LOVED THIS PLACE! Great food and service.
One of the best Valentine’s Day meals I’ve ever had. Special Valentine’s Day menu was incredible- wasn’t just a small selection of their normal menu or lower quality options compared to their normal menu like I’ve experienced in the past at other restaurants. Their special menu for the day was filled with different, delicious options that included high-quality proteins (e.g. filet mignon, lobster tail, and octopus). The portions were generous, the food was fresh, and everything was cooked to perfection. Not to mention, the 3-course meal was reasonably priced!
The service was also incredible - although it was insanely busy, they never missed a step!
I’ve always been a fan of this restaurant and have dined there multiple times, but yesterday’s meal/service truly impressed me - above and beyond my expectations! Thank you!
Really great find. Relaxed but excellent food. Plenty of space and not expensive. Great afternoon hang out.
Excellent food and service. A fantastic dining experience
Food was delicious; service was attentive but not overbearing and gave us space needed to talk with old friends. Good choice near theaters
Being a NYC tourist from TX, And a second time visitor to Bocco, we were not disappointed! Lively, welcoming and great food. So many neighborhood folks made us feel welcome. Maybe next time il wear my cowboy hat!
Had a friend/former colleague visiting from Germany and we came in for pre-theatre dinner. The food was excellent as always and our waiter was quirky, funny and charming giving us a few rounds of a smoothie shot after dinner. The only issue at that location is the noise level, which is quite high at 6:30 p.m. on a Saturday.
Atmosphere and service were excellent. Food was very good as well. Delicious shot was offered at end of meal, pleasant surprise. Only thing that could be improved is the amount of seafood in the linguini special; it was mostly pasta with literally 5 small pieces of calamari & 4 teeny bites of lobster. Server also said shrimp would be included, there were none at all, so that was disappointing.
What a treat. We got 6 dishes and all were excellent. The waiter was just right -- interested, knowledgeable, and non-intrusive. We'll be back.
Service was too pushy to order the food, after that we didn’t see the waiter for a long time, when we wanted to ask for something else.
I found the food to be very middle of the road in terms of quality. Nothing memorable but nothing extraordinary. Service is attentive.
We love the interior decor and ambience, and the wine list was solid. Two minor issues with our dishes - my fiancée’s pasta was overcooked and the texture was too soft/saggy, and my monk fish dish good texture but you could still taste the fish was not that fresh as it was hidden behind heavy seasoning.
For the price - it’s a decent neighborhood restaurant, but not recommended for foodies.
The dishes we ordered were nicely plated and food was prepared deliciously. I specially liked the squid ink pasta which was flavorful and blended nicely with the tomato sauce. I will definitely return to this restaurant soon.
We were there for restaurant week. Food was ok. I would give it another chance but only for restaurant week. We’ve been to better restaurants for the same price point. The food needed more seasoning and flavor.
Go for the bottomless boozy brunch, stay for the pasta! MAGNIFICO!!!
Excellent value. Great food from all courses. Bread was delicious as well. Service was good every table was full entire time ww were there.
Been there before. Always a great experience.
Booked a last minute reservation for 17 people (9 adults, 8 kids) on a Sunday evening - restaurant staff couldn’t have been more accommodating.
We were able to order half sized plates for the kids, who had their own table. Wait staff went above and beyond to create dishes that we were in search of.
Will definitely recommend to others and will visit next time we are in the city
Food and service were both excellent. The space is quite small and it was packed and fairly loud.
This was our second visit and we were not disappointed, ambiance, service and the food was excellent and made it perfect for the date with my wife
Simply a feast! Excellent food and wine! A most if you go to the “big apple”! It’s a treat of the best! Enjoy!!!
