Bodega Negra Ratings and Reviews
I treated my husband to dinner at Bodega Negra on January 1 (which is his birthday). He had a great time and loved the food. Our servers were attentive, the ambiance was nice, and drinks were good too. My only concern was that I thought that Loco Monday would be on on January 1. I had called a couple of days beforehand to find out about Loco Monday and the reservation process. The lady I spoke with was helpful. I wanted to enjoy it with my husband, especially since it was his birthday. We were ready for some fun and music. I was disappointed when nothing happened at 10:30 pm. Other than that, the food and everything else was good.
Attention or service at the restaurant needs improving. Price at to high for the food plus side are sold separately. Place is to expensive for the quality of the food. Drinks are also to expensive your are not able to enjoy a few drinks with friends. Please reconsider looking at the prices.
A group of 5 of us came at 9pm on a Friday for a birthday. We had cocktails, ceviche, tacos, enchiladas, fajitas and desert... everything was average besides the fajitas(very good steak) ... even the famous desert that melts when you pour the sauce inside was cold... isn’t lava cake supposed to be warm?
The main reason I’m writing this review is because we had about 3-4 cocktails each, one round at the bar before being seated. At one point Myself and my friend both ordered the solstice... when the drinks were brought out hers had almost an inch more of liquid in her drinks, I asked the waitress about this and the waitress took I.T back and I swear she brought the same drink out! Are you serious?! The same thing happened later with the mint/berry margarita! The drinks were so inconsistent! At the end of the meal we all finally commented on how weak all the drinks were. This is unacceptable.
I’ve eaten in the more relaxed cafe style area of bodega negra and had the soft shell crab torta(AMAZING) ... I would do this again and order a modelo. NEVER AGAIN WILL I COME TO BODEGA NEGRA.
If you want BELOW average drinks and sub par Mexican... come here... even the scene isn’t as good as I.T used to be.
Was so looking forward to the experience but a little disappointed. First, we had 9:15 reservations and didn't get seated until almost 10:30. Then we had a server who at first seemed to be cool and fun but took our drink order and 15 minutes later still no drinks. Ask the a dual server for our table where the drinks were and she told him yo come over, he actually forgot what we had ordered. Ok then it's my birthday and nothing, under hats being given at other table and was given one after I asked about it. Food was ok, just not for me and I passes on the dessert I was ready to go.
I was late for our reservation because coming from Florida, I took the wrong train. However they were very nice and we were seated within about 15 min. The cocktails were yummy and the yellow tail tune with the mango salsa delicious. The tacos chicken and beef are awesome.
I really enjoyed the food and drinks. I came here for my birthday with my girl and did not regret it. She surprised me at the end with a birthday desert and special attention from the manager. If you like mexican cuisine, this has an upscale flare to common dishes. Not the cheapest, but worth the experience.
We were late and they made us wait over 30 mins however, they gave us a round of drinks. Also after our meal they asked us if we could move to the bar and free the table. They did offer drinks but we left without them. They were apologetic and very nice about it.
My girlfriends and I were here for a late dinner last Saturday night. We loved the decoration and the ambiance. We made reservations but got there 1 hour earlier for drinks. We waited at the bar till our table was ready. There's a DJ and the music selection was perfect! Lots of hip-hop and "can't stop dancing" kinda of songs. The host was very attentive and our table was ready before the reserved time. Table location was great! In one of the corners of the restaurants from where we could see the whole place. We had 2 waiters (the first waiter had to leave after sometime). Both were very solicitous and gave us good food recommendations. Food was delicious! We had a great time here and we recommend this place with no hesitation. Reservation is highly encouraged.
I was so frustrated by management. We waited 45 minutes to be seated. They were NOT sorry, didn't even offer to apologize at all. I wanted to walk out. But had a large party w me for my sister's bday.
Our table was tiny and I couldn't move my legs!
But our server did his best and that was ok.
Would NOT go back.
Hostess desk...really? Not good at all.
