BOGNERS OF PENTICTON
The dedicated Staff operates a private farm in the mornings making them near self-sufficient in the Summer and Fall months.
First time back in this year. Meal was excellent as always. Can't wait for our next visit.
Beautiful old building set in the heart of downtown. Service was excellent! I told the server that I was Celiac and she explained what was safe to eat and special adaptations the chef could make on most menu items. Wine menu was very good featuring excellent local wines.
This was a long overdue date night. I was in charge and after some research and asking around (we are from out of town) I picked Bogners. This restaurant was perfect! We picked a slow time and it allowed Darrin (owner and head cook) to come by to chat with us. He helped us pick our dinner choices and explained how he sources his local ingredients. When the first appy showed up (tuna poke) I new we were in good hands the presentation and flavors were amazing. We probably tried half the menu and everything was delicious.
Thank you Darrin for the memorable date night!
Our server was the owner who spent some good quality time with us explaining some of the dishes. But not so much time as we were still able to visit with our friends. We had a cozy corner of the room and did not feel the others dining there were too close. It was our first time there and we will definitely return! Fabulous food/great ambiance/and overall lovely experience! Worth the cost, thanks so much!
Mix up with my husbands first course so I was finished mine by the time his arrived. He was barely finished when our mains arrived.
Even though there are not that many tables the noise level was noticeable. But once food arrived and the tables closest to us were eating conversational flow as much better.
Very limited menu. Had the ribs, found them dry. The sauce nothing special maybe out of a bottle.
The ambience and service were great. The food was not - small portions. The duck was undercooked. The charcuterie platter was so thinly served there was not much to share. We were expecting so much more from this restaurant and were very disappointed. Especially as the final bill was very high. We will not be returning.
Arrived on time. Staff accommodated our request to move to a window table because the group in the nest room was quite loud and my husband and I had difficulty hearing our server. Service was prompt and friendly. Wine was excellent. Menu choices were limited, but what was offered was delicious. Parking behind Bogners was free. And the chocolate mousse was yummmmm.
Awesome. We went to celebrate an anniversary but being relatively new to the area didn’t know exactly where to go, so we took a bit of a chance based on the beauty of the building. It was amazing food, reasonable prices and we will definitely be going back!
Your menu listing does not distinguish what size of a meal you might be receiving.
Ordering the halibut in broth for $24 led me to believe it would be larger than a three-bite morsel. Luckily our server had indicated that the risotto would be a good addition to it. But for $40 combined I didn't think it was good value.
Perhaps by distinguishing your choices by labelling them as an appetiser or entree people would know what to expect.
Everything tasted great though.
Hope this feedback helps.
Value is always a hard thing to swallow, the Halibut is cut to 4.5oz of meat and with it being line caught it is an expensive high quality fish and will lose just a tiny bit in cooking. Similarly the risotto is packed with locally foraged Morel Mushroom and a porcini broth which bring the cost up. Possible one of the other dishes might have been a better balance of price and volume. Our menu does change all the time and with winter months typically heaver dish are created.
Service very attentive.noice level a bit high for two old seniors but realize the building has low ceilings . This would not deter us from returning however . Overall it was very enjoyable
Absolutely fantastic experience. The staff went above and beyond and the food was delicious. We will definitely be recommending this restaurant and will be back. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Wow. This is a gem of a restaurant. We went to Bogners to finish off our day with friends and were so impressed. Chef Darin took the time to talk to us about his dishes and we couldn’t have been more thrilled about the creativity and flavours. Service was impeccable as well. Just a fabulous evening. We will be back for sure!!
Lovely old home with plenty of space for tables. Our server Vanessa was outstanding, she was well informed, attentive but not in the way at all. She could not have been better. The food was interesting, some was excellent and some quite average. Presentation was great but we were a little disappointed in the consistency of the quality.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Bogners. The wild mushroom risotto and croquettes were our favorite, and the ribs and braised beef for our mains were deliciousness. Service was quick and it made for a wonderful, quiet night out. Would definitely visit again!
Amazing food, wonderful ambience, great service and good value. We'll be back for sure
Service was friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. The food was above average with the braised beef being world class. Definitely would dine at Bogners again!
We have been to Bogner's many times and never disappointed. The ambiance is perfect for relaxed dining. Never rushed!

Birthday for my husband so wanted to have a special evening out. It was a lovely meal and we were so happy.
Absolutely incredible food! Best food I have ever had. Not even exaggerating. You can tell the chef is passionate and an artist. And the staff was happy and wonderful!
