Our servers Ashley and Mike were incredible! Very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was beautiful and delicious. The portions are a bit bigger than typical tapas. Would highly recommend the Elote Loco Nachos from the Happy Hour Menu!!
The food was good, but the place was understaffed. We ordered a handful of tapas. Two of the tapas were incorrect, which they did correct. But it was well into our meal before they remembered that we had also ordered drinks. The staff was very nice and comp'd our drinks, but by then we had a 'sour taste' in our mouths, despite the food being delicious.
Amazing food. We’ve tried the gambas al ajillo, ceviche, empanadas, churrasco, salmon, everything!! And the owner Michael is the best. Super cool and passionate guy, it comes out in the cooking. Oh and get a margarita :)
We were pleasantly surprised that everything was so tasty. This was our first time there and the 8 of us ordered about 10 different dishes. There wasn’t a single one that I wouldn’t order again.
The food was amazing! We ordered the yucca frites as appetizer and it came with 4 sauces - ranging from mild to hot. For entrees we got the Churasco - which was the evening’s hit especially for our 10’year old. We also got the roatan salmon (which had an amazing flavor - the salmon is layered in with spinach and rice), steak empanadas and picanha steak, and the churros for dessert. We would definitely go again!
This was our first time at Boca Botanas. The dress code said business casual, but this place was clearly casual. There were lots of fish and vegetarian options, but many were deep fried, so not as healthy as we would have liked. The avocado-hearts of palm salad was delicious and went well with the ceviche. Portions were good sized. Overall, it was a nice having a Spanish food restaurant nearby but we probably won’t be back.
Amazing! We travel over an hour to go to this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The surf and turf saltado was amazing and the mamasita drink was really good.
Food was good. Waitstaff was a little slow but the food came out in good time once waitstaff took the orders. Pineapple on fire dessert was not very good at all.
Nice neighborhood spot. Great place to meet a friend and share tapas. Real nice group of people who manage and work there. I will go back!
Wow wow wow!!! First time trying this place and my wife and I absolutely LOVED IT!!!! The food is AMAZING, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Brandon was awesome and the Caipirinha was on point!
We are definitely going to make this our go to stop from now on! Keep up the good work Boca!!!
Great food and service. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed once it became busy.
Very limited menu not at all what I expected.
Wouldn't go back
Food was very good, but restaurant was very loud, one of the loudest we have ever been to. Because of the noise, we are unlikely to return.
The food was very tasty! The server and bartender were friendly! Would definitely come back.
Best tapas place ever! Service is great! Food is awesome!!! Drinks are tasty!
Wonderful mix of cold and hot (and meat and vegetarian) tapas. We had the bright citrusy avocado jicama hearts of palm salad and then the fun crispy baby spinach, wonderfully crunchy quinoa crusted shrimp, and ropa vieja tostones.
The only challenge was there by chance happened to be a wine dinner also occurring at the restaurant at the same time, so service was understandably busy/stretched out and it got really incredibly loud. So if noise is a challenge come off-peak dining times (and/or be sure there isn’t a special event/gathering going on). This hadn’t occurred (wine dinner) nor had it been that loud on previous visits.
The food is extremely delicious and tasty. We selected different tapas such as chicken, vegetarian, sea food, and steak
All of them were so good. Great value for the money
Really liked this place, loved the small talas style tacos, let’s you try a variety. Food was flavors without being heavy.
For the sangrias, a better wine will help and add some more tequila to the margaritas so they taste as they suppose to be.
The food and prices are outstanding as is the relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely recommend the restaurant to others.
The young lady taking care of our table was great, she was very attentive to our needs, she had a big smile the whole time we were there, we were 5 and feel very comfortable to the point that we did not realize 2 1/2 hours had passed since we seat down for dinner.
90 % of the dishes we order were very good
The food was amazing & innovative. The drinks are NY style craft cocktails! A great place with many interesting vegetarian options as well. We will definitely be back! Often!
Shockingly overpriced for mostly routine latin food served as tapas. Nothing we had was 'elevated' and tasted pretty regular. If the cost per plate was not so crazy it might be a place to eat home style food, but as is... no.
