Went here for a dinner with my significant other, wanting to try something new. We started out with a cocktail, I had the old fashioned, and it was spectacular, just a perfect old fashioned with one big, perfect cube of ice in the glass. My gal had the basil lemonade which was really good as well. We started with the charcuterie plate which had a nice mix of cheese, meats and pickled veggies with flatbread wedges. I had the snapper special which came with a teriyaki glaze, puréed cauliflower and broccoli. The fish was perfectly cooked, and really could have done without the teriyaki glaze. I thought it was a little cloying. The cauliflower purée was awesome though, a much more healthy option than starchy rice or potatoes. The broccoli was horrible though. I think the grew it themselves, and although it looked like it had been boiled for an hour it was still really tough. My gal had the flank steak and she loved it. Overall, the food was really good, and the menu has been put together with a lot of care. Stay away from the craft brew Pilsner, though. I think it’s Coppertail Pilsner. It’s garbage. Ive never had a more bitter beer in my life. I actually sent it back and got a bud draft instead, since they don’t carry Heineken and I refuse to drink Stella.
The place was a little loud, but otherwise nice with a kind of market vibe. You can actually buy some craft cheeses, butter, milk and a selection of fresh veggies from their market section.
Inside of the restaurant was very cold and the noise level was excessive. Overhead fans didn’t work outside and it was very hot. Waitress forgot to put in our order of flat bread. A group seated long after us got their entire meal before we got our appetizer. Although the food was excellent, we left Boca angry at the negligence of the staff and the rudeness of the people around us. It was not a good value of our time and money. Next time we will get our food to go.

This was my second time at Boca. First visit was not good (food was mediocre and there was a small ball of paler napkin in the bottom of my beverage), but after a few months passed, I thought I’d give it a second chance. Service was good, but food was unimpressive and spendy for the quality. Definitely room for improvements overall...

Skirt steak and meatloaf were outstanding. Cocktails were delicious. Asked for the bright lights to be dimmed, which were done after a few suggestions. Service, not so Bueno. First the cocktail on the specials list wasn't available. Then it was. Oh, do you still want it? Took forever. Did not check in often. Sat inside next to sliding door to outside patio, which they kept open and made the room very hot. Other than that, food and drink were delicious and will go back hoping for the service that we've received before.
Server was not good at all... My friend and I both knew we wanted the meatloaf and told server that... But we did not know our drink or appitizer yet... Had to ask about happy hour ... He put drinks app and food in all at once .. So much for a nice bday dinner out with a girlfriend I see twice a year... Champagne fried zucchini and meatloaf all pulled in front of us at once! Not a very nice relaxing time at all! Quite disappointed!
Ww were very happy wirh Melanie as our waitress.Very knowledgeable with the menu but the hostess experience was pathetic.No eye contact when she mumbled "Ill be with you" maybe? I wasn't sure but on top of the lack of experience as a hostess she was on the phone taking reservations when there was a line forming in front of her.Please train this young lady properly.
We had a great lunch! Our new "go to" spot for lunch in the Riverview area!

Not the same boca. We were last here six months ago and have been traveling. Now back we wanted to try boca as it previously was one of our local favorites. The zucchini fries used to be covered in corn polenta. Now they’re floury and greasy. Not good at all. My husband ordered the gnocchi and said it was disappointing and flavorless. I ordered what I thought was the Kansas City strip steak and by virtue of a miscommunication by the chef to our server got mystery meat. I swear it was a thick skirt steak. The manager took my meal off the bill when he could not identify the cut of meat either. Or maybe he would not identify it since they were charging $31 for something he said was possibly sirloin but had the texture of skirt steak. My mashed potatoes were very runny and the truffle oil that was supposed to be drizzled on the broccolini was in a puddle on the already watery potatoes. The cobbler we had for dessert was filled with sour, i ripe berries. Not at all like it used to taste. The ice cream was still good. Not going back just for decent vanilla ice cream though. Not sure what’s going on but sadly disappointed and not going back anytime soon. Appreciated the manager taking my meal off but then learned the hostess marked us down as open table no shows even though we clearly identified ourselves and our reservation time. Oh well. In the past the service was so-so and the food was great. This time our server was great and the food and the rest of the experience was so-so.

This was not the first time we’ve been to Boca, but we took my Father, and my Mom and her husband for dinner for Father’s Day. They LOVED it!! We came back for Brunch the following Sunday!

