This was our starting point before a concert at the Garden and it was perfect for us. Great food and drinks and the ambiance was a great way to get our night going. The place is beautiful. I didn’t care for the high top table but we made do. One thing that irked me was a few of us ordered another drink but the server added on another round, without asking, and it wasn’t even correct. We were told they would take them off the bill but didn’t even do that right. That being said, I’d definitely give it another try.
Went before Celtics game at around 6 o’clock. It’s dark but quiet, food was decent and drinks were good
Interesting location vibe but food wasn’t great. Lighting was really bad (couldn’t see our food). Staff was nice enough. Price point was ok for what we got.
Noisy and dim lighting. The staff seemed initially startled by having customers but were attentive and kind.
The free taco chips and dips were tasteless. But I had the chicken fajitas and it was very good.
Great vibes! Marg pitcher was perfect for dining with friends and the complementary salsa & chips was a nice touch.
It was extremely dark at our table
Food was great, especially the churros. Service was super slow.
We were seated where we had to walk down a set of stairs. Now I am young and I could barely see because it was so dark. Then we waited 15 minutes for someone to come to our table. We went to the hostess and let her know no one came to our table. The server came by and asked if we wanted chips and salsa for the table and we said yes. Then left the table without taking our order when we were already ready because we looked at the menu for 15 minutes. She finally came back and we put in our drinks and dinner orders. When the food came we had no silverware. We waited but eventually got up to ask for silverware.
There was 4 of us and we all had margaritas. The strawberry one i had had no strawberry flavor, and my boyfriends had no mango flavor. They were also really salty, which I like salt, but I think people should be asked it they wanted salt on their rim because many people don’t.
The food was average, nothing I ate was spectacular.
I’m not sure if this was just an off night and I understand lack of help right now from Covid, but I think our experience could’ve been a little better.
Awful. waitress was so rude trying to rush us through dinner and didn’t give us enough attention
Food was decent but nothing special. Decor was interesting. I wouldn’t go back again.
Best nachos ever! Will definitely be going back.
Poor service and unimpressive food! This is a place for drinks only!
Food is good, service is terrible. We let the hostess know that someone in our party was getting married the next day — we were not looking for free food or drinks. Just wanted someone to acknowledge the special moment and say congratulations! The hostess and the servers were equally unenthusiastic and inattentive throughout the night. When the mother of the bride asked what the frozen drink of the day was (which was plainly advertised on the menu), we were told, “Uhhhhh, I don’t know. We’d have to find the blender and we’re not doing that tonight.” I suspect this place, like many, is struggling to retain quality waitstaff due to Covid. While I empathize, I will not be back — I’d rather spend my money somewhere where we feel appreciated and valued. There was no manager in sight and the hostess didn’t bother to ask us how our experience was on our way out (nor did she so much as look up from her phone to acknowledge us), so I am left with this Opentable review as the only way to express my disappointment. With service like this, I doubt bodega canal will be in business much longer.
The food was decent but the service was terrible. We barely saw our waitress, it was hard to get service
Food and drinks were awesome! Service was good. Busy so understanding why things took little long was definitely understood. Music was on point. Had a great time
Food was great, drinks were incredibly slow
Food was good. We went a bit on the early side of dinner so I think it looks nice all lit up at nighttime. I liked the decor. Good food selection. Would go back
Street corn was the best I’ve ever had. Spicy marg also delicious! Cool vibe
Seated outdoors where there were no heaters and staff apparently forget about you.
When we inquired about moving tables inside, we were informed that even though they appeared 25% occupied, a wait for an indoor table would be minimum hour and a half wait.
Had a round of drinks while making reservations for a different restaurant and then had to hunt down our server to pay. Overall, it appears over rated and not worth the experience.
Overall good. The food was the highlight. Nothing special happens for birthdays I guess. Had better expectations on seating so I recommend when reserving calling to ask for better seats. It gets hot in the second floor.
Great margarita and service. My dinner order was not correct and our waitress got it fixed immediately. Definitely a stop on game or show nights in North Station.
Pretty good food. Slow service and broken bathrooms.
Loud and dark. Curt, but not rude waiter. Mediocre food. No coffee!. Would not return
Service was great, had chips and salsa as soon as we sat down. Server was friendly and quick. Food was excellent, had the short rib tacos.
Live at 1 canal. Would love to like this place. I’ve given it two tries. The food and service just isn’t great.
Love taco tuesday!
Guac and queso were sub-par. The steak tacos however were amazing.
The Taco Tuesday special is worth it! The margaritas are very good. The service was a little slow, but we were enjoying our time together so it wasn’t too much of a hassle
great drinks and food! Always a good time. The nacho fries weren’t the best but everything else is amazing!
There was no air conditioning! Very uncomfortable
The service was the only redeeming quality of the experience. Steak fajitas were basically raw and couldn’t be bitten through, hot Cheetos corn had zero sauce and were gummy/poorly shucked, cauliflower tacos had way too much of the mayo based sauce, gauc was bland (needed spice, lime, salt, something) and queso tasted like it was straight out of a Tostitos jar.
First round of tacos on Tuesday were cold so I had to knock a star off for that but the next round were super warm and fresh. Great weekdays specials and the lounge is a decent club spot with great music!
Overall good experience. It’s loud in there and hot inside. The salad I got was way over dressed.
Great food deals, strong drinks and friendly staff! Would definitely come again
The food and drinks were amazing, the best was the coconut margarita. The DJ played really good music all night so the ambience was great too. I’m definitely coming back.
We live in New Jersey and every single time we come to Boston, Bodega is our first date night spot of the weekend. THE. COCONUT. MARGARITAS. are what keep us coming back alone. Amazing energy, amazing food. 10/10!!
So bad. I will never be coming back. Waitress was horrible
Always a great time!
Awesome Taco Tuesday deals. Nachos were great, could use a little more spice. Overall atmosphere was cool and we will definitely be going back.
the restaurant must have had no AC it was so hot and our waitress forgot about us for half the night we had to change tables and it was still so hot we were sweating
