Great experience with wonderful food and service. I was pleased that nobody rushed us out after our meeting ran over. Will definitely be back!
One of our favorite restaurants when we're in Manhattan. Noise from customers is one thing, but the loud heavy pounding bass of the sound tracks that were played was very annoying. Hard to carry on a conversation with my wife. That is the only criticism I have of this visit. Will return, and hope the background music is less intrusive next time. Maybe I'll risk being an old PITA and ask for quieter music if it's not.
This is our go to Italian restaurant in the neighborhood. We were very disappointed when the barely full restaurant wouldn’t seat us right away. We ended up sitting at the bar instead. The bartender was very friendly but overwhelmed. The ice maker was broken, there doesn’t seem to be a bar back or any system in place. The food runners had no idea who was getting what. It wasn’t the best experience. The food was good but the service isn’t usually great.
Consistently great meals and service at this location. Dining around 7:30 - 8 and avoiding theater crowd is perfect time
The rib-eye for two was outstanding. Really nice and approachable Italian Wine list.
IT WILL NOT BE MY FIRST CHOICE TO RECOMMEND FOR AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT.
We are regulars. The food is delicious and the staff are wonderful! Consistently good food.
Very crowded pre-theater but staff was very nice. Lots of big tables so a bit crowded at the tables for 2.
Steak was really good, bolognese sauce watery and not so good. But really liked the restaurant so we will be back.
We were a party of 7 at 4:30 pm on Saturday. Appetizers: calamari was as expected, the rest were fair: three large shrimp on a sea of beans, foccacio mushroom bread, quail legs. Mains: pasta dishes, lamb chops brought no complaints, ceasar salad: a thinly square sheet of cheese adorned with two anchovies atop dressed romaine. Desserts: tried them, all were okay but on the small side. From the minute we sat down, we were rushed to order, eat, and leave for the 6:00 pre-theater crowd. Noisy place, to boot. Never going back.
Excellent service in a vibrant atmosphere. Fair prices, especially for the area. The tables were close together, but it’s New York and it’s Italian. So instead of being in feeling crowded, it was comfortable.
Great local spot with good service and delicious food!!
There were 10 people in our party and we all had the most phenomenal meal at Bocca di Bacco. Highlights are the Garganelli Ossobuco and Pollo al Rosmario. Such an amazing food with rustic intimate environment. We’ll be back!
My friend and I went for brunch on a Sunday, and the food was fantastic. I recommend the Eggs Benedict. The $25 bottle of champagne was a great deal as well. Our server was Scott; he was charming and incredibly attentive. There was a DJ, but the venue was not so loud that my friend and I could not hear each other. It is the perfect brunch spot in Hell’s Kitchen!
Great meal in an exciting neighborhood restaurant. Place was packed but service was great. Food was awesome and promptly. A great night out in New York.
To close to the front door,,,,,cold when it opened, NOT GOOD!!!
Food very nice have eaten there several times..
Next time will ask for a table away from front door...
We had a wonderful time as we usually do here
Loved this restaurant! Fabulous food (specials of the day were amazing), service and ambiance. We will definitely visit again.
Service is always great, kitchen always executes
This was a return visit after discovering this place a year ago. Food was superb as was our service. We brought friends with us from out of town and all were very happy with the meal and esxperience
Very pleasant evening and good food. We went at 10 pm, post theater, and it was still hopping, so we didn't feel like we had to rush. It started out a little bad, we both had the Blackberry Spritz cocktail which was startlingly tasteless and seemed alcohol free. But then DH had the crab cakes and I had the pear salad for appetizers (I won but he was happy) and both had the lamb ragu for our entree (both won, it was delicious.) The wine list had some well priced bottles on the "by the glass" list and we found something really good for a reasonable price. Desert was profiteroles and apple tart and we both liked our own best. Waiter was charming and helpful. A little bit noisy, but not too bad. Overall, a good time!
