Bocca Di Bacco (Theatre District - 45th St.) Ratings and Reviews
I started with the burrata special appetizer which was delicious and beautifully composed with texture and color. I really enjoyed the energy of the space. Our table shared several dishes. The braised lamb shank and Brussels sprout side dish were particularly delicious. The service was attentive but not over bearing. I will definitely return!
I always loved this place-- would meet here with a business friend for drinks and light snacks. But now, even though I made a reservation for a table at the bar, they wouldn't honor it. There was no one using ANY bar table, but they made us have our drinks at the bar. And @$15 per drink, just feels like a ripoff.
Prices are 60% higher at the restaurant than on the online menu on OpenTable. ie. eggs benedict is $16 not $10. Service, follow up was non-existent. Waiters were more concerned about the 30 families having a private party that started after we arrived. I think they could have told us in advance so we could've opted to stay or go. My eggs benedict eggs and sauce were cold & muffin burned, home fries were cold, salad mushy. Needless to say we won't go back.
We loved the delicious food and the high energy of this restaurant. I had the Penne with Gorgonzola which was VERY flavorful. My wife enjoyed her Caesar Salad with Chicken. Notable is the excellent wine list with a wide selection available by the glass. I had a Super Tuscan red that was much better than wines at other restaurant by the glass. Service was fast, though the crowds at the bar made it difficult for the waiters to pass through easily making it sometimes difficult for them to attend to us at a front table.
My reservation on open table was for 8:30, we didn’t get seated till about 9:40. Kept on asking the hostess what was going on but she wound not give me an answer. Asked for the manager, after we talked he sat us down in five minutes. The food was good the atmosphere is nice. Great location if you’re catching a show.
I cancelled eservation online through open table as well as by calling the restauant. I was very considerate of the busy day and wanted to be sure i did my due diligence. I am surprised this survey has come to me Since i had cancelled. I couldnt sumit survey without cking things off. There is no n/a option.
This was the first time I used Open Table that when I arrived there was not a table ready for me. I was told there would be a 15 or 20 minute wait. After a half an hour and still no table , a space opened up at the bar and we ate there. The food and wait service were very good, but I was very disappointed that the hostess was not the least bit apologetic that a table was not available for us.
WE WERE SEATED PROMPTLY. HOWEVER, AT A ROUND TABLE AT THE END OF THE VERY BUSY BAR SURROUNDED BY CONSTANT MOVEMENT, WAITERS, BUS BOYS AND PEOPLE BUMPING INTO US. AT ONE POINT THERE WERE PEOPLE LITERALLY HANGING OVER OUR TABLE. NOT HAPPY ABOUT OUR SEATING. SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT AND THE FOOD OUTSTANDING! WE WERE NOT RUSHED AND THERE WAS SUFFICIENT TIME BETWEEN COURSES.
Went for pre-theater dinner. Very good location. Service was very attentive throughout the meal. Had the eggplant appetizer that was delicious! Then had the fusilli in Vodka sauce with italian sausage ground up with rosemary. It was excellent! For the main course I had the Monkfish and enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately I was full and did not have room for dessert which was a shame as there were lots of great options. I'll go back again and recommend it for anyone looking for Italian food for pre-theater.