Interesting menu with unusual but tasty items. The charcuterie board was delicious. My husband had the halibut and said it was cooked well and delicious. The kimchi coleslaw with the ribs was tasty and spicy. The ambience was lovely and our server was top notch.
I was referred to Bogners by a friend and the dishes he recommended were not on the menue anymore but the 4 dishes that our group ordered were all amazing. They regularly change their menue items we found out but we were very impressed with everything we ordered. You should deffinately check this place out.
Loved the seasonal and locally sourced menu. Interesting flavor combination. Although service was good, our waiter did not really know the menu.
Awesome meal, as always! I do miss the tasting menu, but the dishes we ordered were still delicious.
Really well thought out menu concept and all produced from local suppliers, even right there in the restaurant garden. Excellent experience.
Very comfortable and professional. Food was well put together and tasty
Awesome food and service. Enjoyed the experience of all of us at the table being able to share the meals.
Decided to go back after many years!
Service was slow but atmosphere good so needed to just relax!
Food very good but small portion size.
Excellent for having an appie and a dessert!
We were in Penticton to complete the final stages of our Mother's estate and decided to dine at this establishment that we'd known about and passed by so many times. Best decision ever. Wonderful experience and the food absolutely the best in Penticton. Cleanliness was top notch too which is especially important during this challenging time. Highly recommended. Likely won't be back out this way again so it was a perfect end to two years of grieving the loss of our Mother. Only wish we had taken her there!
Outstanding in all aspects. Passionate farm to table and excellent results. Cannot recommend this more highly.
We were the only table not to have a table cloth on the nice patio. The peach salad was interesting and good. The ribs were underdone to my liking and tasted like they used bottled smoke which I do not like. The focaccia bread under the tough brisket was over cooked to the point you could not cut it with a steak knife. Patio ambience was nice but a little tired.
No bottled smoked here, with all our wine friend contacts we use oak wine barrels only to smoke our ribs. the brisket is meant to be a play on a steak sandwich, which is why we call it that on the menu, sorry that wasn't explained to you that night...it is not meant to be pulled pork fall apart but more a golf course strip loin texture. The table you had must have been an indoor table that we brought outside for you and with the stained wood we typically don't put a table cloth on that.
The chef (owner) Darin definitely knows his foods, buys, grows and cooks local. He has an unerring knack of putting together disparate flavors to create a unique taste.
The interesting menu is designed for sharing, so don't expect the normal appetizer, salad, main set up. Much more fun to share tastes.
The flat bread was great, as was the Fatoush salad and beef tornedoes.
Well, well worth a visit.
Our dinner was fantastic. We chose four items to share on the menu and with our different tastes, we both loved each of them. The service was impeccable. We had many informative chats with the chef and learned so much about the region, and wines. We highly recommend it!
This is a family favourite for fine dining, but this time we sat out on the patio and found it a lot noisier than inside seating ... perfect August night, otherwise.
There was no sampling menus this time, like past experiences - I am guessing it is a Covid19 restriction, but many of the menu items were on the sampling menus of the past.
Vegetarian Chilaquiles for myself, just the right amount of heat and a good portion size, son and daughter shared the Spicy Shrimp and Pork Belly (for 2) offering... again, perfectly spiced and the shrimp were huge and fresh. My mother had the brisket sandwich, it was presented so well and we all agreed the Tarragon Aioli garnish on her beef was exquisite (we have an abundant crop of tarragon in our garden... we will try to duplicate Bogner's condiment).
Desserts, all exquisite: Crème brûlée, Cheesecake, Chocolate brownie .... it was hard to pick a favourite.
There was plenty of sparkling and still water for the table, and my mother and I shared a bottle of the Naramata rose on their wine list (sorry, I cannot remember the vineyard ~ but it was the only rose offered).
This was hands down the best meal.we have had from start to finish.
Every dish was well thought out and every ingredient was so integral to the dish . All 5 dishes we had were phenomenal.
This isn't farm to table... this is "back yard to table" as they grow all their own veggies and fruit .
Darin the owner happened to serve us that day and hearing the story of the place and his experience really demonstrated his passion for food and supporting local
When you visit naramata/penticton this is a must stop. I will come back every year just for this dining experience
My favourite restaurant. We were on a road trip from Vancouver to Calgary, and specifically made a stop in Penticton just so we could go to Bogners!
First time ever going and was quite pleasantly surprised by a wonderful evening on the patio. Service matched our pace food was great and a decent wine list. All in all a wonderful eve.
Had another great dinner at Bogners with a new menu. Especially good was the Gravalax and the Duck Confit. Had to have the cheesecake for dessert because it’s the BEST
The food was incredible, just was the serving was more!