Great Food, great service, great look
I had my birthday celebration here and it was a wonderful choice. My table was as requested, the service was superb as was the food and wine. We shared salads and appetizers, and then each ordered our entrees. The waiters presented my birthday cake and served it up to all of us. Nothing was left over at all. All of my guests had a fabulous time and enjoyed the restaurant. I recommend it and cant wait to go back so I can try another dish!
Great local hangout and restaurant. Tends to get a little noisy but good food and wonderful service.
Really great restaurant a keeper - food was awesome very well cooked and great service. Drinks were reasonably priced as well!
Very good food. Too noisy for dates...
Wine choice was excellent and the food was way above my expectations and very reasonably priced. Octupus was one of the best I ever had.
Love the branzino. Service great. The music is way too loud and inappropriately matched to the great food and warm ambience.
I have been to this restaurant several times and am disappointed to say, it was disappointing this time. I brought my parents, and we chose the Hell's Kitchen location, in an effort to avoid the theater rush at the 44th street location. In my reservation, I had asked not to be seated in the middle of the dining room, and that's exactly where the hostess was heading; I saw a table against the wall and asked if we could have that - she seemed a bit put out, but accommodated us. The food came out quickly and was generous. The squid ink past speciala was excellent, as was the menu's gnocci. The special osso bucco, however, was a bit tough and chewy - not braised long enough. the calamari was under-crisped though tender, and the eggplant app was mediocre. The clearing of the tables was aggressive - even before the whole table was finished eating and without asking if people were finished.; it was clear they wanted to turn the table over. My biggest complaint is the noise level. They were playing untz untz untz dance / club music at an aggressively high volume, for no clear reason. It was 6pm and there was of course no dancing. I was very upset about this, as I read reviews and carefully chose a restaurant with an "average" noise level but this was excessive. At one point, to make my point, I literally yelled across the table to my father and it was not out of line - no one at the neighboring tables even heard it. Completely unnecessary to have the music that loud, and such frenetic music. All of that said, our waiter, Scott, was absolutely fantastic - flawless, lovely, sympathetic to the concern I had, and very responsive to every request. Thankful to him! Sorry I couldn't give a better review - it was a disappointing end to a full day, as we couldn't all five talk to each other, ending up in one-on-one conversations by necessity. The next time we'll go to Kashkaval Gardens, which was much more on par with the kind of night we were looking for.
It is must in Manhattan, it never disappoints you.
Octopus is delicious. Big and very good wine list.
Waiter: are you ready for dessert?
Us: since the very first minute we walk in. A tiramisu please 😃
Great food in a fab, bustling atmosphere. Good cocktails. Staff friendly and attentive - just the right balance. Definitely worth a visit. Nice walking up Hell’s Kitchen seeing the buzz. Coming from the UK New York is expensive in comparison however this restaurant is well priced in New York terms. Would go again if we go back to NYC.
Great service, great food. WAY TOO LOUD! Salads are great and fresh and calamari is light.
Ordinary beef carpaccio and onion soup. Unremarkable but pleasant atmosphere.
I can't write enough superlatives for Bocca di Bacco, (54th St.).
The food was great. The menu was interesting with so many good choices. The service was first rate.
The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. We arrived early and they went out of their way to
accommodate us. I will definitely return.
Wonderful service, great food.
Scott was excellent & kept up with our noise & order. Everything was tasty & right portion size
This is the second time I have been here, but definitely not the last. Everything about this place is great! I wish it was in my neighborhood so I could go all the time.
Lindo lugar, buena comida. Muy recomendable
Nice place, food very good, Very loud! Waiter seemed a bit too good for us...but the food made it worth it.
Food was fresh and tasty. Wait staff was very nice and helpful.
Food is acceptable, prices a bit high but not unreasonable, I just had back luck with a very distracted bartender. Being alone, I was seated at the bar which resulted way too noise for having an enjoyable dinner.
