Would have been very very disappointed had a I paid full price (we used Groupon voucher)
When you arrive they tell you it will take 45 minutes to cook a steak and so you have to get a starter. No complimentary bread. Ambience was awful, live music half way through slightly helped.
Food wasn’t bad, just average. Much nicer steak places out there
Very good service and friendly staff. Great live music and delicious food!
Very enjoyable. Great service.
A fun place to eat, with live music making for a great ambience. Unfortunately, the food and service weren't up to the standards of previous visits; however, this would not stop me from visiting again.
Good food, pricey but it’s Mayfair. Busy restaurant but service was very efficient and pleasent.
Service was a little hit or miss - mixed wines, spilled wines, and the steak was returned... but overall a enjoyable meal.
we had a lovely evening, very nice food, caring and attentive manager, nice ambiance
I had been to the Belgravia Boisdale previously and had an excellent evening & thought that the Mayfair branch would be similarly enjoyable.
However - the manager suggested that as I'd used opentable's 50% off deal, we had come for the money not for the jazz, and therefore deserved a table further from the jazz, versus diners who had booked through another site. Given I'd been to another branch previously, and had actually come for the jazz, this wasn't particularly appreciated.
The jazz then wasn't jazz - mostly smooth covers of pop/recent chart hits.
My food was good, my partner's food wasn't.
This is the Mayfair branch of the Scottish-themed Boisdale chain. Fun pub atmosphere with food that is well prepared and tasty, certainly not slimming!
Up scale pub
Mediocre menu and food
Good for piano night
Lovely evening great food excellent service all unanimous we are going back
Excellent experience, highly recommend it.
I had the pasta special - langostine. Very light (as in one) on langostine for price. Likewise my friends prawn and crayfish sandwich was light on prawn and crayfish..
A waitress who lied that she is the Manager of the restaurant was unbelievably rude and out of line. I will never ever go there again and tell everyone not to go. This is unacceptable.
The service was delightful - very helpful, personable, and fun. Food was very delish. Great steak and rarebits. Would definitely return again!
Amazing restaurant with great atmosphere, delicious food and friendly staff.
we had a great table till it rained then we were seated at another good table inside despite it being packed! a lovely meal we all enjoyed.
I did enjoy the Boisdale with my group of friends. Nice and courteous staff, and mostly attentive. They had ran out of the Chateaubriand steak which was a disappointment so I then ordered the Ribeye steak medium rare as did another in my group. They both came back as really well done which I mentioned to the waiter but nothing was done about it.
Everything else was fine but please address the overdone steaks better next time.
The baby Boisdale has been open for around 18 months now and has settled into the McDonald family very nicely. It has a gastropub vibe which is no bad thing and lacks the pretension of much else of what is on offer in Mayfair. The food was good and the service excellent. That said, for the true Boisdale experience, Belgravia remains the Head Boy.
Very nice manager, nice deal 0n the champagne, slight smell of oil inside and I wasn’t 100% sure of the freshness of the turbot, but it was a Monday.
Great location good service and good music.
Probably a little pricey but was worth it as we had a very enjoyable evening.
Food good but get a bit bored of their menu as quite basic and never seems to change! Also quiet empty but nice atmosphere and service good as usual.
The decor is old and dated
Staff very friendly but there is a somewhat feeling that
no one really knows exactly whats going on.
Food tasty but roast cod was more steamed cod and avocado salad was
not quite a salad
They also messed up our bill
Piano player/singer was too loud and out of tune
Everyone was very friendly. Food was outstanding and service was very good too! Recommended
Lovely ambiance, service and food - special thanks to Carla for providing a fab evening!
Great food, great service, great ambiance. This branch of Boisdale with its cozy small rooms may even be better than the original Belgravia HQ. Super service, the tempting and mouthwatering Boisdale menu. This time we just had burgers and a glass of wine (as we were in a bit of a rush) - which were superior and delicious. Wonderful succulent meat, crispy chunky chips, luscious bernaise sauce. Perfect for a cold Friday in February! A splendid new-ish addition to the restaurant wasteland of Marble Arch!
Il Boisdale of Mayfair rimane sempre una certezza. Cibo sicuramente all’altezza con gradite sorprese sul fronte pesce. Servizio impeccabile e di grande simpatia. Una selezione di whiskey di altissimo livello. Ovviamente anche il conto è proporzionato :)
Fantastic evening with some mates. Food was brilliant, wine delicious and atmosphere charming. Thanks
Excellent Sunday Roast beef with unlimited prossecco and claret and a jazz singer who was brilliant. What more can you want?
There’s great food & a most enjoyable time at this terrific restaurant. My first time at this Mayfair location. I think my preference is for the one in Victoia though.
I look forward to dinning there again
Great live music and cosy atmosphere.
Good food and a great service. Worth the visit. We were a table of 5 adults with a buggy (not too much space for the buggy, but we finally fit it). We order a couple of burgers and pasta as main dishes, and the food was delicious. We were served by a nice blonde lady who was very helpful. It is a good place to have a nice lunch or dinner.
Second time I go here and it continues to deliver. Great food. The service can be a bit hit-and-miss, but it’s a small place so you will be attended to fairly quickly. The smoked haddock is to die for.
Excellent music and food. Restaurant did not have booking, had to wait 30 minutes at bar for table. Bernaise sauce for steak delivered 10 minutes after steak was delivered. Was asked to clear table for next guest when we had barely been there an hour and was seated late.
Great atmosphere and live music, although the markup on our bottle alone would have paid for half an hour of Elton John. Food frankly mediocre, would compete with your local pub - at least it's priced accordingly. Yet your local is likely not in Mayfair.
Very good authentic food (especially the haggis).
Great choice of english cheeses, superbly put in display for clients to taylor-made their cheese board.
Good wine list.
And great scottish-colored deco !
Went here with a dear, old friend. We kept it light: Potted shrimp to share, followed by the gratinated smoked haddock with leeks.
Potted shrimps came with a lightly dressed salad and rustic toast - clean flavors and highly enjoyable.
The fish was cooked to perfection. The slightly acidic, yet creamy, sauce went perfectly with the rich, smoky flavor of the haddock.
A good bottle of Italian white on the side and that's all you really need for an evening with excellent company and conversation.
Fun and lively atmosphere with live music
Excellent meal, service and ambiance! We will return!
