had a feast (and was still out in perfect time). We’ll be back!

Came in on a Saturday night with reservations and got seated immediately. The server was super friendly and easy going. Tried a couple different drinks, as their drink menu was intriguing. The food is tapas style, so small portions, shareable. Also tried a few different plates and loved all of it. Would definitely recommend to try.

The staff was great! The hostess was super accommodating, the bartenders where attentive and our waitress, Molly, did a great job with our large group.
I love the cocktail list but I do wish they had more of a varity for Happy hour. The happy hour list includes only 2 pisco cocktails (one of which they didn't even have) two wines on tap and some beers.
The atmosphere was beautiful but the acoustics are terrible. Sound was just bouncing back and forth of the walls so it was very hard to hear my friends sitting directly across from me.

Boleo is such a hidden gem! While all the crowds hover over river north and downtown rooftops I’m chilling at Boleo. I live for that retractable roof! Although Chicago weather is unpredictable we happened to be there on an absolutely beautiful night! Drinks were on point, DJ was spinning, service was good, ambience is what you come back for!

Very cool interior design but I should've read the menu before as their main attraction is drinks vs. food. They had small plates vs. a full menu. So I was disappointed because we came for dinner. Also, $9 for yucca fries seems pretty high. Overall, would recommend this spot for drinks vs. dinner.

The whole experience was too boring! It didnt feel like I was at a latin restaurant. I know it says small plates, but they are way too small. It should say: tiny plates. When I made the reservation I left a note requesting a dessert or a slice of cake with some candles on it for my friend birthday and when I asked they didnt have any idea about my request, I had to ask twice to get the alfajores with one candle on them.

We had a really wonderful dinner at Boleo; I wish the service had been half as good. We were left alone for long periods of time, I twice had to remind the waitstaff that the glass of wine I ordered hadn't been delivered, and tapas were unceremoniously tossed onto our table with no serving utensils or clean plates offered ( we had to ask for everything). That said, the food was truly wonderful. So: high points for food, very low one for service. Proceed at your own risk.

Service started out good, but quickly went downhill when server appeared to be overwhelmed! Gave me the check. I had a question immediately, she ignored me, tryin go get the next customer order in at the next table, then she walked away. Even the tank guests next to me thought it was odd and apologized. I walked out and found the manager to pay my bill. I truly hate to think this was a black thing.

Molly our server was very personable and attentive throughout our experience at the restaurant. I would highly recommend the rooftop bar as it was is always a safe option just in case Chicago weather decides to change swiftly. I was still able to enjoy the sky windows and escape from the thunderstorm.

Modern vibe with friendly hosts who genuinely enjoy meeting guests. Server was awesome, sensing when to ask and when to step aside. Staff kept our water glasses full and dirty plates removed. We happened to arrive during happy hour and focused on anticuchos. Highly recommend gamba (shrimp) & pollo (chicken). The empanadas were very tasty and apparently beat Bobby Flay. Pero, no mi abeula's. Drink menu had nice options, including an Argentine sparkling wine. The only problem was the deafening noise level compounded by a DJ. Overall a place I'd revisit.

I went off the yelp-reviews and thought it'd be perfectly fine as many complemented the food. We were however disappointed. There were 4 of us and we ordered 9 items on the menu and they all sounded really good on paper, but none really delivered in terms of a taste sensation. Besides, the portions were very small and served in a weird order, where we ended up eating rice as a last course, rather than accompanying the scewers etc. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing was really good either. Would have been ok if it had been cheap, but not considering what we could have gotten in the same price range. Service was really good, though, as well as the drinks - so I could go back for a cocktail but won't be doing dinner again.

Got together with some of my girls for dinner. This place is so cute, with the tropical feel and decor. We were told that the rooftop retracts in the summer so we will definitely be back for that!

When we walked in, my best friend realized she knew the manager from where she used to work and he was so kind as to give us some free champagne to start off the night! Thank you Matt!!

The food was tapas style and SO GOOD! We got plantain and puffed corn to start, gambas, vegetarian empanadas, and arroz chaufa! Everything was so flavorful and delicious, my favorite was by far the arroz chaufa.

Now the cocktails! I got the B-Side to Hollywood which was like juice, so delicious but a little on the sweet side. I then switch to the Moscatel (recommendation from our server, who was extremely pleasant but can’t remember his name!) this was a very strong drink but it didn’t taste strong, it was subtle yet flavorful.

At the end of the night we found out the manager had the food comped and we were so extremely thankful and will definitely be back when the weather is nicer!!

The "server" was terrible. He literally did nothing.
Thankfully, the host was very attentive and pretty took our food and drink order.
The food was very tasty. Drinks were also very good... once we were able to order.

I'd go back again, but would avoid the section we ended up in.
