   I met a friend for lunch there. It was great. I was able to make a reservation. I'm not working right now, but my friend does work. I wanted a place where we'd not be stuck in a line to get food. We could sit, eat, and catch up. Bocanova provided that. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was great. It was well seasoned and didn't have too much salt. We shared the Brussels sprouts appetizer, and I got one of the lunch specials. It was an ahi tuna schnitzel, and was very good. My friend got some smaller dishes. I'm not exactly sure which ones, but she seemed to enjoy the food as much as I did. It's a great spot for a casual lunch in a great location. I'm glad that I chose it!

   My dining partner was very sick soon after we finished eating. The service was painfully slow and the restaurant was near empty so it’s not like they were busy.

   Gorgeous spot on Broadway in Oakland. Food was outstanding: Ceviche Verde Tostadas, Scallops and Moqueca Fish Stew. Owner helped with wine pairing. Highly recommend and we will be back frequently.

   First time went with friends. We love everything about Bocanova, the food, the service, the ambience and full service bar, outstanding. We will be back.

   I used to go to the orginal location in Jack London Square, which had a wonderful atmosphere, nice booths and tables, the food was excellent. The new location has a completely different vibes, feels like a quick lunch spot, outdoor chairs inside, food presentation average, taste good. Just not as nice as prior location. The hostess was rude, didn't welcome us. Our sever was kind and excellent, she really improved the experience.

   Unfortunately, the food was terrible. We ordered the beef empanadas; the filling was bland and the pastry was thick and the dough was thick and gummy. We also ordered the petrale sole sandwich. The fish was minuscule, the avocado was only on half of the sandwich and what was advertised as "spicy" was insipid. Lastly, our waiter was not attentive. He asked us how the food was and we responded with sad faces below average. His response was okay, and he walked away from our table. We will not return to Bocanova and will not recommend it to friends as a lunch spot.

   A lovely and delicious Friday lunch on BocaNova’s patio. We tried delicious and utterly fresh yellowtail two ways- the first a wonderful tiradito, raw slices with a slight spicy sauce and diced mango . The second perfectly cooked pieces on a bed of sautéed eggplant over an avocado purée. It was melt in your mouth delicious! Desert was the chocolate cake with flan and raspberries. Quite a way to end another great meal. Thanks to Chef Rick, Martín, Daniel, and all the staff for such good food.

   Good date night spot with some availability on a Friday evening. We flew in for the weekend and we're pleased to find such a good spot conveniently located near our hotel.

   Always delicious and interesting dining at BocaNova. Enjoyed a perfectly cooked omelet with tasty Brooklyn fries ( a crispy potato patty). The salmon special was also perfectly cooked.

    The prix fixe lunch was great! Not to mention that Daniel made the experience wonderful but we also love him and his service.
