Pleasant and attractive restaurant. Food fresh and prepared well. Large and interesting menu. Very generous portions and therefore very fair value. We had excellent service once we were seated (the hostess was grumpy). Would gladly return.
Lovely restaurant! We come back every year for birthday celebration with a large group. Such a wonderful time—good food, nice ambiance, wonderful staff! Thank you for a delightful time!
Always a pleasant stop for brunch before going onto a show... wines are a little pricey for the value but plates are very enjoyable. Great background music.
Delicious and reasonably priced Prix Fixe Lunch. Highly recommend this place. Insalata Mista salad with apples very tasty and salmon over spinach cooked just right!
Delicious food and plenty of space for our big group.
This was our first visit to Bocca Di Bacco...we enjoyed it very much and look forward to another visit.
We have always had great meals and the best service!
Enjoyable neighborhood place. Good food and not overpriced for the quality. Will be back
Service was great but the food was not so great. Below average.
Food was wonderful; service was abysmal. Our waiter was mostly absent, and when tracked down, minimally engaging. We usually had to seek him out. The host(ess) was helpful and did go out of her way for us.
Lovely restaurant with good food and great service.
Am a repeat eater here, and each time I've been, I am reminded about how bad the acoustics are. The food is always good, the service is ok. The room is pretty. But don't go here if you're interest is enjoying the company of those you dine with... unless you all like to speak loud or have naturally loud voices. Afraid the front tables by the windows are the worst for acoustics -- it's like sitting in an echo chamber. Would much prefer to rave about restaurants, but posting this in case the owners see it and maybe will address. I'd recommend it, but as you see, with caution.
We ordered branzino and they gave us a chunk of some much larger fish. Totally dishonest.
My boyfriend and I chose this restaurant on a whim after traveling up to the city from Baltimore for a day trip and not getting any reservations ahead of time. (Smart) This was recommended by open table and after arriving we realized we made a good choice. The food was excellent and the staff was very attentive to our needs. Our bus ride home was cancelled during dinner so we sat in the restaurant an hour or so after eating just trying to figure out where we would be sleeping that night. The staff never pestered us to leave which I really appreciated since I was already stressed about the cancellation and then they offered us a complimentary creme brulee for our troubles. It was really sweet. Next time I'm in NYC I will go out of my way to make sure I come back. The pan seared sea bass was a DREAM!
The food was delicious, but the Cacio e Pepe had waaaay too much pepper
My team loved it! It was little crowded for them as they were a big group but it all worked out after the Managers stepped in!
Cozy atmosphere with uplighting on brick wall, great service, but the food quality was average. It had ample space for our party of 5 and a party of 15 behind us. If you're a foodie you will expect better quality than we experienced - just a bit bland for italian food. Good service with a smile though!
All the Bocca di Bacco locations are wonderful places for meals, always dependable for great food and service.
3 of the 4 water glasses were dirty. The food was good. The vibe was really quiet and sophisticated. We enjoyed the meal and the pre fixe lunch was a great value, but I wasn't wowed to the point where I would come back.
This is my second time to this restaurant and they did not disappoint. The food was amazing and the staff was very attentive. Their menu has so many great options.
We are never disappointed when dining at one of the Bocca Di Bacca restaurants in the city. The 20th Street location restaurant feels like you are dining at home with good friends. We will be sure to return on our next visit to NYC.
Wonderful night. The music choice was excellent and the food was superb.
There were 4 customers in the place at 5:30 on a Tuesday. Service was inattentive and painfully slow. Server far more interested in chatting with fellow employees. Food was marginal Italian, not a great value for the price.
Great experience all together. Thank you!
Our go to place for pre-show brunch... appetizers and drinks. Food is always well prepared and tasty. Wines are a little overpriced.
Location was perfect for where we were in walking distance. Nice decor except lighting too low! Fair prices, nice variety of meals & no issues with substitutes to written meal. Everyone enjoyed drinks through dessert! Will go again!
Nice place. Food was good. I would go back.
It’s on the corner of 9th Ave and 20th.
Consistently good. Nice wine list. Mediocre lunch waitstaff.
We have been going to this restaurant for a while, mainly bec of its location. It’s a good restaurant, it has its moments...The one thing they need to address is their one female server who is beyond rude and obnoxious. We have had her as our server 3 times in the last two months, and after Sunday we thought she deserves to be sales out for being plain and simple rude. She brought us an empty bottle of steak sauce, butter with a long strand of (her?) hair on it, taking our order (each time we had her!) felt like she was being hassled and her overall attitude did not belong in a customer service setting. On a positive note, the tall Austrian server is great, polite, attentive and professional. We’ll go back for sure, and hopefully next time things will be better.
Have not eaten there for a couple of years and this recent experience reminded me why. If the menu prices were significantly less, you'd be more forgiving of the sub-standard produce and obsequious yet erratic service. The wine list if great.
AWESOME dining experience. Had a special request for a Birthday cake/dessert and they took care of the Birthday Girl and guests spectacularly.
Was not impressed overall. The restaurant was empty and it took the waiter a very long time to come over and see if we wanted cocktails. Ordered the eggplant and it had a weird taste which was apparently the seasoning or herb they used but it was not a good combo. One eggplant was filled and one was flat with lots of sauce on top. Zucchini and calamari were good. We all ordered pasta dishes and they were good nothing amazing and the portions are on the small side.
Great for large groups!
A nice find in our neighborhood. My husband and I both enjoyed our dinner, and we were pleased to find a nice option that we could have a late-ish dinner after theatre downtown. We will go back again.
I eat at the theatre district restaurant frequently and am always satisfied. This branch disappoints- the quality and taste of the same dishes does not measure up.
The service was slow and not attentive at all and I was horrified that the very rude waitress reminded me I had to pay 18% service and said I clearly didn’t know that and where was I from. Actually I then left the right tip and shouldn’t have. Awful attitude and wished I hadn’t left the tip. Would never go back because the restaurant wasn’t even busy and we were not a priority at any point. The food was great though so shame staff attitude awful. Wished I had left no tip for her though. She needs firing!
Nice diverse menu and excellent options on their Restaurant Week menu. Only reason I gave 4 vs 5 stars is because of the very long lapse in time between 1st and 2nd course. Other than that Hadji, our server, was fantastic as always. The bartender made one of the best on the rocks margaritas I have ever had. You will not be disappointed...
Healthy pours on cocktails. Our bartender was agreeable when I asked for a drink he wasn't familiar with and delivered. The crabcakes were wonderful as was the rest of the meal. Our son and his girlfriend also loved everything. The New York dining week was an awesome way to sample the best of Bocca and the three course price was very reasonable. A great evening.
Awesome food . Service was okay . But not very attentive with their transition into dinner .. there was no host to check in with.. will be back again but will make sure Irs during a meal period .
The staff was very nice. They seemed to all really enjoy their jobs! We had a nice corner table and enjoyed ourselves. Music was just a little loud for having conversation but other than that we were pleased. Definitely recommend. Thanks!