After reading all of the reviews, it seemed like a no brainer to give this place a try. We were seated promptly to our table and were provided menus. Once the water was poured, we perused the menu and waited for service. After 2 tables that sat after us were attended, we placed our drink order. While we waited for our drinks we placed our food order. We were served the drinks about 15 minutes later after someone from the back came up front to assist. My drink (spicy pineapple mezcalita) came out like a room temperature shot and the other drink ordered was a Mojito (which was the wrong order the first time it was served) and tasted like rubbing alcohol. We were also constantly waiting on water service.
The food served was tasty, but I didn’t see the value with the price and the wait. Overall, I was disappointed with the service of this restaurant. There seemed to be enough help even though the restaurant was full. I will look for alternative options before coming back to this place.
I really enjoyed the food. For this being my first time I wasn't quite sure how the portions were cause some tapas places are generous or skimpy. They were definitely generous. The entrées could feed at least 2 - 3 people especially the paella. The service was a bit slow for the restaurant being slow. It also took quite a while to get my entree over the other 3 entrees my table ordered. I get you want the food to come out at temp.
I have recommended Boca Botanas to several friends -- every single one enjoyed their dinner there, and many became regular customers.
Food is simply amazing and the owner, Mike, is a super nice young guy.
Great food- fun place in a strip mall( Hence the lack of ambience…)
We went looking for a unique local place with good food. This fit the bill. Food was very good and food and drinks are reasonably priced. The menu has a good variety and plenty of choices for my vegetarian wife. It seemed the servers needed a bit more experience to make our dinner a completely smooth occasion. Desserts were the low part of the meal.
Food quality is outstanding, nice varied menu with unique choices as well as past favorites.
Michael and the team at Boca Botanas have created a friendly, laid-back and comfortable place in which to consume their delicious and innovative small plates / Tapas!
On a first visit, my friend and I enjoyed Palm and Artichoke salad, which might also be described as Vegetation Ceviche.
Fresh, tangy/sweet flavors of cilantro and other subtle hints infused the firm bit tender veggies in harmony, creating a seaside experience without the seafood!
The veggie empanadas were ample, delicate crispy, and filled with a pillowy and flavorful mix, and served with Aioli, Peri-Peri, Verde, and Chipotle sauces to meet any palate.
Finishing our minimally ordered meal was clever presentation of Tres Leches cake served in a cocktail tumbler and crowned with summer-sweet sliced strawberry - how can dessert be both sinful and light?
Friendly and attentive service, quite reasonable pricing, and personal attention made our visit to this neighborhood gem delightful!
Excellent food, attentive service, nice selection of gluten-free options that are clearly marked on the menu. Just a great experience. Thanks!
Great tapas, I’d say best I’ve had in the Montgomery County area! Will definitely go back to try other items on their menu.
The food especially the shrimp in garlic cream sauce. The wait staff was great. I made this reservation because we were passing thru and we didn’t want to hit another chain. It was a great choice. Definitely would recommend.
Fun evening with amazing food and service. This restaurant did not disappoint. We had a large party and everything was outstanding.
Thanks for a great evening.
Food was good. We got the pork “steak”special. $30. Was told plenty for 4 people. We each only got 2 smallstrips. It was good as were other 3 dishes but not a good value for pork
Always a nice experience at Boca Botanas tapas bar. The food is good, staff is friendly and the prices are pretty reasonable.
Small restaurant run by the owner, who is totally charming and helpful, as is the staff.
More important, the food is uniformly excellent. We loved the ceviche, the bacon-wrapped shrimp , the chicken empanadas, the churrasco... all wonderful. Nice bar, too.
Michael’s entree suggestions were on the mark. The Ceviche was amazing and fresh! We will be returning for sure!
Fixed Valentines menu was a surprise.
The food served was fantastic but quite expensive. $75 for dinner only included starter, entree and dessert.
Dessert was not of the same fantastic quality as the food.
No coffee or beverage was included in the price.
Live music was nice but too loud to be able to dine and converse.
