About Bodrum Turkish Mediterranean

Named after the spectacular port city on the Mediterranean’s Turquoise coast, Bodrum breathes some fresh air into the NYC’s Upper West Side with an ambitious, unique menu of Mediterranean food. With Turkish, Greek, Lebanese, French & Italian culinary influences (just to name a few), Bodrum places brick oven pizza next to mezzes, kebabs next to fish, finding a common thread that unifies Mediterranean cuisines.

Excellent food, very friendly service, accommodating. Felt a bit rushed though.

Decent ethnic Mediterranean dishes, good value for the price. Appetizers (mucver and manti) are usually their strongest suit. Had a lamb & eggplant dish (Sultan's delight) that was smokey and delicious; my usual favorite Branzino with pistachio nuts was a tad bland this time, not as flavorful as previously. Rice pudding offered a nice light sweet dessert. Service is not exceptional but brisk and efficient.

Good food. Relatively fast and excellent service. I had the branzino, which was excellent. My husband had lamb sultan, also excellent.

The best Mediterranean food around. The dalma is to die for and the kebabs are amazing.

Service was so fast. They took our salad away before we were done because the main course was ready. Not very polite about it either.

Bodrum consistently provides tasty food and good service at a reasonable price. Their bread is exceptional, as is the stuffed cabbage, the zucchini patties and the lamb tagine. I highly recommend it!

I have eaten at Bodrum before but this time my dining experience left much to be desired. Both the entrée, Branzino with leaks and vegetables, and dessert, baked rice pudding, were totally bland, no taste. They tasted like cardboard. The only good item was the bread and chocolate gelato. Will never go there again.

We come to Bodrum fairly often for the healthy Mediterranean food and low key atmosphere, but we've never been for brunch before. It was great - quiet, with interesting non-hollandaise-laden choices, and a no-rush atmosphere. I can now highly recommend it for brunch as well as dinner.

Delicious food, including excellent thin-crust pizzas, and Turkish-leaning Mediterranean dishes, with attentive waitstaff. A bit noisy due to brick walls and no sound-absorbing material. A very good value. Reservations are faithfully honored.

The food here is so very low mediocre. It’s what I’d expect from a Mediterranean restaurant in a town that has nobody from a Mediterranean country. Not returning.

Good solid Food. We shared a Shepard’s salad that was just right for two. Added the feta for $2.
I ordered the lamb tangine and my friend had lamb sis kebab. Lamb was cooked to order. With a beer and a glass of wine the bill came to $92 with gratuity. A little pricey in my opinion. Service was attentive.

We were surprised how good the food was at Bodrum. I had stuffed cabbage that was excellent. My husband had lamb tangine. We wish we had gone back the next day instead of going to a Chinese restaurant also on the upper west side. There, the noise was deafening and the food not so good.
We’ve travelled in Turkey and this is comparable ; friendly staff.

We had an early dinner before going to the opera so were among the first few patrons. I believe the noise loud when the restarant is full but it wasn't an issue for us. Also the tables are small and close together but again, we didn't feel crowded because the place was fairly empty. The food was wonderful. I can highly recommend the dumplings with lamb filling in a yogurt sauce. My husband ordered lamb shank which was delicious and falling off the bone. A lovely dinner.

I brought a group of 7 friends together to dine before a play. I know that they enjoy Turkish food and took a chance based on location and reviews.
We throughly enjoyed everything we ordered
from the zucchini pancakes to the succulent lamb shank.
Service was wonderful, filling our plates with warm delicious Turkish bread several times.
Looking forward to a return trip.

All of the dishes were very good as was the service. The bread and pizzas are also tasty. Maybe my only complaint is that the wine was so so and pretty expensive for the quality. Great neighborhood restaurant.

I am very flexible when it comes to service. It isn't a consideration in my choice of restaurants and I truly understand how hard it is to work for tips. I cut a wide birth. For the first time ever, I won't return to a restaurant because of it. Ignored is an understatement. Received no bread service, waited 30 minutes or more for a pizza that arrived cold. The good news is we were given a free dessert to compensate (we didn't ask for it) with a bogus reason for the delay. This would have been an acceptable apology if we weren't ignored again afterwards. Couldnt get someone to give us a check. We had to physically stop the server and give her our credit cards without even seeing the bill, telling her we are in a rush. Still it took her 15 minutes to return the cards to sign. I might blame it on being busy, but she seemed to have time to casually talk to tables around us. I have never withheld a tip, and tipped fairly here, but for the first time I considered it.

Terrific Mediterannean mezze, flat breads and tagines with always-friendly service and good prices. As cozy in winter as it is pleasant to eat out of doors on the sidewalk in Summer. Even Amsterdam Ave seems a bit quieter under the influence of this authentic Turkish restaurant.

I eat in this neighborhood fave all the time. Consistently good food and service. But... since the space is so small, the restaurant's getting much more crowded. It's a testament to the food, but makes it harder just to drop in.

Great food and great service. We just got a bunch of appetizers, because we were eating with a friend who is vegetarian. There were plenty of options for her, and we all enjoyed trying a lot of different things. Will return!
