We unexpectedly decided to go to Bocconcino as we couldn’t get in at another restaurant. And it was such a fantastic choice. We had a wonderful dinner and the food was delicious! We will definitely be going back.

Great find. If you're looking in North Beach for an excellent Italian food, good service and not too loud, this is a perfect choice. The menu is a mixture of traditional items and more creative, and all were good. The grilled vegetables app was tasty, not sure what seasoning they used. For my entree I had a special, polenta gnocchi with sausage and eggplant, also quite good. While many N. Beach restaurants are purposely loud and crowded, this one filled up, but there's comfortable space between tables and the sound isn't bouncing off a metal ceiling.

We were 4 for dinner. All our meals and salads were very tasty- pastas, risotto and salads. The chocolate mascarpone cake was very good as well. Our server was attentive and friendly. The table bussing was efficient but could use some polish. We sat in the 2nd room which doesn’t have as much charm as the main room. The noise level was high. I’d go back but ask to sit in the main room even though it also sounded loud.

Our early diner here was wonderful. The friendly owner and staff made us feel like we were eating in their home. Delicious food, excellent attentive service, and a decent price made the evening special. We appreciated how easy our waiter made it for us to share various dishes. And the warm bread was excellent. We’ll be back. Grazie!

Pasta was good. But didn’t seem house made as 1 site had said. Service was very good. Wine was reasonably priced. Cost compared to portions was way off for apps and severely over priced. The restaurant was 90% empty but they crammed 2 couples and a family into 3 tables very close to each other. Not the vibe we wanted on date night.

Really good food, and warm, friendly service from whom we believe was the owner — an Italian man from Tuscany. Portions for the appetizers were a bit small but the food was generally great to very delicious — the penne bolognese was particularly delicious and better than what is typically a meh dish in a lot of Italian restos. Ambiance was quintessential, quaint North Beach. They also gave us the window seat that we requested when we made the reservation, which made it extra nice!

Wonderful pasta dishes. We enjoyed the quaint atmosphere. It was very loud; at times we could not hear table conversations

The homemade pasta was delicious! Plenty of choice for vegetarians, nice wine selection and our tiramisu was plentiful and exquisite. The servers were the best - very attentive, helpful and kind. I’d definitely go back again.
