Food and service were both excellent. The space is quite small and it was packed and fairly loud.
Simply a feast! Excellent food and wine! A most if you go to the “big apple”! It’s a treat of the best! Enjoy!!!
Really enjoyed the dining experience at Bocca di Bacco (Hell's Kitchen). The wait staff were excellent with knowledge of the menu, explanations of food and drink, and attentiveness. Portions were of good size and importantly, not too much. I was with a group of five college students and we had the table in the front space near the window. They really enjoyed the meal and atmosphere of the interior. Like most contemporary restaurants, the interior of Bocca di Bacco has exposed brick and reflective surfaces so it can be somewhat noisy. Our table was secluded a bit so we could hear well. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to friends. The price point is typical for a quality dining experience in New York.
My husband and I visited on a Saturday at 5:30pm and the service felt very rushed. Not a deal breaker given we were going to the theater after dinner. My issue was my Chilean Sea Bass, it smelled and tasted fishy. Chilean Sea Bass should not have a pungent fish smell or taste. My husband had the Branzino which smelled and tasted fine. The ambiance was nice but given my experience I wouldn't go back.
Had 16 people for birthday dinner. Staff was great, food was awesome. We loved the burata and meat platter, mussels, Caesar salad oh and the red snapper livernase along with all the pastas were phenomenal. They didn’t rush us and kept us on pace to make the play at 8pm. We had dinner reservations for 515 left at 730. Awesome time was had by all 16.
Lovely neighborhood gem. Superb food, attentive staff, very nice wine list. You won't be disappointed. Great place to have dinner with friends or cozy table for the two of you.
I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 5 years. This last visit was a big disappointment. Risotto had no flavor, was not al dente and seems like there was not Arborio rice in the kitchen. For the price they should make an effort in not screwing up with the food. Service was alright. Limoncello could have been on the house though.🙄
Great experience on New Year’s Eve!
We've been here before, but not recently and not with such a big group (10). BdiB was very accommodating from the reservation process to the end of the meal. Because it was New Year's Eve, we weren't all able to arrive at the same time. Nonetheless, we were seated and looked after even though the party wasn't complete. Service was attentive, prompt and polite. Wine was excellent value for money. Food was delicious and served promptly. We had a birthday in the group and the staff made it a complete surprise. Excellent experience all the way around!
Very good food, excellent service. A wide ranging menu to choose from.
Service was excellent but the food was only mediocre with a slightly pricey menu for such. Good in a pinch, but definitely not becoming my neighborhood go-to.
First time at Bocca di Bacco. Scott, our server was both helpful and charming. We definitely will be back!!
Yes excellent service and food during the busy Christmas Holiday week.
We went weekend after Christmas, so it was pretty busy. Food was outstanding - lamb Ragu is rich and delicious.
Food is excellent as well as service. The only negative is that the tables are too closed together and on a busy night the restaurant is very noisy!!
Great food and good service!
Located on 9th Ave. between 54th and 55th, this was a nice and unassuming Italian eatery. Bocca has a long and narrow interior which might explain some of the "crowded" comments. I found it charming and never felt like anyone was right on top of me. I didn't think it was tight - I thought it was cozy! The lighting is dark which could cause you to pull your cell phone flashlight out, but the low light levels adds to the elegant ambiance despite the casual dress and atmosphere. The noise level was tolerable. Not too loud and not too quiet. The menu was a perfect size. It wasn't overwhelming and if you don't read Italian, the descriptions were "spot-on." Plenty of bottled wines and wines by the glass. Our meals were perfect portion size. We had the spaghetti bolognese, seafood fettuccine and strip steak (cooked and seasoned perfectly at medium rare). We enjoyed sharing. The warm chocolate cake and the tiramisu were nice finishing touches (as was my cappuccino). For a party of three with appetizers, a couple glasses of wine, entrees, dessert and cappuccino, the total bill was less than $200.00. I was very pleased! And for those of you with kids over 7-8, it was a perfectly family friendly. As for service - never a problem!! I never felt rushed, and they were highly attentive. A great location slightly off the beaten path - a very nice walk!! I can easily see this as my "go-to" spot for a casual but quality tasting Italian restaurant. Enjoy!
