Arrived on time
And Restaraunt was CLOSED!!!
Lovely, nearby post-theater dinner late at night. Delicious food, nice wine, very very kind service, clean and nicely decorated spot! Sadly empty due to outbreak :( glad we could patronize. We would definitely return.
Food was very good. It was for pre-theatre. We had a 6:30 reservaction and was not seated until almost 7:00pm. We made our show, but we should not have had to wait that long. I would be nervous to book this restaurant pre-theatre again.
We had to wait a bit to be seated even though we had a reservation. We were getting concerned because they kept seating larger parties and we saw tables disappearing rapidly. The girl at the desk was apologetic, but the host ignored us completely until he was ready to seat us after I said "don't forget about us please". We would have appreciated some acknowledgment from him such as they were waiting for a 2-top to leave, etc. Once seated, we received water and the menu promptly, but waited another 15 minutes until our server came over to take a drink order. We ordered both drinks and food and thereafter, everything went smoothly. The wine was delicious and the entrees fantastic. Recommended highly, but with the caveat that the front desk could do a better job communicating what's happening and when it's a busy night, service might be a bit delayed.
My husband was using the restroom and it was taking A while. So the waiter came over and said if I need anything Else. If I didn’t need anything that I would need to purchase something from the bar or I need to wait for him outside. My bill was already 125.00 without tip. So I don’t think I will be coming back:(
Good was good. Service was very efficient. We weren’t in a rush so a little fast for us.
The food was very good and the prices were reasonable for NYC. We told them we had a show to go to and they got us out in plenty of time.
Great food. Great service. Great cocktails. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, as I had read a few negative reviews before dining. Came here before seeing a show - such an ideal location. Ambience and service was excellent, we all ordered cocktails (Manhattan, Dirty Martini with stuffed olives and a specialty cocktail), wine by the glass with dinner and had the dinner specials (mushroom risotto, pasta special and a salad). Lighting and noise level was great too. Will definitely be back.
The ambiance and decor were excellent. The servers were kind and thoughtful. The food was mediocre for the prices. Very salty. And my branzino looked and tasted like cod fish.
The atmosphere at the bar was relaxing and cool. Would come back for a drink. Not for the food.
Lunch appetizers were fantastic. Added the rice balls from the dinner menu and they were the best ever. Well done!
Nice restaurant with reasonably priced food and nice ambiance. The service was a tad slow, but friendly. We still got to our show on time.
We arrived for a 4:15PM early dinner reservation with four. Our disabled autistic son was with us. I requested of the waiter to please ask the chef since it was so early if he could please make our son a cheeseburger from the lunch menu as he would not have enjoyed most meals of the menu. We weren’t asking for anything he wasn’t making an hour earlier. The answer was a flat “no”. In my opinion the chef or manager who made this call was unreasonable. We’ve asked this many times in many restaurants over the years and this is the first such no we’ve ever gotten. Most places are understanding and accommodating to disabled people. There are plenty of other “disability friendly” dining options in the area. Obviously you don’t need our business!
Our brunch was delicious as always! I love the extensive menu and I loved my dish, which was spaghetti with spicy sauce and seafood! And plenty of choices for my vegetarian friend! And... there is not only a regular bellini but a mango one! The spoon biscuits with special jam which is set down before the meal was a lovely touch. The service is very attentive and friendly; there was a mistake in my friend's order and the waiter not only whisked it away and went to provide the correct one, he gave her a bellini on the house.!I have worked in the restaurant biz for years and this was a class act- something that is missing in even more elaborate and pricey restaurants. And that's how you form long lasting relationships with your guests! I constantly recommend this place!
Very loud and crowded. Food was delicious, but I was very disappointed in the bread. The crust looked good, but was hard to chew, so that set the tone for the meal. I expected great Italian bread and it was meh.
Pre theater dinner with friends—everyone thought their food was delicious. I had the blackened tuna with vegetables and all I can say is wow. I left an absolutely clean plate.
