On June 25th, 2007, Alessandro Peluso together with his friends and family, opened the doors of Bocca with a celebration and an evening of food and wine. This Roman restaurant has been bustling with patrons ever since. Our Chef James Corona is excited to offer a roster of creative Roman dishes to New Yorkers. Chef James uses only imported Italian DOP (protected designation of origin) products and is a proud supporter of the Union Square Green Market. Our meals are complimented by an extensive wine list, an elegant and cozy yet casual dining environment, and a friendly and courteous wait staff.

We went for Valentine’s Day. They had a prix fixed menu, limited options per course. The service was very bad. My husband’s appetizer arrived pretty quickly, but mine didn’t arrive until almost 15mins AFTER he finished eating and they had cleared his plate. Our entrees took another 10+ mins after they finally cleared my appetizer plate. Tables that sat after us got their entrees before us. It was very frustrating. Our waiter would disappear for long periods of time.

This place is very good and totally under the radar. Prices are great for the quality and the food is done authenticiy and well conceived. It beats Felida and a lot of other more highly praised Italian restaurants that are over priced disappointments:

Food was good. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is nice. I like the fresh pasta and the gluten free options. Dishes are well made, but lacked a little something extra. I do not think you will be disappointed with the experience.

Attentive service and a nice atmosphere - not quiet but not too lively! The food was very good - eggplant parm for appetizer was delicious, salads very good but a little too lightly dressed. The ravioli with burned butter sauce ..... pasta very nice thin, fresh with a light and delicious filling my only comment is that the burned butter was hardly burned so it tasted like ravioli sitting in too much melted butter. Very good - if the sauce had been better it would have been close to perfect!

Nicole is a wonderful server knowledgeable and attentive.We started with the fantastic Gamberi all’aglio e olio and Mozzarella fatta in casa. For dinner the very spicy Strozzapreti con anduja and Pappardelle al ragÚ di agnello. For dessert the Nutella semifreddo. What a tasty superb dinner it was. Thank you Bocca!

Tried Bocca during restaurant week. Service was great, felt well taken care of. Food was ok, had the pasta with braised lamb shank. It was good but not spectacular, wish it was a little more flavorful and pasta was a bit gummy. I was excited to try since the pasta in that dish is made in house. All in all and good experience, but nothing to make me want to run right back for the food. It is a nice cozy atmosphere, which I appreciated.

This past Saturday was our fourth visit to Bocca, and while consistency may be the hobgoblin of small minds, when speaking of restaurants it is something to be strived for. Bocca consistently hits the mark in the preparation and presentation of its dishes, and the waitstaff is attentive without being fawning. My wife and I shared the baked eggplant appetizer which was delicious. For our entrees, we both went the pasta route; I had the cacio e pepe, and my wife ordered the pappardelle served with a braised lambshank and tomato sauce ragu. We shared the tiramisu for desert. There were no doggie bag leftovers to be taken home for a late night snack or a Sunday morning pre-brunch. I'm already looking forward to going back for our fifth visit.
