Not really great pho
I went here for dinner with a couple of friends. The food was great! We ordered taro fries to share and they were amazing! Two of us had phō, and one had a rice/noodle bowl. I am vegan, so I was happy to see options. I think the phō was enjoyed more than the rice/noodle bowl. Service was good for the most part... water was not refilled as diligently as one would have liked, and due to the orientation of the tables, it seemed a bit squishy for the waiters to serve the food. Also, sitting on the side of the table facing the street was very nice, as the windows were open and it was a nice days to watch people walk by. I’m not sure if it was so nice to face the inside, as the decor and number of tables make it seem busy and crowded.
On a warmer day, it would’ve been really nice to sit outside on the patio!
Food was great, but I would only go there solo and sit at the bar to eat.
My daughter and I went here imagining this as a good place for vegetarian offerings. We had a lovely time and the food was excellent. It's a really nice ambience as well.
Great services !!!
Great! Food was served in large portions and was tasty
Wow. Sooooooo good. The food here is amazing, the ambience is killer. What is there not to love. Oh and did I mention the prices are so worth it.
Food was good. portions size right. Server was perfectly good. I had a cucumber juice that was my favorite part! I would go back.
Very poor service. They forgot our order and we waited over an hour for our food. The waiter did not apologize and the manager didn't believe us when we said they forgot our food (even though the waiter had to come back and ask us what we ordered). When we finally got our food, portions were very small and I left hungry despite the expensive bill. Would not recommend.
Appealing, no-frills restaurant with off-beat decor and good, reasonably-priced drinks.
The food was not authentic and it was very loud. I felt like I had to yell at my friend for her to hear me. The service also wasn’t the greatest. They were very confused of where to seat me.
Great venue, great food and amazing service. We loved it! I recommend trying the avocado chocolate mousse for dessert, it was delicious.
Food was not nice at all, we were with a group of 4 and we all ordered different dishes. We were all disappointed. Flavouring was off. Was very expensive for what it is. Went home needing an extra dinner but couldn't get one because of how much we spent at this place! Wine was also not good, we tasted all three red wine options and went with the least disgusting one, but still not satisfied.
It’s a cute spot! Really like the pho and dessert. Though the food came very slow
Delicious food (best part is that it’s healthy too) and very nice staff! A must-go in Soho!
Cute Drinks were delicious, but couldn
This little and cozy place is great for a dinner for two as well as for friends get together; the cuisine is delicious ( try the beef and lemongrass noodles!), well presented and the service is friendly and enthusiast. I really recommend it
I love bocaphe for the food but every time I go I’m reminded of how awful the service is. We didn’t get sat until 45 minutes after our reservation time. Then it took upwards of 30 minutes to get water for the table and our drinks and have our order taken. The staff is so disorganized. Would recommend more for a takeout option.
Great Pho. As good as Saigon! This place is a gem.
We over heard the bar tender talking about how sick he was with the flu and then complain that the bathroom sink doesn’t work so they had to use hand sanitizer instead. Food was good, service was good, just nervous about cleanliness.
Good, solid , fair priced Vietnamese with friendly service, dope music , and a nice vibe !
This place was an awesome surprise! I was searching for a great healthy option for dinner and ended up very happy.
Tried the caramelized beef bao (tremendous), the spicy thai cucumbers (also excellent) and then shared a beef truffle bowl on zucchini noodles. It was so good it made me forget I was being healthy! Would've loved a little less cilantro, but otherwise the meal was fantastic. Tried a nice Vietnamese coffee to finish it out, which was not my favorite, but a neat experience. They brew it right in front of you into a little pot of condensed milk.
Also, shoutout to our server -- didn't catch his name, but he was also tending bar, who was so nice and friendly. Would definitely come back!
The place is super cool, the main courses are very good, Jeremy, the owner, is super cool and extremely friendly. A lot of fun!
What a gem of a find!!!!
The food was very, very good but the service was not great. I don't think they check their OpenTable reservations because we weren't on the list when we got there and host tried to sit us at the counter even though there were open tables. Eventually after some confusion we were seated at a table. We ordered an appetizer, drinks, and dinner. The food was really good but my cocktail never came. Waiter didn't come back or remember cocktail until we were finished eating and by that point we were ready for the check. Would definitely come back but would call to make a reservation next time.
It was terrible from start to finish. The service was frosty from the outset and did not improve. Our drinks arrived well after our first course and the food was neither fresh, spicy or tasty. It’s not good value for money at all. Overall there are plenty of other better Vietnamese restaurants in NYC.
Great place for a quick bite ... it can get a little crowded since the tables are so close to each other but still works
Fantastic food, very friendly service and a lively atmosphere made this a perfect lunch spot! I'd go back again in a heartbeat.
I never write reviews but did not enjoy this experience.
Was looking forward to coming here however the service was not poor. My gfs order was not placed and we had to re order. It took forever and the waiters did not seem to care or consider that I was well finished with my meal. If you are looking for fusion viet this it, not authentic viet flavors.
Cool ambiance but no number of mirrors and flashing signs can make up for the less-than-dazzling pho. Noodle portion was skimpy and so was the beef. Head away from BoCaphe to Saigon Shack for real, satisfying pho.
Good and cheap food.
Good food, but drinks and apps took a long time to arrive. Almost forgot someone's drink and needed 3 remindings. Was there for 2 hours for 5 people due to such slow service. Don't go if you need to be somewhere soon.
I arrived a bit earlier than my date who was running late, I gave the host a heads up. He said I could take a seat but the only table available was directly in front of the door so I told him I'd wait until my date arrived and see if something else opens up. My date arrived and we walked in at the same time as a couple who I overheard say they didn't have a reservation. There were two tables open, one toward the middle of the restaurant and the one in the door. He sat the other couple in the middle of the restaurant and pointed me to the table in the door. I reminded the host that not only did I have a reservation but that I had just spoken to him three minutes before about preferring not to sit in the doorway. He shrugged and told me it doesn't matter if you have a reservation or just walk in, you'll get whatever's available and told me to wait.
Aside from that, our server was nice and the food was okay. The portions were smaller than I'm used to for pho, the meat came already cooked and was a bit dry and the price is a bit steep for pho.
I wouldn't go back - I'd probably just walk the ten minutes to Chinatown and find something there.
A great find - charming service and delicious food. I explained that we were in a hurry to catch a flight and it all came very quickly. I'd definitely go back!
Would def recommend. Great service, great food. Rice noodle salad was delicious.
First time dining here. Their one bathroom was not working and the staff did not give any options as to where we could find a toilet; they frankly did not care and i'm pretty sure that is a health violation. Besides the poor service, the food was mediocre. The pho was not good. The spring rolls were ok. The final bill was an unpleasant surprise. Do not recommend
The restaurant is really pretty, the food was good and the service was good considering how many people the one waitress was serving
It was good but not amazing. I really do love, though, their list of juice drinks and the option to have a shot of something (like lemon, cayenne pepper, honey and ginger shot).
Good food at a decent price for SOHO. Lots of fresh herbs.
Thank you for a fun & delicious birthday meal tonight! We loved the summer rolls & vegan pho and I enjoyed the hot sake - your staff was amazing, as well. Your decor is fabulous & the sake container was adorbs!! The upside down plants were a cool touch & the wall-art in the back was pretty cool! I will be yelping y'all as well with five stars!!!! What a great soho Vietnamese food venue!!!! BoCaphe is definitely a must try!!!!