We ended up going to the Brandon location this time instead of south Tampa and we actually prefer this one! We have an infant and it was super accommodating and loud enough for no one to notice if he got a little crazy. Our server was a Ashley and seriously if she could be my server at every restaurant I'd be so happy she even took a family photo for us!
Tried this for the first time for Father's Day brunch. I made a reservation and we were seated on time. Restaurant was not very busy at that hour. Service was really slow. REALLY slow. It took about 15 minutes to get two cups of coffee, and about 20 minutes to get apple juice for my toddler. Restaurant "ran out" of sugar caddies, meaning we waited an additional 20 minutes after getting our coffee before we could add sugar. The manager came by several times asking if our waitress had been to our table, and he was even in the back helping with small things (making small plates, etc). Not really sure why the manager was having to work when it seemed like there were plenty of employees, and the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. It took about 15 minutes to get a children's menu after we asked for it. Anyone who has kids understands how imperative it is to get the kid's food ordered ASAP. We waited over an hour to get our food after ordering (party of 3 + 1 toddler). The food was delicious when we finally got it. The menu was creative and had a lot of great options. The ambiance, price/value, quality of food, taste of food were worth the wait. I will definitely return because I believe in the "farm to fork" movement, and I believe in the values of the restaurant. The amount of times I visit the restaurant in the future will be centered around how much time I want to wait for a meal. Overall: I recommend it. Have a small snack before you go, and expect a wait.
Boca is amazing! Nino is an incredible manager! He always cares for his staff and makes certain his guests are happy. Lauren, MJ and all the staff deserve great applause. I am there at least twice a week and am never disappointed. Please come and enjoy!
Love the “Farm to Table” concept using locally grown produce. Fresh produce with deliciously creative dishes coupled with great customer service is a recipe for the best new (at least new to me) restaurant in greater Brandon area. Thanks again!
Great food and service as usual. The only issue we had on this trip was that we arrived early in the evening when the staff were all together in a meeting and our bar drinks were taking a bit long to be created. No worries though, our awesome server Zora took care of us and broke up the meeting so that we could enjoy our adult beverages! Thanks for great service Zora!
We tried this restaurant when it first opened and wasn’t impressed at all. We gave it another try and was yet again disappointed, shame on me. The service was mediocre, the food was awful. I ordered the special which was a sirloin. When it came out it was already sliced into 5 pieces and slightly under cooked, when I took a bite it was tough and chewy. You would think for $31 it would be a good cut of meat. I couldn’t even finish the meal. After we left spending $70, no drinks, we went to Publix and picked up a real dinner. Once again very disappointing and believe that if it continues down this path it will be closed within the next 18 months. Good luck.
The steak and grits on their brunch menu was delicious. Unfortunately I had to eat my entire meal without water. The eggs were a bit too salty so I recommend ordering them without less salt than normal. The place looked nice tho it was a bit noisy but an busy restaurant is. The over all experience was good just need more attentiveness from the servers.
Our favorite neighborhood place! Service has improved greatly in the last year and the food is consistently good. Their fish spread is our go-to app and the Sobe chicken burger is so good I order it almost every time!

Great menu but a tad too noisy. Service and availability of the servers needs improvement. But the overall experience was nice.
When informing a hostess of your reservation, one shouldn't have to tolerate a condescending and abrasive response along the lines of 'it's going to be a while because we can't sit too many people at once, so just go wait at the bar.' Fifteen minutes after our reservation we were finally seated.
As for the food, it was good but in desperate need of seasoning. We ordered a half dozen of oysters but only received five. The grits and sweet potato gnocchi were both very good.
Our server was polite, on the ball, and the best part of the dining experience.
The restaurant was easily over 80 degrees. The windows and doors weren't open to the outside but we both were sweating simply sitting at our table. I get it, it's Florida, but it wouldn't hurt to turn the AC on.
When coming out of the bathroom, I would rather not see dry goods and other kitchen implements stored on the floor. Health code is six inches off the floor. This alone, makes me not want to ear here again.

If you only read the first line of this review, I'd want your takeaway to be, noisy and not worth the money. That being said, there's nothing horrible about this place. Happening, yet loud atmosphere, with an interesting selection of food and booze. When I say loud, I mean, I couldn't hear the person on the other side of a square 4 person table. The stand out dish was their mac and cheese which was really good. The dog of a dish was the mussels which were so gritty, they were inedible despite being a nice flavor (still got charged for them). In the middle was the pork chop (tough to do on the bone, I get it), the meatloaf (ok, but I've had way better), the skirt steak ($28 for skirt steak? Really?). One glass of wine, one bourbon drink, 2 apps and 4 entrees with one being free using their birthday coupon, was around $150 with a 20% tip included. Our server was outstanding, very friendly, very attentive. I think she made the difference in the whole experience. I'd say check it out and see what you think. For me, I'll try a couple other places before going back. Best to you all!
Steak was unevenly cooked, some parts raw, others well done. Asked for the kale caesar salad, never received. Meal was supposed to come with micro greens and I received yellow squash instead (without being informed of the change). Food did taste fresh.
I absolutely love this place! It’s actually my fave place to go! Great food, great gluten free options, great service, superb wine list! I’ve only had a few minor issues in my many visits...one-if my child wants a refill on Basil Lemonade...should not be another charge for an additional. Two- I ordered a bottle of water, was charged $5 for it, but it was poured out of a pitcher, as is normal/house/tap water!??? I never even saw the actual bottle it came from...lol. Although these are minor complaints, it won’t stop me from visiting again! My girls and I love it here! Thx for being available, and such a great location! Xoxo
Several visits to Boca, and, as always, some things are hit-or-miss: Service, excellent; cocktails- inventive and beautifully presented; fried green tomatoes - the best anywhere!; smoked meatloaf - scrumptious; staff meal mahi-mahi - crazy salty, and very sparse on accompaniments; bread pudding - ugh, horrible mushy mess - we sent that back!
We shared the green tomatoe appetizers. Fried a bit too hard. Tomatoes appeared red not green.
The frittata was not good. It was dried out. Too many sundried tomatoes. In fairness my first time ordering the frittata. It wasn't what I expected.
Service was good. We didn't order drinks because we're were heading to a drink tasting event.
The most consistently good/great restaurant experience in the south of Tampa dining scene. On site management contributes to the overall quality in every aspect from seating, to service to food quality.

Great food and great service! This place is also super cute, with a creative menu. I especially liked how they grow the lettuce on the wall. I will definitely go back.
