Bodega Negra Ratings and Reviews
We were late and they made us wait over 30 mins however, they gave us a round of drinks. Also after our meal they asked us if we could move to the bar and free the table. They did offer drinks but we left without them. They were apologetic and very nice about it.
My girlfriends and I were here for a late dinner last Saturday night. We loved the decoration and the ambiance. We made reservations but got there 1 hour earlier for drinks. We waited at the bar till our table was ready. There's a DJ and the music selection was perfect! Lots of hip-hop and "can't stop dancing" kinda of songs. The host was very attentive and our table was ready before the reserved time. Table location was great! In one of the corners of the restaurants from where we could see the whole place. We had 2 waiters (the first waiter had to leave after sometime). Both were very solicitous and gave us good food recommendations. Food was delicious! We had a great time here and we recommend this place with no hesitation. Reservation is highly encouraged.
I was so frustrated by management. We waited 45 minutes to be seated. They were NOT sorry, didn't even offer to apologize at all. I wanted to walk out. But had a large party w me for my sister's bday.
Our table was tiny and I couldn't move my legs!
But our server did his best and that was ok.
Would NOT go back.
Hostess desk...really? Not good at all.
The hostess and front of house was friendly but when they found out we mostly just wanted dessert there a change in service quality and they proceeded to try to get us out as quickly as possible. Were it not for this I would say the experience was fantastic.
I have been to this restaurant a few times and I love it. The last time I was there last week though I was disappointed because I had a reservation yet I still had to wait for the table. We had to ask for some tap water as nobody served it. We ordered churros without looking at the menu as we thought they were the classic churros, but nobody told us that they were different ( with ice cream, caramelized bananas and a waffle cone....).
Honestly this time unfortunately it wasn’t a great experience!
Had to wait over 30 mins for the table despite a prior booking, the hostess did not inform us of the delay or cause and had to go ask twice what the problem was. Also once seated was hard to get the attention of the staff to even get a drink. The food was average was not anything special tried a lot of dishes and only truly liked one.. the quesadilla. Lobster tostado and crab taco's were tasteless.
I LOVE this place. The food was fun and innovative there were so many cool fun twists to the menu that I have yet to see at any other Mexican restaurant. They accomadeted out reservations even though we were fairly late. The drinks were strong and tasty as well as the ambiance which I appreciated because it was dimly lit perfect for a night out with my love. We had an amazing time we were on a double date and the other couple also loved the place.
I went to Bodega Negra during Restaurant Week as a friend recommended it. I had a really great experience from the service to the food and ambiance it surpassed my expectations. I would definitely recommend and judge for yourself don't go by others experiences because I almost cancelled when I saw some of the recent post. Also I would recommend this for a nice date night.
Good food, fun ambiance, waiter was super friendly but we had a reservation which we waited a half hour for even though our whole party was on time. Hostess didn't seem to care and told us to wait at the bar. If the table isn't ready the least you could do is offer a drink on the house but it's just not that kind of place.
Bodega Negra is a dimly lit venue with cozy seating. Its split over multiple levels separated by a couple of steps and the dining areas / bar are segregated. This gives it an intimate feel. There is a massive tequila selection as well as otherwise broad drinks list. Service was very impressive and food delicious
