Bocca di Bacco (Hell's Kitchen - 54th St.) Ratings and Reviews
Great Food and good service. We had a party of 8 and enjoyed the meal, except that the only table for 8 is right near the entrance door and it was a cold night so a few of us had to keep our coats on the eat, as every time a group came in we got a cold blast of air.
Everyone in our party got severe GI issues within hours after eating here. We are thinking it is Norovirus from the Calamari, as that is the only thing we all ate. I had the squid ink pasta. It was good, just very salty and fishy tasting. The Ribeye was good, cooked to perfection and a large portion. The pasta with sausage was also very good. We had two desserts. Chocolate cake and creme brûlée. Both were very good.
Always a great option. Just be aware, when the place is packed they will cram everyone in at once and separate tables of four into two and may get stuck sitting 1 feet away from your neighbor, which may be uncomfortable and may create tight spaces where people could bump into you as you are eating. That gets annoying.
We arrived a few minutes early for our 8 pm reservation. The place was packed. We took that as a good sign! Unfortunately it took until after 8:30 to get our table. I was shocked to see how many people were upset that they were not shown in exactly at the appointed time.
When we got started, food was delish. Had the octopus and Caprese salad as appetizers, followed with Sea Bass and a steak. WOW. Everything we wanted in a local NYC dining experience. If I lived here, this would be a serious go to spot for every occasion.
Excellent find in Hell's Kitchen. Went here with 10 people after a day of Christmas sightseeing in midtown. Nice spot. Busy, boisterous but food was great and wine was excellent. Service very good. Space is tight so plan to be seated close to other people but atmosphere is fun!
