Great service and ambience but just average food - super average for what it costs.
The $39 restaurant week deal is worth it. Such a good deal and amazing pastas. I definitely was full when I was done.
This is only my second time being here and I’ve made it a priority to go here as a birthday tradition… I was very excited to have all my friends share this special day with me and unfortunately service was not as amazing as it was for my first visit… during my first visit the manager personally took care of us and was beyond polite since the party was only a 2 person party we only spent around $120. For my second visit which was just 2 days ago on 7/20, our waitress was decent, but seemed a bit snobby; this time around I reserved a table of 5 and we spent over $300, being a waitress you’d think she’d get excited about the tipping situation right? We told her she could keep the change, and she gave us our change back regardless. When my friend tried to give her the change and say “no this is your tip” she said “I don’t need it” as if our money isn’t good enough for her and we’re too poor to tip… i’ve never felt so disrespected in my life. Honestly this place is amazing, so if you go make sure you ask the host for a table that isn’t serviced by the one female waiter
Outstanding appetizers grilled octopus and caprese and pasta. But the entrees left much to be desired. Very salty salmon and not fresh branzino (fishy smell) left the dish hard to eat!
Hi there, thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that the two main dishes were not as outstanding as the rest of the meal. While the salty salmon could have been the chef mistake, we pride ourselves in ensuring that our ingredients are of the highest quality and freshness Please come back with your lovely family and let us make it right
The waiter showed exceptional knowledge about the wine list and food menu. Service was prompt and accurate. Food was cooked to perfection and the spices were perfect!
Incredibly helpful staff, we LOVED our dishes - the Caprese and the Mushroom Pasta w/ Truffle Oil. The only thing to consider isn't really their fault - the outdoor seating isn't completely in front of the restaurant, and you feel like you're sitting in the sidewalk, with people walking by, etc. This is, of course, exactly what you're doing, so there you go. There is a second row of outdoor tables that is a little more separated from passers-by. Overall a great experience, with the food being what will draw us back more than anything, and in second position being the staff.
Food here is always great! Friendly, lively, environment. Gracious hostess.
We had our usual terrific experience. Food and wine were great and the prices reasonable. Boca is a great neighborhood place. If you live in the Flatiron district or nearby do yourself a favor and check it out.
Great service, generous portions, and delicious food.
Amazing!!!! Delicious food, great atmosphere and super friendly stuff 💗
Cacio Pepe was excellent. Service was great. Good wine by the glass selection.
Great service & incredible, authentic Italian food! Will be coming back for sure!
My niece and her husband were in from out of town and I wanted to take them to a “non touristy “ Italian restaurant. This place was perfect! The experience was most enjoyable from the friendly host to the wait staff. The food was fantastic and I will definitely return.
Had a swell time and we will return. The food was amazing and so was the drinks.
The food was DELISH. Service was perfection. Loved everything about this cute place!
The food was SO SALTY we couldn’t eat either entree. Asked for a lemonade/ice tea mix and got cloudy tea with a lemon in it. Seating is awkward if you’re in the middle section, tables are small & both people sit on the same side to conserve space.
Would not go back.
We were on vacation to NYC. It was amazing!
the elephant ears clam pasta definitely needed more sauce but the flavor was good,
My Party order the lame pasta and the eggplant pasta tasted good but was heavy on the salt.
The fried zucchini for appetizer was delicious .
and the watermelon salad with spinach and goat cheese was refreshing.
We'd dined at Bocca Cucina several years ago, and enjoyed it very much. To celebrate Father's Day this year we decided to have dinner there again. The food was really delicious, and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more attentive!
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was even better! We had the avocado toast, which they were able to prepare to accommodate my GERD—and my friends had the caprese salad and truffle pasta (I think it was a special). Overall we had an amazing time and the staff were so sweet and helpful, especially Manolo! Looking forward to returning x
Lovely neighborhood Italian restaurant. Waiter was fantastic and good was too! We’ve been going to this restaurant for years and it just keeps getting better & better! They have lots of outdoor seating too!
Food and service are wonderful!!
Cocktails were delicious too. We had a great evening, thanks you!!
Great food with warm, attentive service. We were a party of 5 seated outside for dinner w/ the curtain partitions and we had a great night, dined for almost 4 hours with so many courses and everything was great. The Mexicano cocktail was fantastic as was the cacio e pepe, branzino, chicken, salads, etc. We even got to enjoy a limoncello at the end of our meal. Wonderful find!
