Michelin starred Boka Restaurant has been a fixture in Chicago dining since 2003. In January 2014, Chef Lee Wolen joined as Executive Chef/Partner after the restaurant underwent a major renovation. Since his time at Boka, critics have taken notice. Phil Vettel of Chicago Tribune and Eater Chicago both named Lee as “2014 Chef of the Year.” Most recently, Lee was named 2015 “Chef of the Year." Boka’s food features contemporary, American cuisine, focusing on seasonality and sourcing as many local ingredients as possible.

When I told them that my only regret was sharing the ricotta dumplings they brought us another portion with the main dish.
The duck was perfect, maybe the best we have ever had. Crispy outside and perfectly cooked (medium/rare) inside. All delicious.

Outstanding service and food!
Wonderful food - we opted for the 8 course tasting menu, paired with the aged beef tartare. Absolutely phenomenal! The serves are great, always attentive and were helpful. There are wine pairings, however, we went with some cocktails, which too, were absolutely amazing.

Excellent bar staff service, cocktails (One Hour Photo, Crown of Aragon), bread and dessert. Dry Age Duck was good and the best dish we had at BOKA (prefer duck in china town however), sadly the ricotta dumplings were extremely salty, Spanish octopus quite fishy tasting (prefer Purple Pig octopus). The manager was very attentive and accommodating which was greatly appreciated.

It was a dining experience that was so incredible it was almost spiritual. This will be the best restaurant I have ever been to for the rest of my life.
It is a rare thing when you drop $500 bucks on a dinner to not feel like you spent a ton of money. HOWEVER at this place you feel like the tab should have been $500 more.
Phenomenal service on the patio. Take the time to savor summer and savor Boka. Ricotta dumplings and the duck are highly recommended.

Boka: Superb New American restaurant that is Celiac/Gluten Friendly. Boka goes above and beyond in experience from really thought of ingredients, GLUTEN FREE BREAD that tastes great, fantastic service, I truly recommend this Michelin Star restaurant.
We went there for our anniversary and got a very nice and quiet table, in the covered patio. We felt treated as special guest ! The tasting 8 courses menu is really more than delicious, and a new discovery for each plate!

Excellent service and a well priced wine list, but we have had much better degustations at any number of restaurants! So that was disappointing. The restaurant is too dark and gloomy to be attractive; it could use some brighter color and fresh flowers at that price point.
We were celebrating our daughter's 25th birthday - It was the first time at Boka for all of us. We loved everything about it. The food, the wine, the service, the ambience; even the price. It was very reasonable for a top Chicago restaurant. We will definitely return and recommend Boka to our friends. Thanks for a great evening!
For the members of my party without dietary restriction, the dinner was excellent; however, one member of my party is vegan. I had selected Boka due to reports that they catered well to vegan/vegetarian restrictions. While parts of the meal were well done, we were very disappointed with his entree, which consisted of carrots and greens without any protein, despite it being stated on the menu. For a restaurant of this caliber, especially one that states that they are happy to accommodate dietary restriction, this was a bit of a letdown.
We went here for our anniversary. Very good service and decor. We liked the special touches like the menu printed with the Happy Anniversary on it, the tasty sorbet/mouse at the beginning of the meal. Good looking and tasty dishes. The restaurant is a bit on a pricey side.

Wow! My wife and I celebrated her 40th birthday at Boka this last weekend. I have dined at a number of Michelin-starred restaurants, and this is in a class of its own. We each selected the 8-course tasting menu, which was spectacular. Courses were well sized and the pace of the meal was impeccable. Boka is a restaurant that is not to be missed when in Chicago.
So delicious every bite and our waiter was wonderful.

Such a well hidden gem. One of the best meals I've had in Chicago. Up there with the flavors from Alinea. Definitely worth it.

Amazing place for special occasion with professional staff and attentive kitchen. Food is out of this world. Would highly recommend to try Pavlova dessert and lamb steak there. I’ve tried Pavlova many times but this one is nothing to compare with! Keep it up guys, we will remember our visit for years. Thank you for making my birthday memorable!

It was my first tasting menu experience and I absolutely enjoyed it. The restaurant knew I came to celebrate my birthday and went above and beyond to create a personalized “happy birthday” greeting with my name on the dinner menu. Our waiter gave us a thorough explanation of the 8 course tasting menu for the night and recommendations if we order from a la carte. Of course, we went with the 8 course tasting menu. At the end of the night, he also gave us a lot of free goodies (chocolates, macarons, candies, small muffins) to take home. As amazing as the food tastes, it was truly the service from the staff that made it a memorable dining experience for me. They truly lived up to being a one star Michelin restaurant. I would gladly come back again in the near future!
