   It was a wonderful experience. The waiter was knowledgeable about the items there and at the sister restaurant Bistro Two Eighteen. He also taught me how to go through the menu for all the courses. I got the veal meat balls, short rib pappardelle, egg plant lasagna, and coconut cheesecake. Everything was delicious.

   We had the pleasure of dining @Bocca Restaurant this past week for a graduation celebration for our daughter. We were a party of 9. We drove straight up to the front curb and left our car with the valet, very easy and quick. Our reservations were at 6:30 and we were seated immediately. We were very excited that our table was in the front next to a large window. Very light and airy feel. The service staff @Bocca is the best we have ever had probably in our lifetime of dining out. We had an amazing waiter that had spot on recommendations from drinks to desserts. The time from ordering anything to arrival was very quick but also well timed as we worked our way through drinks, appetizers and then main entree. We started with the Arancini, panzanella salad, beef carpaccio and the caesar salad. All delicious! Oh and the focaccia bread, so good! My daughter and I shared two pasta dishes that were so delicious... The Bucatini and the Garganella with asparagus. Several of our party had the red snapper (which was recommended) and said it was also delicious. The eggplant parmesan and also the braised short ribs were enjoyed by others and again all delicious! We ended the meal with the tiramisu and the donut. Two outstanding desserts! The restaurant brought out complimentary glasses of champagne to make a toast to our graduate. Great way to end our meal and time together. From start to finish we all enjoyed our dining experience @Bocca and would 100% recommend! The staff is phenomenal. They even had our cars waiting out front as it was getting late in the evening and the club next door starts to get crowded. I have seen some negative reviews which at first made we wonder if we were making the right choice. Please do me a favor and don't listen to the negative nellies...this restaurant is our new favorite, and we will return whenever we visit Birmingham, Al again! Thank you to Bocca for giving us such a pleasant experience!

   It was very disappointing. I was so excited to bring my friend there for his birthday. Have had great meals there before. This time not the case. Started off with bread plate on table being dirty. Also we were seated in a far corner up against the wall. Then my apple martini was awful. The server never commented on it and then never asked about it. Then I guess the manager walked by and did not notice or comment either. Usually the sommelier would come by but not tonight. My shrimp scampi was not good either. Luckily my friend enjoyed his dinner. Once again the server did not seem to notice half my food still there, just asked if i wanted a box, no comment about why half food not eaten. Never even got to see about a bday dessert. Service was not up to par like usual either. Then had to wait at least 20 minutes to get the car. BAD, BAD, BAD... Truly shocked because usually terrific and that is why I bring my out of town guests there always. Guess may be time for a new Italian restaurant downtown.

    Very nice experience! Excellent, attentive waitstaff. Food was delicious. This is an upscale, trendy Italian restaurant. Don’t go in expecting old school. However, you will be pleased with what you get in all facets.

    We were traveling through Birmingham on our way to Nashville and we’re looking for some good Italian food. Bocca did not disappoint. They food was amazing and our waiter, Sebastian, was very helpful and attentive.

    The service was professional -just like Italy, smart and smooth -the food was excellent. We had the shrimp, the fish the lobster with handkerchief pasta, the Caesar salad, all excellent. The chef owner came by to check on us, always a nice personal touch.

    Fantastic! Thanks to GM Matt Dunn for a well run & great dining experience. Enjoyed Leanna’s bar services & the Belvedere vodka (my favorite) that magically appeared 🙏❤️ Campbell seated us at a beautiful table #23 with a great view of bar/restaurant/outside & less bright than at window. Graham recommended & served us impeccably & was so gracious; and Angie, water, also. And Chef created the most amazing Caesar salad, pasta with asparagus, pan seared snapper, and tiramisu.     We have always loved Bocca, and my wife and I dine there often. We love the atmosphere, the food, the cocktails, and the service has usually been very good and attentive. We had dinner at Bocca last night with our son, and we were disappointed. All elements of the experience were lacking. We were not at a good table, our cocktails were not as good as usual, and the food was so-so. The server was pleasant enough but inattentive. Cocktails were slow coming from the bar, which may be understandable on a busy night, but even our water glasses went completely empty several times during our meal. After the initial pour of wine from the bottle, we had to pour it ourselves. Overall, we paid $360 including tip for a meal for three which was nothing special. When we come to Bocca, we expect the experience to be special. Usually it is. Last night, not so much.