Delicious food, nice ambiance, excellent service. Have been twice and will go back.
The most tender grilled octopus appetizer I have ever tasted (and I do always order this when I see it in a menu)
Every dish was spectacular.
Will definitely return
Loved the idea of going to a nice Italian restaurant in The City. Wait staff and manager were all lovely.
Unfortunately, our stuffed zucchini flower was less flower and more deep fried breaded cheese stick. On the upside, both it and the small fried zucchini stalks were super greasy. 🤦🏻 Fennel salad was crisp and refreshing, but very mild on flavor.
My Branzino was quite moist (compliments to the chef…hard to do!), although a crispier skin would have been appreciated. The pappardelle with lamb Ravi was tasty, albeit somewhat over-salted.
All in all, for an ok meal, it should have cost less. Practically next door is Craft, Tom Colicchio’s place. Probably a better bet for my next visit.
What an amazing meal! The spinach and watermelon salad was fresh and delicious. The branzino with chickpeas and kale was amazing. And the chocolate cake was superb. The service was outstanding! They have a great selection of tables both indoors and outdoors. One of the best Italian restaurants in NYC!
Amazing food, amazing service, highly recommend!
Strong yummy drinks.
Really delicious pastas - very friendly service.
If you are looking for a cozy date night with your significant other, Bocca is the place for you. The meatball appetizer was splendid. Good moisture, and flavor. Dinner , my wife had Tonnarelli cacio e Pepe. She really enjoyed it. I had Pappardelle al rago di angelo. Best thing we had was the desert. Nice fluffy and airy cheesecake with berries.
Authentic Italian. Very reasonable price for the city. Nice neighborhood vibe. Good food and wine.
Great food . Highly recommend , they never disappoint .
Great out door seating! Food was amazing. Our waiter was also so kind and made the best latte I’ve had in a while!
Interesting place with great food! The waiters are very quick and helpful and the manager very considerate. All-around a great spot
I love this restaurant! I’ve been there three times in the past month. The first time they didn’t have my brand of Scotch, but when I went back, not only did they have it but remembered what I liked! The fusilli alla norcina is amazing, and several of my group ordered it and raved. Food is excellent, wait staff wonderful, outdoor dining perfect. Can’t wait to go back!
Before telling you about the AMAZING food, you should know that this place can get VERY loud. We moved our table due to a large party, and the overall noise level. It was a first date, so definitely wanted to actually hear my date.
Host was amazing and helped us from beginning to end. Very impressed with his attentiveness. Overall service was very good, with the bus boys constantly refilling water, taking away plates, etc. Waitress was just fair, a little inattentive and aloof. Could tell that she was frustrated that we weren't ordering fast enough for her liking.
Appetizer of burrata (pillowy soft mozzarella) with arugula and prosciutto was perfect and very satisfying. My date got octopus, which she let me try, and was perfectly grilled and yummy.
Main course for me was orichette with broccoli rabe and fresh clams. Fresh clams, meaning still in the shell and tiny fork included! The orichette was definitely cooked in the salty broth from the clams and was OUTSTANDING!!!
Highly recommend this solid Italian. Slightly pricey, but probably totally normal as I don't go out much! (Also totally worth it for the excellent quality). Expect $18 drinks, $18 appetizers and $25-$35 entrees. Our bill with 2 drinks, 2 apps, 2 entrees was $170. Definitely go!
Food was very good. Had the Cacio e Pepe and was outstanding. They were very accommodating for Gluten Free request as well. The noise level was so high that you could not hear at the table and the restaurant was not even full. Could not hear the server or table mates.
It took them 40 minutes to cook a dish with just pasta and cheese in it, despite an empty restaurant when we arrived. It tasted so bad that we didn't eat it. The waiter didn't care, he was happy to take back our uneaten food and then bill us for it. There are many better options in New York for Italian, especially for a $70 lunch.
Good location, excellent food, bad service. They forgot about us and we had to ask a waiter to take our order. Other than that, it was a nice dinner. It is very loud inside but I think that makes it enjoyable because it matches the Italian culture of a loud dinner place. 5/10, would be a 9/10 if it weren’t for the bad service. Still recommend though!
They were very accommodating and attentive. Food was excellent would come back again.
