We all enjoyed the food. Also enjoyed the relaxed pace for out Sunday brunch - would definitely go back
Overall excellent experience. Ate upstairs with my wife on the early side (6:30 pm) this past Saturday night. Upon leaving we both agreed that we would come back soon.
the food is delish the place is so pretty, service is great, we had a great night!!! will keep coming back
The food and service at Bobo never disappoint. An excellent meal with excellent ambiance and fantastic service. Love love love.
Really like Bobo. Entree portions are small but I don’t mind that. Great atmosphere.
Great spot for a date and makes for a very charming dining experience. Upstairs decor is welcoming and quiet enough to carry on a conversation. Had the mushroom tart and the sasso chicken with the Bordeaux while my date had the fillet de boeuf both of which were super delicious. Portions are just right and the staff is friendly. Totally would come here again.
Only one part of our experience was unsatisfactory. My husband ordered the roast chicken, which came with bacon. Since he does not care for the taste of bacon, he requested the chicken with out. But the preparation clearly included bacon and he couldn't eat it. I shared my entrée with him because he didn't want to wait for a new one. The manager graciously removed the cost of the entrée from our check, and even offered us the dish to take home.
We would definitely return but would question the preparations more carefully next time
This is an outstanding French bistro in a charming old home. Food was excellent and ambience was delightful. We were seated upstairs and the noise level was very low and among the best in the City. We have now eaten there three times and loved each occasion.
Great service from the moment I walked in. Very attractive interior, lively but the noise level was not bad. The small menu has great seasonal choices, and all of our food was delicious! I will definitely go back!
Our server was outstanding and the food was great. It did take a long time for us to get our entrees however, everything else was done well.
What a lovely restaurant. Beautiful décor, great food, wonderful service. Definitely recommend for a date night!
so sorry to see the remodel upstairs. I felt like i was in the suburbs. it is a crime that you took the booths out of the front windows.
that said, I live in the neighborhood and will continue to support the restaurant.
All the food we had was excellent including the mushroom tart and chicken and the octopus and the duck special. Service was friendly and attentive except they did slightly mess up my dessert order. Opt for a seat in the back upstairs.
It’s a beautiful space, but so noisy that you can barely have conversation. The menu is interesting, but the execution of the food is relatively tasteless and mediocre. Most of our hot dishes arrived lukewarm. There are so many other places in the neighborhood that are just as charming looking and at the same price point that it’s not worth a visit.
Finally got to try Bobo for brunch. I pass by this restaurant all the time and see the big sign but never went until today. I'm so glad we finally tried it.
Breaking down the review as follows:
Reservations: They allow reservations through OpenTable and we got there super early so we waited at the bar. The manager was so nice and accommodating and offered to seat us at our table even though our party wasn't complete. This is a + since most NYC restaurants will not seat you unless your party is complete.
Ambiance: You can tell from all the pictures I posted on this review that I loved the decor and ambiance. It's so stinkin' cute!! So much French flair and country chic. Great lighting too on the patio!
Service: Our server was very good and attentive. He's on point from giving us good suggestions to refilling our water and drinks.
Food:
I had the lamb shoulder and polenta and it was so delicious!! I could eat that every day! Also tried my friend's Croque Madame and it was heavenly! From the presentation to the actual taste, the food was on point!
Bobo is a great place for brunch. I'll have to try it for dinner one of these days.
Very pretty space, especially if you’re having brunch in their back conservatory-like sunroom. The food was very good - I had the eggs with wild mushrooms. They were incredibly accommodating when my friend realized her eggs were made with butter which can make her quite ill. Without any fuss they quickly whipped up an order with olive oil in no time at all. (Just wish they would carry some sort of non-dairy milk for coffees. It’s a mainstream thing.)
The only negative was the total lack of any non glutton
Side dish.......ie: bread ( toast) which would have completed the omelette choice. It’s a major request these days and a loaf of glutton free bread in the kitchen would work wonders.......trust me.
We had brunch at Bobo recently. While the downstairs was quiet, it was bustling upstairs. The steak tartare was flavorful, and different than your typical steak tartare. I'm always weary of pancakes for brunch, even though it's a typical brunch menu item because they are often doughy or dry and cakey; however, these pancakes were delicious! All in all, a good vibe and good food.
