First time at Bocca and loved it. The food was excellent and the service great!!
Good food, good service, a tad noisy given the place was fairly full.
Good food. Impeccable service. My partner ordered the wrong entree and they replaced it without question and gave us a complimentary drink. I can’t compliment the whole experience enough. Definitely our goto restaurant in the neighborhood.
Service was amazing- everyone was so kind and hospitable. Food was delicious! They have a seasonal menu and everything we ordered was impeccable. Their bread is served with a side of sundries tomato olive oil and it was so delicious- you can also buy a jar it’s that good! Seating was also comfortable. Sometimes in manhattan restaurants are tight and stuffy but Bocca was casual and comforting. Definitely coming back here- whether a birthday or family dinner to girls night out, Bocca was 10/10. Thank you!
The only negative thing about this restaurant was the service. Our waiter got one of our drink orders wrong - gave us red instead of white. It was clearly his fault as there was nothing in the red wine list that sounded like Sauvignon. But he gave us a look of disgust when he had to take it back. Then he didn’t mention the specials to us - he mentioned the specials to every other table around us. Once he took our orders we didn’t see him again. Bad service but excellent food.
Outstanding neighborhood gem...better and busier than craft next door... fo good reasons!!
Amazing food here. How about 18-hour braised meat sauces (lamb, tomato or duck?). The pastas themselves (might be home-made) but incredibly tasty in themselves. No restaurant leaves their Shrimp and fish dishes so simple, all to the better. The eggplant dishes are a dream come true, the soups, and what is it that they do to salad dressings that makes for much table talk as to why something so mundane (salad dressing??) could taste so delicious? Where you can still taste the greens & other ingredients on their own. Don't want to make this review too long to read, but the desserts, (Tiramisu or the lightest airiest Panna Cotta) and perfection without pretention. Super (and award-winning, or should be) Bartender.. COCKTAILS. Busy bar...I can tell you that. And, over all, supervising and living to make your dinner experience everything you would like (but you won't notice, he's that quiet & great), is Nicolo 'Nico' DeStefano. Amazing host! Go once ... and you will become a regular for sure.
Amazing pasta and wine, we showed up with a mistake on our reservation, forgot to include the kids, oups!!! And they accommodated us with a smile!!
Service and food 👍
Rude waiter who apparently doubled as manager. Expressed frustration that my party didn't order all our apps and entrees at once. And initially refused to reverse improper charges when settling the bill.
The restaurant was a poor experience. After being seated it took 20 min for someone to come and acknowledge the table. When the person did it was a gentleman that just filled waters so we had to ask him to see a waiter. Since we were waiting so long we were able to order drinks apps and dinner at once. We ordered two bottles of wine and once again we had to wait an absurd amount of time. The appetizers came and we had to ask again for our wine. We also asked for more bread multiple times and it never came. Even with this poor experience a tip of 10% was left. Below the standard of a tip but we had a below expectation experience. The waiter then had the audacity to ask multiple people in the party why the tip was so low. To avoid confrontation after a miserable experience we told them that the service was slow. The food was delicious and that is the only reason I’m giving this establishment 2 stars.
In New York you have to eat Italian, and this Italian was excellent. It took a little while to get the attention of the server and the food came out rather quickly almost faster than we would have liked, but it was excellent in flavor and ambience. Once we had the waiters attention he was on point the rest of the evening. Definitely would recommend and go back
This was a very odd experience. The waiter would take one drink order at a time, per person. Each of us had to wait until he returned to then place our request. A glass of wine took quite some time. The food was ok, nothing that will wow you. The bread basket initially was great but then when replenished contained hard stale sliced bread. The cacio y pepe pasta dish was served table side (nice touch) but wasn’t as flavorful as it could have been. The bar area had a smell of, well dank unwashed floor? Unusually good reviews for a restaurant in this neighborhood with poor odd service and ok food. We won’t be back, sad to say..,
Our family of four enjoyed the food and ambiance. Thank you for a terrific evening!
Gem hidden away near the crowded Union Square. Pasta was of excellent homemade quality, and was naturally tasty with depth. Highly recommend.