The tortellini was outstanding. Service was quick and got us out the door in time for our show.
An excellent omelette, a terrific steak sandwich. What more could you want for brunch in Manhattan. Oh, and very good coffee. Lovely service in a pleasant atmosphere. Very accommodating! Fair pricing for lunch/brunch..., pricey at dinner.
It was a very tasty dinner. The staff was very attentive. The meal was great tasting. The pace that food was brought to us was very good. We got to enjoy each course, and never felt rushed.
Great pre theater spot or after if you like. Excellent menu selections with attentive service.
Food was good, but the service was a little spotty and the value seemed high for the service
Lights were way too bright to enjoy dinner. Need to dim for night
Comida aceptable, agradable sin ser extraordinaria, nivel de ruido horrible y para colmo música alta de fondo. Quizá fue un mal día, pero no muy contentos
tables are very tight but this is NY. Would go back again. definitely worth a try!
Third time there and never disappointed. The atmosphere, service and food are terrific. We brought friends the last time and they loved it too. The lamb chops, fettucine bolognese, and the short ribs are outstanding. And the bruschetta they bring to the table with the bread you could eat with a spoon!
Delicious food & outstanding service! We highly recommend this restaurant
Excellent service and very good food.
probably not recommend the restaurant. The food was good and the service was also good. But the noise level was more than energetic it was almost intolerable. Shouting at a dining companion or hear theirs responses is a pleasurable experience. Will give them one more chance and after that they may be off my list for good
Remains our prime go-to place in the Theater District. The food is always very good, and we are finished well in time to get to the theater. The pasta dishes are very reasonably priced.
Pre-theater dinner. I have been here a few times before and had a better experience. This time we sat down waited a while to order and then had drinks, appetizers and main course served in less than 20 minutes. Pre-theater doesn’t need to be quite that fast and generally I like to finish my appetizer before crowding the table with main courses to let them get cold.
While the food was worth the trip, sadly the service wasn't. We ordered salads to be shared and they cam out on one plate for us to get onto salad plates with just our flatware. Then was had to use the same, old flatware for the entree. And then there was the up sale for the fish special. Also, not sure why there was music and loud, as the din of the conversation made talking impossible. Can't say if I would return as there are numerous Italian restaurants for the same prices, but with better service.
Solid pre-theater choice (though no pre-theater menu.) Tasty appetizers, generous portions. The wait person was knowledgeable about by the glass wine choices.
The Profiteroles are outstanding
Issues: the Branzino was not fresh. The grilled tuna was fresh and tasty but too salty. i would be wary of the fish here.
Open Table did not fail me again. Boca was excellent from the moment we stepped through the door to the profiteroles!! The calamari was crunchy and soft at the same time with zucchini and basil fried in. The pasta seafood special was fresh and flavorful not over sauced, but the lobster was nonexistent...the steak frites with arugula salad was plentiful and juicy. We ate at the bar and the bartender was fabulous, maybe the best Belvedere martini in the city!!We highly recommended Bocca di Bacco
Enjoyed a wonderful evening with delicious cocktails and dinner. Perfect restaurant when seeing a show in NYC
Pre-Theatre dining... food was lovely and timing was perfect! Easy walk to the theatre afterwards.
Great service, the waiters were attentive. The was ample and flavorful.
Daughter wanted Italian for her 10th birthday. Wanted a relaxed atmosphere and good food and they delivered!
This was definitely a place I would come back to next time we're in NYC. The food was spectacular, the service was great! We started with the cheese board, I'm a total sucker for anything fig, then I had the Lamb Ragu as my main course my Fiance went with a steak which was mindblowingly good!
Food was amazing
Good food and lovely atmosphere. I came here specifically because a pervious review said there was gluten free pasta available but was disappointed to find this wasn't the case. Otherwise, the rest of the experience was wonderful.
