Bobo is the elder sibling of Carlos Suarez's Casa Nela group, which includes Village hits, Rosemary's and Claudette. The place is easy to miss, as the entrance is downstairs; but walking in off the busy corner at W 10th and 7th Ave, guests are transported to a chic French country home with sizable bar area, parlor level dining room, and gorgeous year-round garden.

The restaurant serves dinner and weekend brunch, offering classic French country cooking lightened for their West Village neighbors - confit lamb shoulder, chicken cocotte grand mere, chocolate mousse, and bistro stand-bys like oysters and panisse.

Was there on valentine's day, which had prix fixe menu. Considering that, maybe server was not super excited given that often prix-fixer diners don't tip well, but the service was definitely subpar. The food was fine, but certainly not remarkable. For the price, I wouldn't consider it a great deal. I'm very willing to spend $150 per person on a great meal with good wine, but this didn't meet my expectations.

Very civilized! Loved the room and decor, food was very good, staff made us feel comfortable and welcome. Left feeling like I’d finally found a neighborhood restaurant I’d return to again and again.

It’s a lovely place to enjoy an intimate session with a loved one, and I’ve been here for brunch, many people enjoyed their food and service! Ordered chicory and kale salad, which was fantastic! Next was a French version of buttermilk pancakes (crêpes au babeurre), which were stunning, and sweet! Last was chocolate mousse in a glass. Thick, delicious, but maybe a bit cold for my tastes. My waitress was kind and receptive, and my bill was generous. I’ll gladly return again, maybe for dinner!

Service was excellent and loved the ambiance but had a 45 minute wait until we got seated even when I had made a reservation... they did get our first round of drinks on the House, buuuuut is anything (other than food) good enough when you’re starving ?! PS. Our rezo was at 9:45pm—seems like they need to plan better :/

Came here for restaurant week and loved that they had GF options for my friend. Ordered the baked oysters, risotto, and the ile flotante and everything was delicious! Had a reservation and they seated us upstairs, the decor and ambiance was amazing, great place for impressing people❣️

Really unique experience. Interesting and cozy space with different feels depending on the room. Food is very creative and flavorful. French influences dominate, but the menu is modern American. Highly recommended.

The ambiance and decor is wonderful. I had the cauliflower soup as an appetizer and the Coq au Vin, both delicious. The soup was creamy but not too thin and the chicken was very tender and flavorful. They have a good wine selection also. Good service.

My wife and I went to Bobo's as part of a night out and really enjoyed it. Some Manhattan restaurants are too much of a scene - too noisy and crowded - but this place had a decent amount of space and was busy but not loud. The food was excellent, the service very attentive without being annoying. It was a little pricey but worth it for a special night.

Went here for Restaurant Week. I had the chicory & kale salad, coq au vin and il flotante. Everything was okay, but not memorable. Service was friendly and attentive. The place is nice and cute.

The experience was great for getting together with friends and family from out of town. It was Restaurant Week, so we enjoyed the prefix menu. The kale salad; however, wasn't kale at all. The dishes are also quite small. I like that they take reservations.

What a wonderful evening at Bobo. We were a party of 4 and really enjoyed both the service and the food. The wine choices were extensive and reasonably priced for nyc. Appetizers and entrees were very good although I found dessert a bit disappointing. Our waiter was fabulous and helped our party feel comfortable and welcome. All said it was a lovely evening.

The menu is fairly small but you can't go wrong. The ambiance is wonderful for a date or anniversary ...definitely worth going for a special occasion. Mark, our waiter was one of the best I have ever had. His wine parings with our selections were tremendous. The food was well prepared and presented as well as delicious. The thought out into every element of this restaurant was well thought out, and the results clearly show it. Magnifique!

We had a lovely dinner. The ambiance was cozy. Unfortunately, just as we sat down, a wedding party sat down in the private room so our dinner took awhile to come out, but on a whole it was a wonderful evening.

They were out of our first two wine bottle choices and we weren't notified in a timely fashion, so we didn't receive drinks until we had already received our food. We also didn't get a comp of any kind for the hiccups, which would've been appreciated since we had to continually go up in price due to the bottles being unavailable. Our waitress was alone for her shift and had about ten tables. Didn't allow for great service. And unfortunately the food itself wasn't great either. The restaurant is ADORABLE upstairs though - so if you're looking for good ambience, check it out.

PERFECT Exceeded my expectations. Love when that happens. Waiter, Mike, was outstanding, quite a personality... Oysters were perfect, briny, fresh. Bobo salad fresh, great goat cheese, cheese platter nice opening and steak tartare right on the money. Duck was one of the best I've ever had , very small portion but packed with flavor and I'd get it again. Pasta special was tasty with fresh basil, steak au poive cooked perfectly with a great green peppercorn sauce and the sea base was fresh, cooked perfectly. Bread and butter were perfect. Deserts were full of flavor, fabulous sorbet, especially the pear flavor, chocolate mousse perfect and the strawberrys and cream were delightful. Great bottle of Rose champagne and after dinner drinks topped it off. Congratulations to the owner, chef, waiters, you hit the nail right on the head. PERFECT

We went to Bobo during restaurant week. First I will say ALL staff I interacted with were professional and very friendly. I would return just because of the staff. I arrived early and had a delicious specialty drink, Bohemian Bourgeois, that was refreshing and delicious on a hot humid night. When my friend and I were seated we were NEVER RUSHED to order, to dine or to leave. We were both satisfied with our meals, and having told our waiter early on that I was celebrating something, my dessert was delivered with a little candle and congratulations....a nice touch. We will undoubtedly return.

I came here for Restaurant week dinner in the Summer of 2017. The food was good and the portions were ample. The servers and manager recognized us from our last visit on Father's Day and they treated us like old friends. Their warmness, attention to detail plus quality and interesting fare will have us returning in the near future.