Greta food and great service, dependably, every time go there.
While the food was delicious, all 6 people our group agreed we would not be returning due to service.
We had Christmas night dinner and it was very good. Slight mixup of one of the orders, but they made it right and gave us a free dessert. Tasty Italian food.
Great food and service in a great atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and attentive without being annoying.
Another wonderful experience at Bocca. Great food, and great setvice
We had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner at Becca. The homemade pasta was outstanding. The service was excellent. The tables are close together but our neighbors on either side were pleasant. We enjoyed our time at Bocca and will return.
Another great Gramercy - Flatiron restaurant. Unique Italian recipes make this a worthwhile destination. One of the best branzinos we ever had. Cool bar and dining room with exceptional service.
The overall experience was lovely and we had a wonderful time. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxed and very comfortable. It was a bit on the loud side by very much expected from the smaller space. The food was beautiful to look at and delicious (especially deserts!)! However, I will say that the portions were quite disappointing. For the price being charged I would expect larger portions.
Fantastic food and wine were delicious... must go
The meal was going fine until the time came for dessert. Our waiter placed four menus on the table and asked if we'd be interested in having something. One of our party frowned; he was undecided. Whereupon the waiter gathered all four menus and left, without bothering to consult the rest of us. In fact, we would have ordered dessert and coffee. We stopped at a nearby pastry shop instead.
Absolutely the best pasta dishes I have ever eaten in my life. Coming from Sicilian family that means a lot. I never had pasta so delicious . The service was fantastic. Everything piping hot beautiful to look at and delicious. I’ll be back very soon. Five stars in my book
We went for the cheese wheel pasta and it was fantastic. From minute one the hostess, manager, bartender and waiter were all as kind and attentive as could be. They were seriously awesome. The service was timely and the food was incredible. The squid ink gnocci dish and the basil gimlet are not to be missed! The whole place was great - even the bathroom was pleasant! 5/5 stars and we will return! Great restaurant to try if you love authentic experiences with your fresh and delightful pasta!
Nice authentic hidden gem! And good lunch menu prices for the area. Very good service too. Never felt rushed and was able to have a long-ish work lunch with a colleague.
Great bang for the buck. Very good food for a very moderate price👍🏼
Every part of your dining experience is exquisitely planned here. From the first aromas of your cocktails to the finish of you digestif. All of the dishes are made perfectly to showcase the incredible flavors of the fresh ingredients. Your taste buds will sing. 12/10 recommend the gnocchi neri, but you may need a few moments of silence to take it in. Everything is exceptional. You cannot make a wrong choice on the menu.
Great little place for dinner. The host and bartender were awesome!
Light was flickering throughout dinner and they could not do anything for this. Also waitress only checked on us 2-3 times throughout when other tables were checked on much more often
Being rushed out a restaurant because “they need the table”, awful experience with the server. No need to rush people out at 11pm when the place is virtually empty. Customer service 101...!!!
Waited 1hr 15 min for our main course. Staff was dismissive when we asked about our food while every table around us dined and never apologize.
Truly an authentic Italian dining experience. Good food with comfortable seating.
Great presentation and creative choices. Outstanding cuisine.
Excellent service, waiter, Kevin, lovely manager, great staff. Food excellent, different, well presented. Great wine.
Went there last minute for Thanksgiving, was so pleasantly surprised!
Be happy to go here again!
Warm and welcoming staff.
Excellent food and wine advice.
Our server Guiseppe absolutely made our experience! My mom, my sister and I split several courses. Guiseppe made excellent recommendations about the order of the dishes and ensured the timing of each dish was perfect. The food was amazing! The exceptional service made the experience truly enjoyable.
This restaurant is always consistent in service, menu and food quality. We especially enjoy the cacio e pepe pasta -- impressive when the whole cheese shell is brought to the table for the final preparation!
Really enjoyed the atmosphere, octopus appetizer was great. Really enjoyed the beet ravioli and cacio e Pepe.
Fantastic meal with a group of 8 - service was outstanding and everyone was thrilled with their meals. Would highly recommend and look forward to dining there again.