Really enjoyed the dining experience at Bocca di Bacco (Hell's Kitchen). The wait staff were excellent with knowledge of the menu, explanations of food and drink, and attentiveness. Portions were of good size and importantly, not too much. I was with a group of five college students and we had the table in the front space near the window. They really enjoyed the meal and atmosphere of the interior. Like most contemporary restaurants, the interior of Bocca di Bacco has exposed brick and reflective surfaces so it can be somewhat noisy. Our table was secluded a bit so we could hear well. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to friends. The price point is typical for a quality dining experience in New York.
My husband and I visited on a Saturday at 5:30pm and the service felt very rushed. Not a deal breaker given we were going to the theater after dinner. My issue was my Chilean Sea Bass, it smelled and tasted fishy. Chilean Sea Bass should not have a pungent fish smell or taste. My husband had the Branzino which smelled and tasted fine. The ambiance was nice but given my experience I wouldn't go back.
Had 16 people for birthday dinner. Staff was great, food was awesome. We loved the burata and meat platter, mussels, Caesar salad oh and the red snapper livernase along with all the pastas were phenomenal. They didn’t rush us and kept us on pace to make the play at 8pm. We had dinner reservations for 515 left at 730. Awesome time was had by all 16.
It’s our go to restaurant in the City for the quality of food, friendly environment and our favorite waiter Scott! He is simply amazing & the food/portions are filling. Their wine menu is a little over priced but won’t stop us from going back!
Lovely neighborhood gem. Superb food, attentive staff, very nice wine list. You won't be disappointed. Great place to have dinner with friends or cozy table for the two of you.
I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 5 years. This last visit was a big disappointment. Risotto had no flavor, was not al dente and seems like there was not Arborio rice in the kitchen. For the price they should make an effort in not screwing up with the food. Service was alright. Limoncello could have been on the house though.🙄
Great experience on New Year’s Eve!
We've been here before, but not recently and not with such a big group (10). BdiB was very accommodating from the reservation process to the end of the meal. Because it was New Year's Eve, we weren't all able to arrive at the same time. Nonetheless, we were seated and looked after even though the party wasn't complete. Service was attentive, prompt and polite. Wine was excellent value for money. Food was delicious and served promptly. We had a birthday in the group and the staff made it a complete surprise. Excellent experience all the way around!
Very good food, excellent service. A wide ranging menu to choose from.
Service was excellent but the food was only mediocre with a slightly pricey menu for such. Good in a pinch, but definitely not becoming my neighborhood go-to.
First time at Bocca di Bacco. Scott, our server was both helpful and charming. We definitely will be back!!
Yes excellent service and food during the busy Christmas Holiday week.
We went weekend after Christmas, so it was pretty busy. Food was outstanding - lamb Ragu is rich and delicious.
Food is excellent as well as service. The only negative is that the tables are too closed together and on a busy night the restaurant is very noisy!!
Great food and good service!
Located on 9th Ave. between 54th and 55th, this was a nice and unassuming Italian eatery. Bocca has a long and narrow interior which might explain some of the "crowded" comments. I found it charming and never felt like anyone was right on top of me. I didn't think it was tight - I thought it was cozy! The lighting is dark which could cause you to pull your cell phone flashlight out, but the low light levels adds to the elegant ambiance despite the casual dress and atmosphere. The noise level was tolerable. Not too loud and not too quiet. The menu was a perfect size. It wasn't overwhelming and if you don't read Italian, the descriptions were "spot-on." Plenty of bottled wines and wines by the glass. Our meals were perfect portion size. We had the spaghetti bolognese, seafood fettuccine and strip steak (cooked and seasoned perfectly at medium rare). We enjoyed sharing. The warm chocolate cake and the tiramisu were nice finishing touches (as was my cappuccino). For a party of three with appetizers, a couple glasses of wine, entrees, dessert and cappuccino, the total bill was less than $200.00. I was very pleased! And for those of you with kids over 7-8, it was a perfectly family friendly. As for service - never a problem!! I never felt rushed, and they were highly attentive. A great location slightly off the beaten path - a very nice walk!! I can easily see this as my "go-to" spot for a casual but quality tasting Italian restaurant. Enjoy!
