Our first time to dine at Bob's Steak & Chop House. The atmosphere was refined. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. The steaks were the best I've ever had. Will definitely be back.
We were greeted warmly and our server was very friendly. However there were two miscommunications that caused confusion and lowered expectations. First my partner and I both heard from our server that tonight’s fixed price Thanksgiving Day dinner was the only item available, *not* anything from the regular menu. When I commented that I didn’t understand why we were given the regular menus he then said it was if we wanted an item other than turkey. After confusion on our part he clarified all items were available. Secondly, I am sure I saw that a piece of pumpkin or pecan pie was part of the fixed priced turkey dinner. Our server very quickly said “negative!” I may be wrong but felt embarrassed for asking. From our server’s point of view he may have thought I was asking for a free handout. Otherwise the food and service was great.
A wonderful meal, nice ambience, delicious food. Order the onion rings! Our waiter was fabulous.
We were one of only a few tables eating here on a Friday night so we were a little skeptical..but all I can say is everything was great. The food and service were both 5-star.
Atmosphere was perfect to celebrate a birthday dinner and steaks were cooked to perfection!

Great place for weekend lunch. Convenient location and many menu selections. Service is excellent. Prices are moderate.

Wonderful food and tables are spaced out nicely! Sometimes I find restaurants in NYC pack too many tables in a space to make room for more dinners but then you feel on top of everyone.

The best meal we had during our stay in NYC. We first experienced Bob's last year on our honeymoon and could not wait to come back. It is always great when your experience exceeds your expectations.

Visited for breakfast - it was disappointing. Slow service despite being very quiet.
Spectacular steak, perfectly crispy potatoes, and tender sweet carrots. The lobster bisque was delicious as well.

Moderate experience. A little pricey for the quality.
Waiter was friendly and provided exceptional service.Restaurant was elegant and the food was delicious. Had good time with friends as we enjoyed the las day of restaurant week.

The Best Steak I have ever had!
I came to this place during restaurant week with my wife and my small babe. This place is absolutely exceptional! It was the best steak I have ever had! The dinner room was spacious and looked luxury, the staff was nice and friendly, and my 20 months old babe loved the salmon, smashed potato and steak, kept on shouting and asking more. Really love this place.

In General, it was Good. Liked the pickles on the table.
Steak was oversalted, Surprized me @ it is a steak house & I like salt,
however it was really really salty. Would not order a steak here again if I go back.
Service was good.

Went there for a friends birthday during restaurant week and the food was amazing. Great quality, taste and presentation. I had the 6oz Filet with signature carrot and smashed potato. I read the previous reviews which made me slightly nervous but after going those reviews are incorrect based on my experience.
Plus they have a hostess that looks like Anne Hathaway +1

Our server was great and staff generally attentive. Food was very good. We only thought the Mac & Cheese was bland & needed more flavor but overall no real complaints. Definitely plan on returning.

The steak was thin, grizzly and 40% fat. I can’t remember when I had such a poor piece of meat. I brought a guest to dinner and apologized for the quality of the meat.

I sent my steak back three time because it was under cooked. I own several restaurants, and, so, the final time I could tell it had been obviously squashed to death on the grill, leaving no flavor. A manager did not greet the table, and it was a disappointment without any comp.

I came with a group of 5. 4 of us ordered steak and all except for 1 were over cooked, we had a reservation for the show so we didn’t have time to send them back. The service was very good though

I went to this place to see it, and Sunny the bartender make me go again, so I went with my husband, and we really loved it. Its beautiful place. Food was very good. But the best is Sunny, he makes you feel like home. His service is excellent.
He recommended us the meat New York prime steak, and tomato and onion salad. Good wine list.

The T-bone steak was medium when I ordered medium-rate, so it was terrible and I didn’t finish it. The salad. shrimp cocktail, and bread were outstanding.

Alfredo was the best waiter we had all week in any restaurant and we visited AVRA on 48th, Capital Grille on 52nd, Del Friscos Double Eagle on 49th, Fresco by Scotto's, many more and Alfredo made us feel special and at home. we were staying at the omni from the 15th to the 22nd of March. He is the BEST!!! Thank you Bob's Steakhouse and please dont lose Alfredo! :)
In a city full of great restaurants, I thought Bob’s was mediocre at best. The food was a throwback, but not in a good way. The lobster bisque had no lobster in it all. I ordered my steak medium well, and asked for it to have a thin line of pink. It came out medium rare. When I mentioned it to my server he picked up the meat and had it cooked further and brought it back By that time, I had finished my my baked potato and carrot. The carrot was huge Presentation was very strange

Everything was fantastic. The food is great, the service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was spot on.

Very nice service and a pleasant room; blisteringly expensive ($90+ for breakfast for two people, including $8 for coffee) and very unremarkable breakfast fare.
Overall I found this steakhouse to be average. Its a nice space and quiet enough to have business discussion but almost too quiet. Our waiter seemed disinterested. Just going through the motions. Basically an order taker. When we asked for reccomendations he pointed at the specials and said "everything's good". That's an answer you get from an 18 year old at Applebees. The food was ok. Not bad just nothing special. Price is average for a nice steakhouse in NYC. Same price point gets you into Maloney and Porcellis around the corner which is a much higher end experience. Bob's is a nice space with potential but there didn't seem to be anyone in charge so the staff is just punching the clock. I won't bring customers back here. They were definetly disappointed in the overall experience .