Really like this place, have been here several times. Very friendly service, nice atmosphere. Everything is tasty-fish, pasta, appetizers.
Delightful restaurant north of hell's kitchen on 9th. Easy walk from columbus circle. Great service, friendly, accommodating and informative. Servers and staff mostly speak Italian. Ambiance is very nice and comfortable - not too loud, nice decor, reasonable space b/w tables. Menu is interesting with lots of diverse options. Entrees were tasty. My ink pasta was awesome. My wife's fettuccine bolognese was perfect. Gnocchi was excellent as was the special seafood risotto with lobster and shrimp. I'll continue to go back!
Wonderful food and service. Octopus appetizer was delicious. We had steak and fish dishes and enjoyed all of them. Friendly and prompt service.
Food and service were both amazing! We came for Christmas Eve and had a fantastic dinner!
We had a wonderful brunch with starters, entrees, dessert and lots of mimosas! The server was extremely professional and food and drinks were excellent. The ambiance and location were perfect. We look forward to returning in the new year.
Trrrific food and service. A bit loud.
Aside from feeling crammed into our table, once we got over that everything fell into place. Rustic Italian feel with entrees to die for. The wine list is pretty impressive too. A bit noisy, but once the pre theater crowd left, it was much more manageable. Definitely choose this restaurant over the cookie cutter joints near Times Square!
Great pre-theater dinner away from the Times Square madness. We loved the vibe, the food and the service. We will definitely return !
The dinner special of risotto with osso bucca was rich and flavorful as were the flatbreads with mushrooms and tomatoes. The wines by the glass were especially nice, we had Barbaresco from the Enomatic wine dispenser. It was a really tasty dinner.
Our very first time here… An absolutely beautiful restaurant with phenomenal food, endless amount of selections & awesome service !!! Can’t wait to return & try out some other yummy entrées & desserts.
This is a nice gem in Hell's Kitchen. I met some friends for lunch and we had a great time. We had the "Cavatelli Di Grano Arso, and it was outstanding! My friend had the roasted chicken and she said it was very good. I saw a few Salmon and Brazino plates come out of the kitchen and those plates looked delicious. Can't wait to go back.
Prompt personal service. Early dinner so quiet around us. Great location. Food quite good.
We loved this place! Great ambiance. Delicious food. Scott our waiter was a doll! The hostess was super accommodating when my guest list kept changing. Will def be back
Just took forever to be sat or even acknowledged upon arrival for my reservation
The food was very good, but the place was over crowded. Our table was right beside the walking path for the servers, we had to constantly watch to make sure or drinks didn’t get knocked over.
Absolutely wonderful find. The food, wine, and atmosphere were superb. Highly reccomend.
The food and service was good overall but the salad for $18 consisted of arugula, one slice of tomato and a small piece of feta cheese. That was a complete waste of money considering the very good bolognese main dish was almost the same price at $20. The noise level was very high but the atmosphere is still very homey.
Just one of my favorite spots. Great food. Great vibe...!
A nice little find. Close yet far enough away from the madness of times square in a residential part of Hells' Kitchen. Food was great, service was outstanding. Our table was not in the best location, right next to the front door but, the restaurant was full so it was the best they could do. Recommend the eggplant appetizers and all of the pastas we had were fresh and delicious. I nice wine list, like the dinning room it was small but, had some great Tuscan choices.
I was looking with trepidation for a restaurant in Hell's Kitchen to bring some visiting family members because we had a large party. The restaurant staff made us feel like family, and we had a great meal with great food (consistent with my other experiences here). Service was prompt but not rushed. I also really appreciated that the kitchen made a kid-sized portion of a slightly-tweaked pasta dish for one of the young children in my party. We had a great dinner and I was so appreciative of the fact that the restaurant took such good care of us. I will definitely return.
Hands down best gnocchi I have ever tasted. Out waiter was so nice and very attentive (but not annoyingly so). Prices were decent for the amount of food and the quality of food. Would DEFINITELY recommend.
I have been to the Theater District Bocca di Bacco, this time we chose Hell's Kitchen.
The food was good and the service was excellent. All our dishes were prepared as ordered and tasty. The only negative is that it our meals could have been service hotter.
I would not return to this location, since the noise level was extremely loud and in addition that this establishment blasted music which was not enjoyable.