Amazing overall experience. The food was to die for, the service was fantastic and the place is so charming! Upstairs dining room is more quiet and downstairs at the bar there’s music and a more vibrant scene and you can also eat, not just for drinks. Will definitely come back!
Was there on valentine's day, which had prix fixe menu. Considering that, maybe server was not super excited given that often prix-fixer diners don't tip well, but the service was definitely subpar. The food was fine, but certainly not remarkable. For the price, I wouldn't consider it a great deal. I'm very willing to spend $150 per person on a great meal with good wine, but this didn't meet my expectations.
Very civilized! Loved the room and decor, food was very good, staff made us feel comfortable and welcome. Left feeling like I’d finally found a neighborhood restaurant I’d return to again and again.
It’s a lovely place to enjoy an intimate session with a loved one, and I’ve been here for brunch, many people enjoyed their food and service! Ordered chicory and kale salad, which was fantastic! Next was a French version of buttermilk pancakes (crêpes au babeurre), which were stunning, and sweet! Last was chocolate mousse in a glass. Thick, delicious, but maybe a bit cold for my tastes. My waitress was kind and receptive, and my bill was generous. I’ll gladly return again, maybe for dinner!
Great service, and looks even better after the renovation. Staff is phenomenal, and food was outstanding. Love this place!
Service was excellent and loved the ambiance but had a 45 minute wait until we got seated even when I had made a reservation... they did get our first round of drinks on the House, buuuuut is anything (other than food) good enough when you’re starving ?! PS. Our rezo was at 9:45pm—seems like they need to plan better :/
Came here for restaurant week and loved that they had GF options for my friend. Ordered the baked oysters, risotto, and the ile flotante and everything was delicious! Had a reservation and they seated us upstairs, the decor and ambiance was amazing, great place for impressing people❣️
Really unique experience. Interesting and cozy space with different feels depending on the room. Food is very creative and flavorful. French influences dominate, but the menu is modern American. Highly recommended.
The ambiance and decor is wonderful. I had the cauliflower soup as an appetizer and the Coq au Vin, both delicious. The soup was creamy but not too thin and the chicken was very tender and flavorful. They have a good wine selection also. Good service.
Wonderful French restaurant! Service was impeccable and the ambience added to the delightfulness of Bobo . Great mix of French cuisine coupled with a great selection for happy hour.
Baked oysters were fantastic. Their chicken dish was a bit bland and a tiny bit dry. Loved the house ambiance!
My wife and I went to Bobo's as part of a night out and really enjoyed it. Some Manhattan restaurants are too much of a scene - too noisy and crowded - but this place had a decent amount of space and was busy but not loud. The food was excellent, the service very attentive without being annoying. It was a little pricey but worth it for a special night.
Went here for Restaurant Week. I had the chicory & kale salad, coq au vin and il flotante. Everything was okay, but not memorable. Service was friendly and attentive. The place is nice and cute.
We ended up here last minute and it was such a pleasant surprise. The food was great and the townhouse is a nice ambiance.
The experience was great for getting together with friends and family from out of town. It was Restaurant Week, so we enjoyed the prefix menu. The kale salad; however, wasn't kale at all. The dishes are also quite small. I like that they take reservations.
We love Bobo. It’s one of our go-to destinations when in NYC. Always delicious with great service and ambience.
I've gone for brunch a few times now and the food and service is out of this world. My friend comes to visit from another country often and this is becoming our must go to when we meet up!
What a wonderful evening at Bobo. We were a party of 4 and really enjoyed both the service and the food. The wine choices were extensive and reasonably priced for nyc. Appetizers and entrees were very good although I found dessert a bit disappointing. Our waiter was fabulous and helped our party feel comfortable and welcome. All said it was a lovely evening.
Restaurant week and birthday.
Wife's Invisalign accidentally got thrown out and staff went way beyond call of duty to locate it. Extremely great service and great food as well
The menu is fairly small but you can't go wrong. The ambiance is wonderful for a date or anniversary ...definitely worth going for a special occasion. Mark, our waiter was one of the best I have ever had. His wine parings with our selections were tremendous. The food was well prepared and presented as well as delicious. The thought out into every element of this restaurant was well thought out, and the results clearly show it. Magnifique!
We had a lovely dinner. The ambiance was cozy. Unfortunately, just as we sat down, a wedding party sat down in the private room so our dinner took awhile to come out, but on a whole it was a wonderful evening.
